Hi, this is my first fan fic thread. It starts off with just ater the killing of Tom King. Carl is not the killer. Its Grayson (dnt like the charachter so I'll send him to jail ). Carl is goingout with Chas and in this fiction events and emotions tear them apart but wil even bigger events bring them back together or are Emmerdale's golden couple torn apart for ever. Let me know what you guys think  |

Part 1:
After Grayson is sent down - Home Farm
Jimmy: I knew had something to do with it
Matt: what do you expect with the evil witch as your mother
Jimmy: he'll get what he deserves now
Matt: about time. atleast the home farm estate will stay in our family
Carl: oh for crying out loud. I couldnt give a stuff about the money. Dad's gone - just like mum and just like our max. He is never coming back and no amount of money or control over Home Farm estate will ever change it!
Carl storms off
Matt: I didnt mean it like that. I'd give up the money and this place if it meant we could be all together again
jimmy: I know. I think with Carl is that it only hit him now that Dad is gone now
Matt: what do you mean
Jimmy; well with the investigations and interrogations by the police after dads death and being suspected of the murder....and then there is his problems with Colleen getting access to the kids
Matt: true. we will all have to stick together and get through this as brothers.
Jimmy: Come on lets find him
Meanwhile Carl is at the graveyard.
Carl (with tears in his eyes) Hi dad.....I ....dunno what to say. I love you so much and want you hear with us like I want mum and max and its never going to happen. I miss you so much dad
Jimmy: Carl...........come here (he gives him a big hugfolowed by Matt joining in)
Matt: we will get through this, We have to.

Later that evening in Home Farm:
Chas: Do you fancydoing something fun
Carl: I dunno....like what did you have in mind
Chas: something anything tht would put a smile on your face
Carl: my dad is dead. I'm sorry if I'mnot Mr.Happy go lucky
Chas: I didnt mean it like that
Carl: No...
Chas: No! I wanted to remind you that I am stil here though it doesnt seem to bother you! I hate walking on egg shells around you
Carl: youknow what you can do then
Chas: what
Carl: leave. Iam sick off you slagging off everybody wih that great big gob of yours, telling me and evrybody what do do
Chas : (crying)is that it or is it tke it outon chas day even mre
Carl: thing is I want kids i the future and you are notexactly the maternal type are you
Chas:that aint fair
Carl: I mean look at you and Aarron- he calls sandra mum and not you
Chas: I am nt putting up with this anylnger. You know I was 14 when I had him. I strggled to cope but thanks for pointingout to me that I am a usless mother to him
Carl: i want you gone before I get back
Chas: Oh dont you worry I am leaving now. Have a nice life
[chas storms outof the livingroom]

In the Dingles the next morning:
Lisa: Fry's up. come to the table
Zak: looks delicious my dear
Shadrach: (rubbing his belly) god I am starving.
Chas enters drunk
Chas: Morning people - how arewe all this fine morning
Lisa: you are drunk
Chas: sure am. all those cocktails. Easiest way to mend a broken heart. day is still young for more
Shadrach: its too easrly too drink
Chas: coming from you. I think I need some kip
[chas goes up the stairs. Shadrach gets up to follow her]
Lisa: leave her. she knows we are here when she wants to talk. let her get a few hours sleep and take her up a cup of tea.
Shadrach. I hate to see her upset.
Lisa; I know. Chas is a fighter and whatever has happened wth her and Carl she'll let us know
Zak: Lisa's right. they dont come any tougher than our chas.
Meawhile at Home farm:
Matt: you are drinking too much these days and its way too early
Carl: I broke it off with Cha yesterday evening
Matt: Why, how. she usually puts up a fight.
Carl: i did it for dad. well when you have been insulted by me as much as she was yesterday I dont think you'd put up a fight
Matt: what did you say to her.
Carl: slagged her looks, attitude but most of all I insulted her as a mother to aaron.
Matt: why
Carl: she is better off without me. if she hates me it will make it easier for her to get over me.
Matt: dont kid yourself. she is mad about you

Shadrach knocks on the door:
Shadrach: can I come in?
Chas: Yeah if you want. Might get your head bitten off though. I am not in the best of humour
Shadrach: Its worth the risk. Brought you up a cup of tea and some breakfast
Chas: thanks. I am starving
Shadrach: Do you want to tell me what happened with Carl?
Chas: he broke it off with me. He said he didnt like my attitude, lifestyle, looks, and....
Shadrach: you are beautiful, you know that
Chas: that I can take but he brought up my relationship with aaron and how he hates me (has tears)
Shadrach: You were young when you had Aaron - just gone 14 and you hardly had rolemodels parents
Chas: I wouldnt swop you for anything. Carls in a dark hole with losing his dad
Shadrach. I am proud of you, you know
Chas: I know. I love you dad
Shadrack: love you too
Chas gives her dad a hug
Shadrach: Go on...get some rest. You need it after all that drink. Believe me I should know

