I am challenging the members of this board to write a piece of fan fiction, which will be added to the Emmerdale
Fan Fiction section.
Basically anyone who wants to can write a chapter, and I will be contributing myself. I'll pick out several characters,
past and present, and then the members of this board will write a story about them.
Now, the rules. Members can write as many chapters as they want, but they can't be all in a row. A member
can't write the second chapter, and then the third one and fourth one. They can write the second one, and then
the fourth, as long as someone else writes the chapter in between.
Member 1 writes the first chapter.
Member 2 writes the second chapter.
Member 1 writes the third chapter.
Please read all the previous chapters beforehand, so you know what's going on. Please don't use bad language,
as this site and the fan fiction one are aimed at a family audience.
And now the characters: Zoe, Chris, Tina, Charity, Kim, Scott, Rodney and Zak. You can also bring in other
characters, but all those mentioned above have to be used in the main plot, whatever that may be.
Now whoever wants to write the first chapter can.

I will post the first chapter hope it is ok. From Rachxxx  Chapter one
Zak, Tina and Charity were huddled together around a table in the corner of the Woolpack.
“What do you think they are up to?” Zoë said looking over in their direction.
“Probably up to no good” Chris replied following Zoë’s gaze
“Em that’s what worries me”<br>
“Just ignore them their too stupid to cause to much trouble and what ever they are up to we will soon find out no doubt”. Zoë turned round to face Chris trying to put out her mind the trouble the Dingles had caused them the past few months.
“Another drink” she asked, Chris nodded and she went to the bar.
“Go on uncle Zak tell us, who is it?” Charity asked quietly
“I would tell you if I knew, but all I got was this letter this morning telling me that if we wanted to get even with the Tates for getting our Sam killed then I should meet them at Holdgate farm at 8.00”. Zak fetched a piece of crumpled up paper out of his pocket and showed it to Charity and Tina.
“May I join you?” a voice said from behind them. They all turned round sharply to see Rodney standing behind them with a glass in his hand. Zak quickly put the paper back in his pocket.
“Go ahead Rodney, pull up a seat” Zak said trying not to act too suspiciously.
“So what was that you were hiding” Rodney asked innocently
“Nothing to concern yourself with” Charity replied
“Ok, I won’t ask again” Rodney answered back a bit startled by Charity’s stark reply.
“It’s all right Rodney shall we just say that it could be our ticket for revenge” Zak said looking in Zoë and Chris’s direction. “Now if you don’t mind Rodney there is some where we need to be”. Zak, Tina and Charity all stood up and started to make their way to Holdgate farm. Hoping this meeting might bet he answer to all their problems

As the three Dingles leave the Woolpack, Chris quickly wheels himself over to Rodney.
CHRIS: What were that lot talking about?
RODNEY: No idea... Zak said something about revenge and then they rushed out!
CHRIS: Probably another of their hairbrained schemes, something to do with that Sam Dingle accident. Well they should've learnt after what happened with Butch that they don't get far with me!
RODNEY: Come on Chris, where's your sensitivity? Zak's just lost his third son!
CHRIS: Hardly a loss to humanity though is it?
Chris smirks and wheels back to Zoe, leaving Rodney pondering his exact involvement in Sam's death.
(It had only been two weeks since Sam was killed in a bin wagon explosion. Chris had told Sam to take the bin wagon up to Hotton with Jarvis, but to make sure they collected some discarded waste just outside Emmerdale on a quiet lane. Jarvis managed to escape with minor burns, but it was Sam who perished. All of the villagers had been suspicious, but eventually it was put down to an unfortunate accident. But the Dingles know that Chris had something to do with it - he always did)
Charity, Tina and Zak arrive at Holdgate farm, standing in the pouring rain outside the back door.
TINA: What are we doing here Dad?
ZAK: Be patient Tina! It's only just gone eight!
CHARITY: Look! Someone's comin'.
TINA: This better be good...
ZAK: Ssssh! Let me do all the talkin' alright?!
As the stranger approaches Zak and Tina gaze in disbelief. Charity steps forward.
CHARITY: Hang about... I know you
ZAK: You should do, you married her stepson!
TINA: Well well well... Kim Tate!

