The Truth hurts

OK i decided to give this fanfic thing one more Chane , I'm going a bit ahead in time using rumors that Carl and Anna become a couple, but then he realises....

Sorry if its not to good, but well here we go....

Carl was sat on the sofa alone in dale view, he thought back a few years, how had he went from happy, bubbly and cheery to this......sad, miserable and depressed. When he was with Anna he felt nothing, she was another Grace....another Lexi, someone to give him sex and that was it...nothing more....nothing less. His life resolved around his work and well his work. He glanced around the room until he suddenly stopped and seen a picture of his dad on the table, he hated himself so much for what he had done, it was a terrible mistake, one that he would never stop regretting, but what was done was done.

Carl's phone started ringing, it was Anna he couldn't face her just now so he just let it ring out, if his dad hadn't have gotten in the way him and his one true love would've been married almost two years. He often thought about Chas and the things they could have done together by now if they had got married. And at that precise moment he realized that he didn't ever want anyone else but Chas, she was his one true love his soul mate, but he knew that no matter what sill excuse he came up with that she would never forgive him,........unless...well unless he told her the truth.

Carl gave this allot of thought but decided that after texting Anna and telling he never wanted to see her again, that if he wanted to ever be happy again then telling Chas the truth was the only way, but how. He realized he couldn't just go up to her in the middle of the pub and tell her so he decided to write a letter that way he couldn't be interrupted in telling her. He walked over to the kitchen table and got a pen and paper and started wiritng......

I'm not really sure where to start, apart from well my life has completely fallen apart without you, I was so stupid to let my dad ruin things after everything we'd been through together. You were my world, my everything, in fact you still are. I still get that feeling deep down whenever i see you in the pub, in the cafe. That feeling that we'd be together always and forever. I know it would be allot to ask you for another chance after the stupid, horrible things I said to you. You have to know how much i regret saying those things and how much I didn't mean them. So I'll just say it I didn't want it to come to this to have to hurt you like this again but I don't have any other choice if I want you back, where i can look after you, and love you and protect you.

I know I've had so many chances to tell you but i just couldn't, not because i don't trust you, and didn't want you to know but i couldn't ask you to keep this secret it wouldn't have been fair, but well i think now i should tell you, even if it makes you hate me more.

It was me, I killed my dad.

It was an accident thats one thing you need to realize, we were arguing about you, the things he said about you i wasn't just going to stand there and listen to it not about you, especially after he blackmailed you, i wish so much that you'd have phoned me straight away and told me i would have chosen you over them any day.

He was just sitting and i was so angry, i seen the horse statue and just hit him, it was just a spur of the moment thing i didn't do it on purpose, then he got up and fell at me, i didn't want him anywhere near me after what he'd said so i pushed him away. When i seen he was going to fall i tried to catch him, honestly i did but i couldn't.

If the police hadn't found the other horses head and released you and Eli, i would have handed myself in, i wouldn't have let you go to prison. I know that nothing i can say can make me go back in time, reverse everything, killing my dad, breaking up with you, having a fling with grace, and Lexi and Anna.

Grace, well i suppose i wanted to get caught for what I'd done, but well that didn't work, i didn't stop loving you.

Lexi, well to be honest she reminded me of you and i know thats not a good excuse especially after the whole Del thing but its true, but i still didn't stop loving you, and being apart from you seems to have made the love i feel ever stronger.

Anna, well she was just there i suppose and she listened, but that was it nothing more, nothing less, and guess what it didn't get out my head, thats why i decided to write this letter, because i feel that you deserve more than anyone in the world to know the truth, even if it does hurt.

Carl got up from the table and put the letter in an envelope and ran across to the post office and posted it, he thought this would be the safest way so that no-one else read it, all he had to do now was Wait a few days......these would probably be the longest days of his life.

It had been two days since Carl had post the letter, which would either send his life into destruction or happiness.

Chas was just waking up at wishing well, she looked round and seen the time....10:30am, crap she thought late for work again, everyone would already be up and gone, she jumped in for a shower and got dressed before heading downstairs. She made herself a coffee and sat on the sofa when her phone rang, it was paddy.

"Where the hell are you? your over an hour late" paddy ranted down the phone.

"Sorry i slept in be there in half an hour OK" Chas said while yawning she was extremely tired.