Matt: I am worried about him, Jimmy
Jimmy: he is pushing everyone away, us, the kids, chas
Matt: He is drinking way too much. there isnt a day he doesnt drink! He needs to stop before the timb bomb goes off.
Jimmy: Look at how he dealt with mums death.
Matt: He didnt
Jimmy: He didnt talk for about 6-8 weeks after her death - only to Max. He barely ate. Nothing dad or any body could say would make him open up. He was trying to punish himself because mum died and he wasnt there to save her.Maybe he thinks the same about dad
Carl enters Pear Tree cottage:
Carl: what are you two gossipping about? Let me guess me
Matt: we are worried about you
Carl: there is no need
Jimmy: there is every need. You are pushing everyone away since dad died - the kids
Carl: they are better off without me in their lives
Jimmy: us, chas
Matt: you are mad about her. why did you say all those nasty things to her?
Carl: how do you know what I said?
Matt: Shadrach came to home farm
Carl: cos it was the only way I could break it off with her.
Jimmy: Why did you want to break it off with her
Carl: everyone around me gets hurt. people are better off not being in my life. besides its what dad wanted before he died
Jimmy: you cant live your life the way dad wanted you too run it. you have to live it the way you want it. its your life
Matt: he is right
Carl: can we just drop it? She is better off without me!

Jimmy: well it aint me and our max is dead Matt: He blames himself for dad dying!! Vaughan: It was Grayson who did it. Thats why I wanted to talk to you Jimmy? well go on! Vaughan: The preliminary hearing is on Monday. I just thought I'd let you know Carl arrives back Vaughan: hi Carl, how are you keeping? Carl: fine! What do you care? I am going to Pear Tree Jimmy: you should get something to eat first Carl: I am not hungry Matt: He is worried about your health and so am I Carl: there is no need. I'll see you in Pear Tree Carl drives off Matt: He is killing himself slowly Vaughan: would you try get him a counsellor? I can see what you are saying about him having a breakdown. He needs to sort out his head quickly! Jimmy: dont tell us anything we dont already know. Come on Matt. we have work to go to Matt: thanks for telling us about Graysons trial Vaughan: I'll see you boys around! |

Chas: Didnt have any last night
Zak enters
Zak: Chas are you alright. You look a bit pale
Chas: I'm fine. Heading for a shower now. Have to get ready for work!
Zak (to Lisa): she doesnt look well
in Pear Tree:
the brothers ar each at their own desk working away
Colleen enters:
Colleen: why havent you answered your phone. I have been ringing you for days
Carl: You found me
Matt comes out of his office:
Matt: Hiya Colleen, whats going on?
Colleen: him. since tom died he wont spend time with the kids who want to see you
Carl: they are better off without me
Colleen: dont say that. you are their dad. They love you
Carl: they are better off without me in their lives
Carl storms off
Colleen: usually he jumps at a chance to spend with the kids
Jimmy: we are worried about him
Matt: we think he is having some sort of breakdown.
Colleen: What does Chas think? he needs help
Mat: He binned her the other day. she was the one person getting him through this
Jimmy: He is determined to grieve alone like he did with mum
Colleen: He needs help and he needs it now!!

Chas is in Hotten:
Matt pulls up in his car:
Matt: Do you want a lift home?
Chas: I can get the bus. There is one in 10 mins.
Matt: I am worried about Carl
Chas: he is not my concern anymore. He binned me when he shouted all those nasty things at me! remember? I know people think I am hardfaced but there is even a limit to the amount of abuse I can take!
Matt: we think he is having some sort of breakdown
Chas has tears
Chas: he is not my concern anymore. he wants to me to hate him and thats what I'll do. I have too much in my life at the moment!
Matt: please talk to him. COme on I'll give you a lift back to the village.
Chas got in the car
They didnt say another word to each other on the way back to Emmerdale

Carl was sitting in the field drinking Vodka. Chas spots him
Chas: You alright
Carl: Fine. Just want to be me on my own
chas: Its too early to drink. You need help to deal with your grief
Carl: Matt send ya? or was it Jimmy? Colleen? All think I am about to have a breakdown
Chas: yeah he did. I am worried about you. I love you and I hate to see you going through this on your own
Carl: I can deal with it myself
Chas: Look at me, you are pushing everyone who loves you away. Matt said you have barely seen the kids since your dad died. he told me about your mum
Carl sits down beside her
Carl: I just feel so empty. When dad died it brought back memories of mum. There is not a day that goes by that I dont think of her.
Chas: Do you want to talk about her? You can talk to be about anything
Carl: I am sorry what I said to you. I didnt mean it. I wanted you to finish with me and saying those things was the only way too
Chas: Its ok
Carl: Do you wanna go on a drive? Get out of the village for a few hours?
Chas: Why not?
