It wasn't long before Matthew and Carl could see Jimmy was jealous that both of them had kids and were settled. Jimmy was just siting at the table thinking about how much he longed to be loved and to have children, he seen Matthew and Peed together and they were so happy and in love, and then he seen Carl and Chas together and they were so happy, married, two beautiful daughters a whole new life in a whole new country, and he wanted that so much for himself. "So when are yous lot going home?"Matthew said to Carl. "Why?, do you want us to leave like" Carl replied "No, no i was just wondering, why don't we all do something tomorrow, we could all go the beach or have a barbecue, or even go up north and stay in a caravan for a few nights?"Matthew said to everyone in the room. "Sounds nice, am sure Chas will be up to doing something, what bout you jimbo" "Emm..... i don't know why don't all yous just do something, al stay here and catch up on some paperwork" Jimmy replied in a slightly upset tone, he could feel himself getting upset, he knew deep down that he would never have a family not at his age, and that he would be alone forever, no matter how many niece's and nephews he had. "Aw, Jim don't be like that, you have to come with us, i think we should go to the beach, Ellie would love that wouldn't you" Carl said as he ruffled his daughters hair. "Ok, i'll come" "Well you can come if ou tell us what is wrong with your face, you've been in a mood al day" Matthew said to jimmy. Carl put Bethany for a sleep and Ellie and her cousin were playing in the lounge. Jimm told them how he felt and it was decided that after the day at the beach tomorrow the next night jimm would go on a date, now all Carl and Matthew had to do was find someone willing to go out with him.

Sorry this update might not be to long, me and my daughter have been a bit under the weather

It was the next morning and everyone was getting ready for a nice family day out. Carl and Matthew had thought for ages who would go out with Jimmy, someone that was nice and caring and wanted a family, but they had no such luck in finding someone like this so in the end they arranged for him to go out with Nicola - well it was still a date.

About 4 hours later they had arrived at Bridlington beach and had all been for lunch, Matthew and Perdy had decided to go with Andrew to get some ice cream and maybe have a ride on a donkey along the shore. Chas and Carl were just sitting cuddled up on the beach, Beth was quite happily sitting in her pram her eyes fixated on the waves swooshing on to the sand and then running back to the ocean. Ellie was attempting to make a big huge sandcastle although it always eventually fell over and she had to start again, Chas and Carl both laughed when it fell as they seen the determination on their daughter's face to actually build the sandcastle and for it not to fall over.

Jimmy was just standing at the very edge of the water, he was wondering who his brothers had set him up with, he had been pestering them all day but they wouldn't breath a word. Once Matthew and Perdy were back around about 3ish Carl, Matthew, and Andrew all helped Ellie to build the biggest and best sandcastle. Little Andrew was just a few years younger then Ellie but he found it very strange that she could speak another language that he couldn't understand. Matthew had tried to explain to his son that because Carl, Chas, Ellie and Bethany didn't live here that they learned another language in another country but he still didn't really understand.

Perdy was sitting on a bench and beside her was Chas who was cradiling Bethany. They had been having a great girly chat, they were getting on great. Both of them so happy.

Before everyone knew it it was begining to get dark so they all decided to head back to Home Farm. Matthew and Carl felt slighty awkward around Jimmy as he had spent most of the day by himself just thinking, they had asked him to help them build the sandcastle but he said he didn't want to.

two days later

Jimmy woke up and yawned, he was just about to turn to see the time when he looked down and seen Nicola. He just looked at her with a dumb look on his face. "Morning, Jim" Nicola said before getting up, she had on the shirt that Jimmy had been wearing the previous night "Mind if i had a quick shower" before jimmy could even answer she had opened the bedroom door and began walking to the main bathroom.

Everyone else was downstairs apart from Chas and Ellie. Ellie had got up in the middle of the night and jumped in with Chas and Carl, so when Carl woke up with Bethany he decided to just leave them sleeping.

Chas and Ellie walked out of their room just as Nicola was walking down the corridor, Chas tried her best not to laugh or make a comment so just walked past Nicola and ignored her. As they both entered the kitchen Matthew, Perdy, Andrew, and Carl who was feeding Bethany were all sitting at the table. "Anyone seen Jim?" Matt asked, he would have thought he'd have been up by now. "Well lets just say last night must have went well" Chas replied as she sat down beside Carl who gave Chas a quick kiss. Everyone at the table had a nice laugh at the fact jimmy had brought someone home.

