STARS of Emmerdale pledged their support for the Leeds 10K Run For All when they signed up for the event yesterday.
Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe, Mathew Bose, who plays Paul Lambert, Chris Villiers, who plays Grayson Sinclair, and Georgia Slowe, who plays Perdita Hyde-Sinclair, all put their names forward to take part in the race next month.
The deadline for entries passed yesterday so it is now too late for anyone who has not yet put their name down to take part.
The race, which takes place on June 24, was inspired by Jane Tomlinson, of Rothwell, Leeds, who has terminal cancer but has completed a host of endurance events and raised more than £1.5m for charity, including, last year, cycling across America.
She is unable now to continue entering such events.
The idea behind the race, which will form part of Leeds 800th anniversary celebrations, is that everyone can take part, running, walking or in a wheelchair amid a carnival atmosphere of celebration.
Participants can raise money for the cancer and children's charities supported by Jane's Appeal or they can opt to raise sponsorship for their own chosen cause. For more information about the race, visit: www.runforall.com
