From ITV.ComRoxanne Pallett is fronting a domestic violence campaign for the charity Refuge after being moved by her traumatic scenes as Jo Sugden. Roxanne's character has suffered serious physical and mental abuse at the hands of her husband Andy, and the Carlisle-born actress is keen to help women suffering in real life. She said: "I have no doubt this campaign will give strength to many women who may be experiencing abuse now, or who may do so in the future, to reach out and get help. "Portraying a victim of domestic violence has been the biggest challenge I have ever faced as an actress. “Just playing the role has taken a huge emotional toll on my life, but it is nothing compared to the pain, fear and torment experienced by the hundreds of women Refuge supports every day." Refuge, which helps women, are urging women to look out for signs of jealousy, possessiveness, verbal abuse, humiliation, sudden mood changes and intimidation. Whilst it's good to see an actor supporting a charity such as this the cynic in me says that this is a gold-digging little tart desperate to get to fame. She has proved it in the past and this does nowt to convince me otherwise.
