EX-EMMERDALE STAR IN LONG EATON CHARITY SHOW
09:00 - 28 May 2008
TV soap stars and local performers are to join forces to raise cash for the rebuilding of the Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton.
A charity variety show will be held at the May Hall in Trent College on Saturday, with stars from EastEnders and Emmerdale expected on stage.
Actor Frazer Hines, formally Joe Sugden in Emmerdale, and Derek Martin, who plays Charlie Slater in EastEnders, will join around 80 other performers in a variety of acts.
Organisers have made 100 rear stall tickets at Saturday's 3pm matinee performance available for just £5.
Any money raised on the day will be split between Britain's oldest show business charity, the Grand Order of Water Rats, and the theatre's Phoenix Fund.
The auditorium and backstage area of the Duchess Theatre were razed to the ground by fire in November, 2003.
Tickets have gone on sale at Long Eaton Post Office and Ambience Art Gallery, Attenborough Lane, Chilwell. For more information call Graham Smith on 0115 849 3520 or