Zak: How long have you been up here?
Kim: A few days
Charity: Who's Kim Tate?
Tina: How you going to get back at the Tates?
Kim: I'm Kim Tate, and I have a very great plan
Charity: I can see that...Kim, but how come your hiding up here?
Zak: Kim Tate, was married to Chris and Zoe's father.
Kim: Then some other stuff happened and I left but now I'm coming back!
Tina: Whats in it for you?
Kim: I get my hands back on Home Farm.
Charity: Hey, just wait one second, that place belongs to me
Kim: Really?
Charity: It was... and it will be again!
Kim: You have the money do you?
Charity: ...well...no...but-
Kim: Charlotte? Is it Charlotte?
Charity: Charity!
Kim: Okay, your a bit of a light weight round here.

Up at Emmerdale Farm the place is a building site, but its night now and the place is empty except for the moving torch light and bearer. He pulls out a brick in the wall and finds a small black revolver. The stranger heres noise coming from outside, he stumbles backwards into the deepest shadows....he keeps walking backwards, until flying backwards over a box and lying motionless in the pitch black.
Outside Emmerdale farm, Rodney and Danny have pulled over to repair a broken tire, Danny goes into the house to find some tools, he's in their for a while and finds the gun on the ground just inches away from the body. He notices the silencer on the end and throws it back down to the ground and rushes out in a panic.
Rodney: Did you not get the tool?
Danny: What?! What tool?
Rodney: The tool to change this tyre?
Danny: Couldn't find anything.
Rodney: I'll call out the AA in the morning, its not a far walk.

Diane: Ladies and Gents can you sup up?
Louise: Diane, I'm going out for a walk
Diane: OK, pet.

Chapter Four
Louise Appelton slipped on her coat, before walking out into the chilly winter air. As she walked around to the front of the Woolpack, she noticed Rodney and Danny walking into the village.
"Are you two okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, fine. My jeep just broke down. Where are you off to at this time?"
"Me, I'm meeting a friend."
"Bit late isn't it?"
"Yeah, well... I'll see you tomorrow then." Louise said, before walking away.
Rodney continued, as Danny stood still not noticing that Rodney had started moving away.
"Danny, are you coming?"
"Oh, what? Yeah." Danny said, still traumatised by what he had seen.
"What is it? You've been acting strange since you went inside to get that tool earlier on."
"I, I..."
"Yes?"
"There was a gun up there, lying on the floor."
"It's probably just one of Jack's. He probably uses it on foxes or something."
"But, there was somebody lying beside it."
"Who?"
"I don't know. I didn't see. There was a pool of blood beside them."
"Do you think they'd been shot?"
"I..., no I don't know." Danny said. He didn't know that the person had simply hit their head, and been knocked out while stealing the gun, hitting their head off a piece of wood.

"So what is this great plan?" Tina asked Kim, trying to stop the two former Mrs. Tate's from arguing.
"First you have to promise me that this will go no further. Because I have some evidence of several members of your family in trouble, which I could easily leave in with Hotten police."
"You sneaky little..." Charity began. Tina shook her head in disgust.
"Zak?"
"Alright, it won't go any further. Now tell us what you are going to do."
"Myself and an associate are going to frame the Tate's for a murder."
"Wow."
"Whose murder?" Zak asked.
"That doesn't matter. But I'll need an alibi for myself and my associate for the night of the murder."
"And that is where we come in, is it?" Zak asked.
"Yes." Kim said.
"I don't know..."
"Sorry Zak, I probably haven't made myself clear. I also have a picture, showing Chris Tate leaving out the bag that accidentally killed your Sam."
"What?"
"You do?" Charity and Tina asked together.
"Yes, I do. So what do you say?"
"I don't know. What if something goes wrong? We might never get our revenge then?"
"It won't. Just think how good it'd be to leave that picture of Chris with Hotten police just after he has been arrested for one murder. Think of how long he would be in prison for then? Two murders."
"We'll do it." Zak said.

Louise sat on the step outside the cricket pavillion, waiting for him to arrive. Where is he? She asked herself. She'd been seeing a married man for the past three months. He'd been living in Leeds when she first met him while on a hen night with some friends. He was a businessman, who had some connections in the village. Louise didn't know from the start he was married. When she found out she ended it. But he'd won her over. He told her that he and his wife were only married to try and get revenge on two people who'd both hurt them.
When Louise asked more about them, her man revealed that they had been responsible for his parent's deaths. They had almost destroyed his father's company, forcing his father to sell it to them at a very low price. He went bankrupt and had a heart attack. Louise's lovers mother had then committed suicide after a mental illness resurfaced.
Louise remembered how he'd told her all about his problems. His wife was once married to one of them, but had lost everything because of that marraige. She left with her son, but knew that if she ever returned then she would lose him.

