The Appletons

My story involves old and new characters.
Louise's younger sister (Jessica) turns up in Emmerdale starting a fresh. She brings with her, from London;

-Louise and Jess's dad Arthur Appleton a wise and sensible man who has a large feminine streak. He loves a read of Yorkshire Life.

-Jessica's Son with her ex-husband John, Matthew Appleton a flirtacious teen who imediately gets his eye on Donna AND Katy, but trying to strike up conversation with one of them has desatorous concequences!

-Jessica's Daughter with her ex-husband John, Sarah Appleton is clever and works for a legal firm in Hotten, she's incredibly attractive, if only she'd show herself off a bit more.

-Matthew's best friend, Joe who lives with the family after his life in a Children's Home got to much, Jessica is his legal guardian. He bears a grudge against the world since his mother left him as a child. Debbie Dingle soon falls for his naughty image.

Story Lines to follow

The House next door to Jarvis goes up for sale, he comments on how it'll be city folk wanting a holiday home.

But it sells quickly and within days the new inhabitants arrive the Appleton's suprise Louise and even more, Diane, who thought she knew Louise but it turns out she has a sister, and thats not all, she reveals she has two other sisters, one lives in Sydney with her son and another in New York alone.

Louise and Jessica argue, they send Matthew and Joe to the cafe, where Donna greets a newly returned Katie, and Matthew soons starts to try and fail with his charm. Katie tells him in no polite terms to "shove off" ...

...so he decides to follow her out into the street, Joe runs behind trying to keep up. Katie is at the other side of the street, Matthew shouts out her name "Katie"...she screams and suddenly Matthew is on the bonnet of Sadie King's TVR and thrown back onto the ground behind her.

Matthew dies in hospital hours later and Louise and Jessica make up.

Elle (pronounces Ell) Appleton - Jessica and Louise's sister and Arthur's eldest daughter, who lives in Sydney Australia arrives. Joe is the only one to realise her drinking habbits, as he finds her swigging bottles of gin in her car while the wake's taking place in the woolpack.

Mark Appleton - Elle's son, is 20, he starts dating Katie, but realises his love lies closer to home...(Fireworks to come)

Sandy Appleton - Elle's younger daughter, is 18, she does not appear in the soap for a few months.

Lara Appleton Jessica, Louise and Elle's little sister and Arthur's youngest daughter, Lara is the star of a top New York Drama (Basically Sex in the City), Sadie King, who was banned from the wake turns out tobe a MASSIVE fan of the show! Lara beds Rodney the night of the funeral, before leaving him asleep the next morning to jet off to New York, not to return.

Now I have got all the new characters I have some possible cast to be them.

I was planning for Elle and Lara to be guest appearances, Lara for 1 episode and Elle for a few. But Mark to decide he is staying in Emmerdale for good.

Now those two names may seem a little bit odd to be in an Emmerdale storyline, but i thought it could be a bit of humour and a bit of publicity for the show if they were in it as guest characters, you could have those jokes, like "Not this song, I'm getting another drink" for Elle when I Should Be so Lucky comes on...lol, just a thought.

Furthur ahead...

Joe and Debbie become friends, they sneak into the garage to smoke at night only for an accident to occur and Joe fights the smoke and flames to find Debbie. But she's outside safe! Will Joe Make it out?...Yes he does.

Charity does some research into Sadie, only to discover she gave up a child when it was 3, a month before meeting Jimmy!!!!

Mark and Sarah fall in love, even though Mark is going out with Katie and Sarah is going out with Andy. They have a big argument at Butler's Farm where Andy throws Sarah and Mark out, and is left alone with Katy, she tries to make things up between them, but he's not having any of it and throws her out as well.

Joe tells Mark and Sarah that Matt would be disgusted by their behaivour. To which they decide to break up.

Jessica starts seeing Rodney and within a week they are engaged.

Charity and Matthew (King) get drunk in the woolpack and end up sleeping together, Matthew is tottally confused in the morning, he cant remeber much and with knwoledge of Charity's past he leaves £50 on the bed.

Charity and Matthew end up getting together PROPERLY

And Sadie's son is JOE.

There's confusion over which family to choose, the Kings or Appletons, theres a huge divide after Matthew's death, Joe decides to run away with Debbie.

...yes I do realise that if Joe did choose to be a King he could be called Joe King.

I like the characters you've created, I think an extension to Louise's family would be brilliant, would give the character a lot more scope like Val's entrance has for Diane.

Keep up the ideas!

A bit more:
Joe and Debbie hide out in one of Andy's unused Hay lofts, for a night before they decide where to go, tragedy strikes when a lose board falls through plummeting Joe and Debbie to the bricked up barn below.

Its pitch black and Debbie's bleeding badly, Joe searches round in the darkness until he finds a tall ladder (with something round it to stop you falling back) and he climbs up with Debbie on the ground beneath waiting for help...he takes the final few rungs of the creaking ladder, telling Debbie to stay back, he takes a gasp as he reaches the hay loft floor, a moment of silence is followed by the retching sound of the heavy metal ladder cage falling back picking up high speeds and falling straight down onto Debbie killing her imediately.

Police surround Andy's farm, Andy invites Joe to live on the farm with Daz and himself.

Mark's younger sister Sandy arrives in the village with a load of cash her mother gave her to set up her life in there. Instead of investing, Sandy swans in with a mercedes convertible, posh clothes and perfect hair. Andy falls for her, they sleep together, but the day later Sandy gets bored of Andy's charm and sets her sights on Matthew King. In a series of flirtaceous attempts she finally gets her man!

A man comes into the woolpack on a few occasions and scared Jessica a bit with his staring. Then he lets himself in one night when Jessica is all alone with his suitcases, telling her he's left his wife for Jessica. She's scared when he wont let her leave, she starts to force him off her so he gets more physical and throws her to the ground angry that she doesnt feel the same for him as he does for her, but as it seems he's going to attack her, Jessica jumps up and tries to get something to constrain him, he breaks free lunging at Jessica when suddenly theres a smash and he collapses to the ground reveling Diane stood there looking shocked with the top half of the broken wine bottle used to smash him over the head with.

Cain threatens Joe in the street of the village to stay away from Debbie's funeral, Joe see's red and attacks Cain punching him to the ground and kicking him then tells him that he's not going to the funeral for Debbie's sake.
Joe talks to Andy about what Debbie said in the barn about wanting to be with Charity over Paddy and Emily because she was her real mum, so Joe decides to go up to Hodgkins Farm to tell Sadie that he wants to become a King. Jimmy ends up adopting him and its happy families...or is it?