A few hours later

Nicola had went home and asked jimmy to call her, he wasn't sure if he would but he said he would anyone so as not to cause an upset.

Carl had went for a walk with Bethany, the whole family( Chas, Carl, Ellie, beth) were all going to go but Ellie didn't feel well, Chas was concerned for her daughter she never felt unwell, she had checked her temperature and it was really high. She sat cuddled on the couch with Ellie hoping it was just a bug.............

The next day

All three brothers were in the office doing some work as Carl had agreed to help out a bit while they were staying. Chas and Perdy had went for a coffee and a spot of retail therapy in Hotten so this meant all the men were left with the kids. Bethany was lying on a Winnie the pooh play mat on the floor beside Carl as she began crying Carl was just about to get up and feed her when he paused and thought it would be nice if Jimmy done it instead. "Hey, Jimmy you wouldn't mind feeding this monkey would you?" The biggest smile appeared on Jimmy's face "Are you sure bro, I'd love to" Jimmy gently picked up his niece and walked through to kitchen to make a bottle. Andrew and Ellie had been playing in the lounge, Ellie walked through to the office and tugged on Carl's t-shirt. "daddy i don't feel well" She said as Carl picked her up and placed her on his knee. "Well how about i get you some calpol, and you can lie on the sofa with a blanket and your favorite teddy and you and Andrew could watch the TV" Carl stood up while his daughter clung to him, with her arms around his neck. He went into the kitchen with Ellie and sat her on the worktop as he got a bottle of calpol out the cupboard, as he was doing so he looked over at jimmy who was sitting at the table feeding Beth, he hadn't looked up when Carl had entered the room and he had the biggest smile across his face. After giving Bethany some medicine and getting her all tucked up on the couch with Mr.mango(her favorite teddy bear) Carl went back through to the office to finish off some filing.

About 4 o'clock Chas and Perdy returned home, Perdy had got a new outfit as Matthew had promised to take her out tonight while Jimmy watched Andrew, and Chas had only bought a few things for Bethany and Ellie. Perdy quickly stopped in the lounge to see her son and then headed of up the stairs to get ready, she was rather excited as her and Matt hadn't been out just the two of them for ages. Chas went straight through to the office to see Carl by this time Jimmy was back doing some work - or he was supposed to be but ended up just sitting cuddling Bethany - "You alright babe?" Carl asked Chas as Chas sat on her husbands knee. "Ye fine, hows Ellie?" she asked, she thought she was over reacting a bit, but then again she knew her daughter and her daughter never really felt unwell. "Still, not feeling to good, she tucked up on the sofa with Mr.mango, I've given her some calpol to try and bring her temperature down. " Chas went through to the living room and sat down next to Ellie who was lying on the sofa. The minute Ellie seen her mum she sat up and gave her a big hug, Chas thought she looked awful pale. "How about we get you up to bed" Chas said as she carried Ellie up the stairs and placed her in her bed, before tucking her in and giving her a kiss on the forehead. "You try and get some sleep just now angel" Chas said as she headed back out the room.

It was about 3am, Carl and Chas were both asleep, Chas bean to wake up as she felt someone poking at her arm. She sat up when she seen it was Ellie, Chas turned the light on hoping not to wake Carl, who was still zonked. "You still not feeling good angel" Chas asked her daughter as she pulled her up on the bed and gave her a kiss. Ellie didn't say anything just shook her head and cuddled Chas. "My belly's sore" Ellie finally said. "You want to stay in here with me and daddy" Ellie nodded her head and rubbed her eyes. Chas put Ellie in between her and Carl and turned of the light.

8am

Everyone was up except Perdy, Matthew was up with Andrew and decided seen as how it was the holidays they would go fishing today, sort of a father, son bonding day. Chas was upstairs getting Bethany ready, her and Carl thought that they would maybe go out for a walk and have a picnic but hadn't completely made up their minds. In the kitchen everyone was sitting at the table (Jimmy, Matthew, Jimmy, Carl, Ellie, Andrew) They were all having toast, Carl noticed that Ellie hadn't really touched her breakfast which was unusual as toast was her favorite. "Hey you, you still not feeling well?" Carl asked, "No, can i go upstairs and see mum, i don't want any breakfast?" "Ye on you go , tell mummy I'll be up in a minute" Ellie slipped of her seat and wandered out the kitchen. "She alright?" jimmy asked once Ellie was out the room. "Not sure to be honest, she keeps on saying shes got a sore stomach and shes still got a really high temperature, and now she wont eat, i mean toast is her favorite" Carl replied becoming quite concerned about Ellie.