"OK, don't let it happen again" and with that paddy hung up.

Chas sighed as she put her phone down, she always felt like some one was having a go at her. She walked over to the door and was putting her coat on when she seen a letter addressed to her sitting on the table, she recognized the writing, and wasn't really sure whether to open it or not.

She grabbed the envelope and headed out the door, she thought she would read it seen as how she had to walk to work, it was something to pass the time...little did she know that this letter would change everything.

Chas had forgotten all about the letter by the time she was at the end of the path, and it wasn't till she was approaching the vets that she remembered about it, Chas looked at her watch and thought that five minutes wouldn't make a big difference so sat on the bench and opened the letter.

She started reading but wasn't really taking any of it in, she was so surprised to have gotten a letter of off Carl in the first place that she wasn't properly reading it anyway, until she seen those four words that stopped her eyes right on top of them.

The words echoed in her head......I killed my dad......I killed my dad......I killed my dad.

She wasn't sure how to act, at first Chas thought to herself that he was just messing but as she continued reading she realized that he wasn't, a single tear slipped down her cheek, she wasn't sure how she was supposed to react to this. As she looked up she seen Carl coming out of the shop, he looked at her then realized what she had in her hands.

Quite suddenly Chas dropped the letter and ran off, she couldn't even look at him just now, Carl began running after her....

Here's another update, hope yous like

Chas just kept running and running, she wasn't sure where she was going her head was all over the place, so many different thoughts filled her head, how could the man she once loved, the man who was so caring and understanding, the one person who she had ever let see the real her, how could have killed someone. She could sense he was still behind her and that he wasn't going to stop.

Chas sudden;y stopped trying to get away, and turned round tears filled her eyes and slipped down her cheeks. Carl wasn't sure whether he should speak or not but after about five minutes of them just standing there he felt like he should.

"I'm....so sorry, I never meant to hurt you" Carl whispered softly.

Chas still stood silently, she was now looking at the ground, she couldn't bear to look at him, not after finding this out.

"Chas...."

"Carl just leave me alone, please" Chas finally said

"No, you need to let me explain, please am begging you" Carl said through the tears that were now spilling down his face.

She looked straight into Carl's eyes, she knew deep down no mater how much she didn't want to that she still loved Carl and always would, she didn't want to see him upset, not because she didn't want him to pay for how he had treated her but because, well no one wants to see someone they love hurting.

"You've got five minutes, and you better have a hell of a good explanation for this" Chas answered

They both sat on a bench at the side of the road Chas still kept her eyes fixed on the path and Carl began to talk.

Back in the village the letter that no one else in the world was supposed to read apart from Chas was still lying on the ground beside the bench. Scarlett and Daz came out from the cafe, and sat on that exact bench, scarlet seen chas's name at the top of the bit of paper and picked it. She knew she shouldn't and Daz told her not to, but she couldn't help reading it.......

Scarlett began reading, she felt like she shouldn't be because the letter wasn't for her but she couldn't help herself. Daz sat watching her reading, quite suddenly all the colour drained from Scarlett and she dropped the letter, after reading those words....I killed my Dad. She wasn't sure what to think, what to say, she just sat there silently while so many thoughts filled her head.

Carl and Chas were sitting on the bench, he was trying to explain. Chas began to feel sorry for him he had had to go through all this on his own, and as much as she hated him for what he'd done to her, she knew now that he only wanted to protect her.

"I know, its not simple, but could we at least talk about giving things another go?" Carl said a bit to hopefully

Chas turned to face him

"I just need a few days, Carl, please to get my head round things" Chas answered

"OK, whatever you want, ..... your not going to go to the police are you?"

"No, you idiot am not, I just wish I'd known, I would have helped you Carl, not turned against you" Chas said while the tears were still pouring from her eyes

"I know, i know" Carl said as he wrapped his arms around her and puled her into a hug. He kissed the top of her head and smelt her hair, having her so close to him again felt so good.

"You want a lift home?" Carl asked Chas

"Ye, thanks" Chas replied wiping her eyes

Her and Carl walked silently to holdgate to Carl's car and he drove her home. Little did either of them know that Chas wasn't the only to have found out his secret.....

