Yeah must be. I've an interview with him from around 2003 and I think he talked about having only recently left the position. Must look it up.
There is a nice little bit about the Skilbeck's on there that I thought was nicely put.

Dear Will,
How nice to get your message and to know how much you enjoyed my portrayal of Dolly. Glad you caught us in the 5000 episode Special, it was good to get a breath of Yorkshire air again!
I am not aware of any plans for our characters to be seen in Emmerdale again. Maybe Sheila might come back for a funeral for Jack. Actors don't make such decisions of course, that is for the programme makers.
So sad about Clive. We knew he was very ill when we up doing the filming but it was still a shock.