A few hours later

Matthew and Andrew were gone for the day, Perdy had a bad hangover from the night before when her and Matthew had went out so was still asleep in her bed, Jimmy was doing some paperwork at pear tree cottage. Chas and Carl decided not to go out as Ellie seemed really unwell still. Beth was peacefully sleeping in her moses basket in the lounge and Ellie was lying on the sofa with mr.mago she was still complaining that her belly was really sore and she still hadnt wanted anything to eat. Chas got up from the sofa and went through to the kitchen were Carl was on the phone. "Well, what did they say?" Chas asked once Carl was off the phone,"Just that if shes still like this tomorrow then we've to take her to hospital" Carl replied he hugged Chas as he could sense how worried she was....

11am the next day

Carl and Chas were nervously sitting beside a hospital bed, watching Ellie sleeping wondering what was wrong with their beautiful little girl. In the early hours of the morning they had, had to phone an ambulance because Ellie had woke up crying she was in so much pain and felt so unwell. A doctor had already been down earlier and given Ellie some medicine and then gave her an x-ray of her stomach. All sorts were going through Chas's head, she just wanted her baby to be OK. The room was completely silent until another doctor opened the door and sat down beside Carl and Chas. "Mr & Mrs king, I'm Dr.Earlie, I've taken a look at the x-rays, and i think that from those and discussing her symptoms from the last few days with a colleague that Ellie is suffering from Appendicitis" Chas just sat there holding onto Ellie's hand, she wasn't really sure what to say. "Will she be OK? I mean what can you do?" Carl asked. "Well first thing i will say is its very common for children, especially about Ellie's age to get an appendicitis, which is a bad infection of the appendix. We'll start her on a course of anti-biotic in a few hours when she wakes up, and I'll be back later to discuss the surgery we'll need to perform to remove the appendix" the Doctor explained. "Surgery? shes only six she cant have an operation she to young" Chas suddenly said, she wasn't really sure how to act, the doctor ma have said it was common but this didn't seem to please her. Chas held tightly onto Ellie's hand. "I can understand that this might seem allot for her small body to handle, but its a pretty routine procedure, a nurse will be in soon to put Ellie on an anti-biotic drip for 24 hours before the operation, and like i said I'll be back later today to discuss this with you" the doctor said before standing up and leaving the room......

It was about 3pm. Matt had been on the phone to Carl just to let him know that Bethany was fine with him, Perdy and Jimmy. A nurse had been in about 1 hour ago and put a drip into Ellie's hand before inserting a drip. Ellie had drifted back to sleep and Chas and Carl were just sitting there hoping there baby girl would be OK, the Doctor may have told Chas it was a simple operation but she knew that any even the simplest of operations could go wrong. Their silence was broken by the same doctor as earlier entering the room. "Hi, how are yous both?" the Doctor asked both Chas and Carl. "O am great, my daughters lying here feeling utterly crap, but no am fine" Chas ranted in her usual way. Carl just squeezed her hand tightly. "OK, I suppose, well do you know yet when she can go up to theater" Carl replied. "Well we are going to take her up to the children's theater at about 6pm, like i said before, very simple operation, we will make a Small incision about 3inch's to remove the appendix" the doctor explained and told them more before asking if one of them could sign a few forms letting the hospital knew they understood all the risks.

Once the doctor left once again, Ellie woke up and Chas tried to explain what the doctor was going to do to make her feel better. Ellie seemed to understand slightly.

9pm

The Docotr and two nurses arrived to take Ellie into theater. Chas and Carl were aloud as far as the doors and then told they coudln't go any further. They watched as Ellie was weeled through, Both just left in their own little worlds of thought. Carl didn't say anything just wrapped his arms around Chas and kissed her head. Praying that everything went ok........

