Did anyone get to see Claire King in Vagina Monologues down in Southampton? She was fantastic!!! Extremely adept at putting on Scouse and American accents. Really hoping she does some more theatre. It was fab to meet her again too. Still as nice as in her Emmerdale days. Jerry Hall and Sue Holderness her co stars were also class acts and cool to meet, but Claire was the best

Yep, she's been a busy bee. As of June Claire will be writing a column in Best magazine. A part in Desperate Housewives is also a possibility, she's due a screen test later this year.

If she gets the part it will be to play Edie's english sister. Hopefully she will, I love that show! Claire is also taking part in Project Africa for the Children's Society later in the year - November I think.

You're barmier than barmy if you think that's Claire herself! Mind you - are you the casting director for Desperate Housewives?!

Claire was on the cover of one of the weekly mags, I can't remember which one but she had changed her hair colour.

Darth, I see you're not at all up to date with any knowledge of stars from this show - maybe you should either return to the Death Star or alternatively just find yourself a Desperate Housewives forum?!

Now that is funny.
Anyone care to enlighten Hutch?

Ok I'm totally lost...... that doesn't take a lot. There was a rumour that Claire was going to be in DH, but I thought that was quashed when an American was cast?

Apparantly, I know nothing about the cast members and I should probably go to a DH forum... yep, I'm lost too

If you read Claire's column in this week's copy of Best, you'll see Claire is lost on the situation too!

Ha ha quite right - you see - if you kept up with the lives of the ex cast members you'd know that Claire finished in Vagina Monologues a month ago!
But that said, your knowledge on Desperate Housewives must be phenomenal if you know that Edie's sister has been cast!

On Loose Women at the beginning of this week, Claire confirmed she's definitely off to the States to see producers about appearing in a show over there although it's not necesarily for DH.

I saw this on Itv teletext - Claire King has not let a nightmare hoilday attack stop her from enjoying her freedom. The former Emmerdale star has revealed that she narrowly escaped being raped when she was only 14. ''It was a close shave I kneed the guy between the legs & escaped '' she recalls. ''I did not tell anyone but it did not put me off travelling or hoilday romances being single does not have stop you seeing the world'' says Claire.

You can read more about that holiday story as well as other enlightening info in Claire's book. On another note, Claire was in Snow White and the 7 Dwarves in Barnsley in December and compered a fashion show in Harrogate last month - both were fab, Claire is a legend!

Thanks for the welcome Boggy. Have you read her book? I rate her as being an all rounder, not just for her acting. Emmerdull? Do you not like the show?! Personally I think it's a load of tits now. Bring back the good ol' days!!!

FCW? No way. I used to but they are all the same and the show is not worth it.
Mrs Boggy went to the first and used to go to all but she stopped too 5 years ago as they are such a corporate rip-off.

'Soap baddies come clean' They're the characters we love to hate. But what happens next when you've been typecast as a villian? Kim Tate, Emmerdale Claire King, 44, played Kim from 1988-1999. (none scene she deprives her husband, Chris (Peter Amory), of his medication while he is suffering a heart attack. She went on to star in Bad Girls and Strictly Come Dancing. Next year, she stars in the crime drama The Beautiful Outsiders. She says: The role of Kim changed over the years. There was an opening for a baddie on the show, and so the harder I played her, the harder the writers made her character, and from that, the superbitch was born. Her character was influenced by the female stars in Dallas and Dynasty, but vixens were a novelty at the time in the UK. There were, however, parts of Kim that I admired, for instance, the way she always spoke her mind - although she always had an ulterior motive, which I didn't like.
From Daily Mail's Weekend magazine dated 1/12/07.