Here's a bit more, not to long but Will update tomorrow

Daz picked up the letter that was on the ground and read it, he now realized why Scarlett had went silent. He didn't know what to say to her, he put an arm around her and they both just sat there. Scarlett didn't know what to feel, her own brother had killed their dad, but by what she made out in the letter it was a crime of passion, not total hatred.

Carl got out of his car and walked up to the door of wishing well with Chas, they had both sat silently in the car.

"You sure you'll be OK?" Carl asked Chas

She just nodded back and wiped away the tears that were still in her eyes. She smiled even though she didn't want to, it was like an automatic reflex, he smiled back and couldn't help but feel a little bit hopeful that things were all going to be OK. Chas walked through the door of wishing well, and Carl turned and walked back to the car.

Chas went for a shower seen as how no-one else was home, then she made a coffee and sat on the sofa, thinking, wondering she knew that she couldn't turn Carl down, not after what she had just found out, she was surprised with herself she thought that she should be a lot more angry than she was, but actually she was quite calm and relaxed, she was just glad she knew the truth.

Carl arrived back at dale view and walked through the door to an upset and angry Scarlett who had let herself in, he looked at her and was about to ask what was wrong but then he seen the letter in her hand......

Some more, its not very Good i rushed it a bit, its not to long but will update more tonight

He opened his mouth to speak but the words to change this situation weren't there. Scarlett spoke

"Is it true?, is it, did you kill my dad" She shouted through the tears

Carl still stayed silent, he just stood there while tears formed in his eyes. She knew it was true she could tell from his eyes. Scarlett ran at Carl and started hitting him, telling him she hated him, punching him. She fell to the ground sobbing. Carl sat beside her and out his arm around her shoulder but she pulled away.

"Scarlett, that letter its not what you think" Carl said softly

"I never got to meet him, you took away my dad, you killed him...you murdered him" Scarlett shouted.

She stood up and smashed the picture of Carl, max, Matt, jimmy and tom. She couldn't stop crying, it just wouldn't sink in sink in.

They both sat silently for a long time, half and hour maybe longer.

"Who else knows?" Scarlett asked now that she had calmed down a bit, she wouldn't have imagined going to the police he was still her brother but she wanted to know.

Carl looked at her and hesitated before answering

"Jimmy, Matt, Your mum, and well now Chas knows"

"My mum knows" Scarlett said clearly in shock that her own mother never told her. Carl placed an arm around Scarlett and told her he was sorry before she went she said she needed time on her own, once again Carl was left alone, all by himself.

Two days had passed and Carl hadn't been out the house, he was sitting in the kitchen, thinking about Chas and Scarlett in a matter of days he had turned both their life's upside down. He had showered and shaved and dressed, and decided to go and see Chas, he knew she'd be at work but he had given her a few days and needed to know where they stood.

Chas was sat in the vets talking to paddy, when Carl walked in, paddy instantly sensed a bit of an atmosphere between them.

"Hey, can we talk, Please?" Carl asked Chas

"Em...ye, is that OK paddy if i go now, we're not busy" Chas said

Paddy nodded and went back through to the other room. Chas stood up and put her coat on Carl held open the door and they both walked outside. The walked side by side silently until they were out of sight of the village.

"Chas, i know this can't have been easy for you, but you need to know how much I love you" Carl said before he was interrupted by Chas

"I love you to" She said, she had wanted to say this to him for such a long time and it felt like a weight of her chest finally coming out with it.

Sorry for not updating for a while, life got in the way. So here some more its not very long but should hopefully get the chance to update again tonight or tomorrow.

She couldn't quite believe she had just said that but it felt so good. She just wanted Carl to hold her again, for them to be together and share there life's like they had before.

"Do you wanna go for a walk, get away from here for a while?" Carl said hesitating slightly he was scared that Chas would change her mind about what she had said moments earlier.

Chas nodded in agreement, and looked at Carl, that love that had once been so Strong had once again been re-united and she never wanted to lose that. They walked for a few moments in silence.

Carl was shocked when he felt Chas hold onto his hand. It felt Good though to have her touch him again. Chas couldn't help herself anymore she had just felt this urge to grab his hand and done it. Carl looked round at her and smiled. He knew he was safe to proceed to his next action without getting rejected so put one hand on her waist and took his other hand away from chas's and placed it on her neck and kissed her.