Up at Holdgate Farm, Kim was also waiting. The Dingles had just left, and she had fooled them into getting what she wanted. They'd arranged to meet again the following night, to finish planning everything and to meet herassociate, or should that be husband. Where is he? She also asked, waiting for her husband.

I've pinned this so that hopefully people might read it and either post part five, or at least acknowledge that they read part four.
Plus it's something the whole board is able to participate in also!
(On another note: The difficulty with this challenge makes it seem unlikely that we'll be having any more for any soap!)

Chapter 5
“Come on Danny , we must go back this person could be alive for all we know and if not we need to in form the police” Rodney said with a tone of urgency in his voice.
Danny was in a state of shock, staring in to outer space, he jumped as Rodney taped him on the shoulder. “I don’t think I can, what if he is dead the police will want to know why I did not report it right away”.
“We will deal with that when it comes, the longer we stand here the more chance of this person not surviving if they are seriously injured”.
“Ok” Danny replied, they headed back in the direction they came from.
“Rodney, Danny” a voice called that both made them jump and they turned round quite startled. It was Diane “Are you both ok you look like you have seen a ghost.
“You just scared us” Rodney answered trying his best to sound calm “What can we do for you”.
“Have you seen Louise, it is just she has been gone a while and it is getting late”<br>
“We did see her earlier but nothing since” Rodney said
“I have seen her” a voice said from behind them, Danny jumped once again. It was Scott. “She was heading toward the Pavilion, that was about 5 minutes ago”.
“Thanks Scott” Diane turned and headed in that direction.
Scott turned to Rodney and Danny “So what are you two up to” he inquired
“We should tell him Danny he maybe able to help.” Rodney said worriedly. Slowly Danny began to explain and they all headed off to Emmerdale farm unaware of what awaited them.

Chapter Six
"Dad, I'm past all that now. I've put the drugs behind me." The young man told his father. His father didn't seem too sure.
"I don't know." Replied the man. "I'd like to believe it, but I've heard that so many times before Neil."
"Dad, it's true this time. I've changed, I really have."
Neil's father bandaged the large gash on his head. He'd picked his son up as he drove along a road, near a group of farms. He wondered how he'd managed to get lost so much and get the gash, but so far had only recieved a mumbled explanation. He knew that if he snooped too much then Neil would only run away again.
Neil's problems had begun five years ago, when he was thirteen. He'd lost his mother and then soon after started getting in with the wrong crowd. It started off with drinking, then moved on to smoking cannabis. At sixteen he was into heroin, and there was an agonising time when Neil and his dad had waited to recieve the results of a HIV test. The test came back negative.
For a while Neil had been clean, but then when his father married Kim his old problems had wuickly resurfaced. When he reached 18 he'd been put in rehab, but that hadn't worked either. After it he'd left home and since then lost contact with his father.
Now he was back, and claiming to be done with drugs.
Jonny Cowan looked at his son, thinking about those words. He was brought back to reality by the sound of his mobile going off.
'Louise' said the name on the screen. Jonny reached down and pressed ignore.
"You daring to ignore Kim? What's wrong?"
"How do you know it was Kim?"
"It was written all over your face."

"Louise, love, are you okay?" Diane Sugden asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I was supposed to meet someone here, but he never showed up."
"Oh Louise."

At Holdgate Farm another lady was also waiting for Jonny. She picked up her phone and started to dial the number, but a knock on the front door stopped her from making the call.

At Emmerdale Farm, three shadows are crawling across the building site. It's silent, aprt from their hushed voices.
"Are you sure we should be doing this? Maybe it would have been better just to call the cops." Scott suggested.
"I have to back, see what happened." Danny said.
"What if there's been a murder." Scott said. "What if they think we were involved." He suggested, the memories of Yolanda coming back to haunt him.
"Shut up, both of you."
The three of them entered the room where Danny had found the motionless body, and were shocked to see a pool of blood but no body.

Kim looked outside, from a side window. Outside Zoe Tate stood.
"Hello, can I use your phone?" Kim heard her voice.
Kim knew everything would be ruined if Zoe saw her.
What could she do to get herself out of this mess? She wondered.

That is exactly it Sharon, you should give it ago, this is all the same story but different members write a different chapter. When I write my bit is tend to print out the story so far, so not to get to confused.

This wasn't the best of my ideas, was it? It has been running for a year and a half with only a handful of chapters posted. That said, I'd be delighted if someone did want to start it all up again.  |

but does that mean somebody writes a chapter of a story and then someone else can write a chapter of the SAME story??
