From the Huddersfield Daily Examiner
YOU might recognise Peter Martin from his appearances in The Royle Family and Brassed Off.
You probably know him even better as Len Reynolds in TV’s Emmerdale.
Now he’s taking on another role as a director for a new theatre company.
Planet Rabbit launches a tour of 17 venues next month with Groping for Words, a comedy by Sue Townsend, the writer of the best selling Adrian Mole books.
It is set round an adult literacy class and follows the experiences of a teacher and three very different characters as they learn to read and write.
Audiences can see it at Slaithwaite Civic Hall for one night only on Saturday, September 27.
The play is the first outing for Planet Rabbit, which is based at Hessle, near Hull, and was founded by Claire Butler, who has worked in stage management and theatre production since 1991.
She says: “We want to provide appealing shows at affordable prices in accessible places, to take professional plays to the people in venues that are convenient and easy to reach.
“We have found a number of great venues in some lovely towns during this process and look forward to visiting them on our tours.”
Tickets (£8) are from Colne Valley Motor Parts, Carr Lane, Slaithwaite.