Chas and Carl had been told to go back downstairs and wait, it was around 10:30pm and the door to the room Ellie had been in opened and the bed was wheeled through. Ellie was still asleep from the anesthetic but Chas and Carl could tell she was OK, they were both so relived. The Surgeon explained how the operation had went, he said it was completely successful and there were no complications. The surgeon left and told them a nurse would be by shortly to check the Ellie was OK. The nurse had been gone about ten minutes when Ellie began to wake up, Chas and Carl both rushed to their daughters bedside, and gave her kiss. Ellie put her arms out and gave her mum a hug, she had a special connection with her mum, and hated being away from her for a long time. "How you feeling angel?" Carl asked Ellie, he was just so relived that everything was OK. "Am feeling better daddy" Ellie said in a very tired voice.

Another doctor had been down to check that everything was OK, he told Chas and Carl that she could probably o home tomorrow night or the next morning. They were asked if someone wanted to stay with her, Chas said she would. Carl went home after giving Ellie a big cuddle and kiss, and of course giving Chas a kiss to. Ellie eventually drifted of to sleep again, and before Chas knew it she was asleep to...

2 days later

Ellie had been discharged from hospital, and seemed to be fine now, but everyone was still keeping an eye on her. Ellie and Andrew were playing in the garden, Chas, Carl Bethany, Perdy and Matt were also all outside, everyone was just chilling, the past few days had been stressful. Carl and Chas had now arranged to stay for a bit longer than they were planning, so they had sorted it out for them to move into Dale view. Jimmy was just about to step outside to join everyone when his phone rang. He rolled his eyes as he seen the name on the screen 'Nicola'. She was really starting to bug him, he hadn't answered her calls because he didn't want to talk to her to him she was just another gold-digging tart after his money, although it did make him feel good getting a tiny bit of attention from a woman...

The next morning

Matthew and Jimmy were going to a meeting in Leeds today and as Carl had begun to get involved with the business again he decided to tag along as well. Chas wasn't planning on doing much with Beth and Ellie so decided to give her mum a call. When her and Carl where in Spain they had kept in touch but hadn't actually seen each other so it had been about 5 years.

Chas picked up the phone and dialed the number, she waited as it rang "Hi mum, its me" she said down the phone nervously

"Hello sweetheart, how are you?" Faith asked, glad that Chas would speak to her now, they were building up such a good mother - daughter relationship.

"Ye, am good, actually i was phoning to see if you wanted to come over for a bit, thats if your not busy, am sure Ellie would love to see you and Beth's never even seen you before ?"

"I would love to, give me a few hours and I'll be over, is that OK?"

"Ye, am gonna take them out for a walk, then al be back at home farm so about 2 o'clock. Is that alright for you?" Chas asked her mum

"Sure is, I'll see you then, bye pet"

"Bye, mum" Chas said with a sigh of relief although they talked on the phone allot with all that had gone on in the past it was still a bit awkward.

Chas got herself and the kids ready she knew Carl wouldn't be back till about 6 or 7 o'clock anyway. She put Bethany in her pram and Ellie walked happily beside the pram talking to her mum, Chas was just so glad that Ellie was feeling better after the previous weeks events....

A couple of hours later and Chas and Her mum were sitting having a coffee they had got on so well. Ellie had really bonded with Faith, telling her all about her operation.

"This is nice" Faith said to her daughter

"Ye, mum it is" Chas replied

"If i could go back and change it all i would you know that, don't you?, i mean look at you your such a good mum, i never made the effort with you or Cain and i really regret it"

"Its OK mum , really, life's to short for regrets." Chas said with tears welling up inside her eyes, Chas was thinking about her Dad, it was a while ago he had died but she still missed him, she wished so much that she had been closer to him.

"Look, am gonna need to get back but, we should do this again" Chas stated to her mum"

Faith agreed as she stood up and got her coat on.

"Chas, i know Cains not around after everything that happened with tom king, but you don't have his number do you?"

"Yip i do" Chas said as she wrote down her brothers number for her mum. "But don't tell Carl he doesn't know, i mean its not as if we're close, we just talk every now and then"

"Don't worry my lips are sealed" Faith said as she hugged Chas and Ellie and gave Bethany a kiss on the head. "But you shouldn't keep secrets from your husband, thats how a marriage goes wrong"

Chas just smiled at her mum. Faith left and headed home and so did Chas and the kids.......
