From the Yorkshire Post Soap star rides in from Emmerdale to help provide fund-raising boost Emmerdale star Nicola Wheeler, who plays Nicola de Souza in the TV soap, will officially open the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST) centre's summer fair tomorrow to help raise funds for its free donkey-riding therapy service for children with special needs and disabilities in the region. Admission is free and activities include geese-herding sheep dogs, a fun dog show and agility demonstration, a raffle, birds of prey display, adopt-a-donkey, trade stands, refreshments and more. Allison Mann, who runs the EST centre at Adel says: "This is our main fund-raising event of the year and Nicola Wheeler will add a real sparkle to the day; we really are delighted that she could join us. We hope as many people as possible will come along and help support us." The EST Centre has 17 donkeys, four of which are available for supporters to adopt.
