This Is My First Story So I Will Try My Best

Grace sat there she couldnt belive her eyes. Up until a few weeks ago she would have said her life was perfect She had a great job, a lovely appartment and most of all some one to love,Carl king! Grace admitted that it wasnt the perfect paring but one things for sure she was the happiest she had been for a while. The thrill of the relationship and the mystery of when it was all going to happen next exighted both him and her.

Well this was all until Darrasi caught them and gave her the ultimatum ditch carl or lose the job? She struggled with this decision her heart saying carl but her head saying the job and if grace remebered one thing that her dad taught her it was to all ways follow your head. So she ditched carl and no matter how many times he called ot text her to tell her he was missing her she knew even though she wanted to she couldnt let him back in. The threat from matt was the last straw she knew then that she had to give him up!

The next few weeks were a blur for grace she'd thrown her self into her work and her carrer was on the up again but still once again there was a large gap in her life and once again she was all alone! It was late on that friday night when carl called she answered the phone but was very distant with him.

Carl was still mad for grace and would give anything to be back with her . All the time he was in france he thought of her, thinking back to the times they spent together, all the times they had kissed and the times they had spent days and nights together. God he loved her! Graces feelings were much of the same no matter how many times she tried to ignore them.

Carl had tried to see grace on several occasions since returning from france but she had pushed him away, it was very clear she didnt want to though! Carl had to do something to catch her attention he got arrested for drink driving! Grace was called in to work to deal with the matter, she was shocked to see how much he would risk for her and then she knew she had to let him see her!

Carl was released with a fine and 3 points on his licence, he didnt care though at least he had seen grace!

The police car took carl up to home farm, matt and jimmy waiting at the front door. Matt looked at carl and said " Did all this to see our "grace" did we?" Carl wasnt in the mood " shut up matt im well over her , just went out for a few with some lads and couldnt be bothered to wait for a taxi thats all!" Matt looked inconvinced but carl simply stormed passed. Carl went upstairs and into his room. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, his wallpaper still a picture of him and grace one of the only things matt hadnt deleted. His phone bleped while still in his hand It was a message from grace!

"Carl im sorry you had to do all this for my attention its made me realise how much you really do want me and how much i really do want you! tomorows my day off if you want to talk i will be at mine xx g"

Carl smiled! He felt like shouting it from the rooftops that he was going to see grace again and with that he went to sleep.
He woke next morning 07:35 read the clock, grace wouldnt be up but still he was going! He quickly got changed, brushed his teeth and raced down stairs. Matt and jimmy both still in bed he had no explaining to do so he was off!

He rang graces mobile since there was no answer at the door, a weary grace answered "hello" "Morning Gourgous" carl replied
"where are you" grace questioned " outside your front door" carl replyed "your keen" grace answered " im coming now!".

The Front door Opened and there was grace standing there. Carl wrapped his arms round her and held her tight. " Carl we need to talk!" grace said. They both sat on the sofa and talked. Carl told grace about being bundled off to france and grace told carl about matthews threat. Carl was so angry at matthew how dare he how would of he have felt if carl had threatend sadie! Carl moved closer to grace and promised her that matthew would never be able to get her. They then both held each other it felt just like before so right yet so wrong! And with that they headed to bed, grace knew it was going to get even more complicated because there was something she hadnt told carl!

Grace woke early with carl next to her. He was still asleep so she watched him sleep for a while. As she watched him she wondered how he would take the news and what his reactions would be. Grace climbed out of the bed and put on her dressing gown she went and sat on the balcony. The balcony was a great place to think and a place where she often solved her problems. She lay back on the sun lounger the sun starting to rise and though. She always thought she would never be in this situation and it was always a situation she regretted not having. There was only one option for grace she never belived in the things you could do about it. Grace got up from the lounger and went into the kitchen she could only handle water , coffee made her feel sick. It was weird she thought even though she wast that far she still suffered some symptoms. Grace put a protective hand on her stomach its alright she said " mummys here". Grace had found out only a few days ago herself and was still coming to terms with it. The baby couldnt be any older than four weeks and still here she was thinking all about its future! She knew one thing for sure though carl had to know, graces dad was in very much respects alot like tom king very controling and lead her life but at least she had a dad something she was sure her baby needed! After all she though carls a great person and im sure hes got nothing hide!

Carl woke up to find grace in the kitchen. He came up from behind and wrapped his arms round her waist , she turned round and kissed him. Carl went over to the kettle " grace do you want a coffee?" The smell had already hit grace and she ran to the toilet where she proceded to be sick. " Grace are you ok?" a concered carl asked " yeh im fine" Grace replyed. She came out of the bathroom and proceded to get ready for work. Carl kissed her as she left for work there was no chance she could turn in later or skive else darasi would know who she was with.

She was sitting in her office, there was nothing much she had to, do these past few weeks she got on top of everything and was well ahead in her paperwork. Her and carl were texting each other pritty much like normal except both of them being more careful. There was a knock on her office door, she put her phone away and shouted come in. It was donna she looked really upset!
Grace and Donna wernt exactly best friends but donna thought grace was a one to be trusted and a one to look up to. Grace asked her what was wrong and donna told her all about marlon and eli but of corse had to leave out the bit about the robbery! She told grace that she was right when grace had told her you have hardley no private or social life being a police woman. At that minute Darrasi walked in carrying two cups of coffee, grace rushed out to be sick, god this looks so suspicious grace though.

She returned to the her office and sat back at her desk. Both Donna and Darassi looked at her! Grace thought how long can i keep a secret and if darassi finds out hes going to know who the father is! She grabbed her phone and bag lying that she had a doctors appointment to go to. Grace sat in her car and dialed carls number " Carl I Need to see you now" she said "theres something i need to tell you"! She Drove Off this was it she was going to tell carl he was going to become a father!

Grace pulled up in the same spot where they always do on that same country lane. Carl had arrived a few minutes earlier looking rather angry! They both left they cars and came face to face. Nows it grace do it she thought! Carl kissed grace but seemed rather distant, "whats wrong?" grace asked. "Nothing just coleen and the kids" carl shaply replied " No need to take it out on me! so why whats happend?" Grace asked "Just coleen is saying that im not much of a dad, never having the kids but ive had a rough time since christmas! But i suppose shes right im not being a very good dad at the minute" Carl stated. Grace look at her stomach wondering if it was a good time for this to all happen. Carl continued " i really do need to be a good dad to these kids we used to be so close, i really need to do these kids good especialy since i want more in the future" Carl looked at grace her face rather shocked " so what are you saying? that you see me as a long term partner and future mother or that ill do until you find that woman?". Grace pulled away from carl as if she was about to walk off. " Grace i see us being together for a while and yeh having kids its just not right now, right now would be the worst time, please grace dont leave me again"!

Grace told carl she would ring later and with that she got back into her car, both driving off. Grace driving back to work started to cry, she knew that she had to make the baby and her job the main focus and leave carl behind! The rest of the work day seemed to drag pathetic little crimes was all she seemed to deal with these days but her job brought the money in and on good days she liked it!

She put the key into the back of the door locking it behind her and pressed play on the answer machine. All 6 messages were off carl wanting to know why she was ignoring his calls and texts. That night she felt alone and empty but knew it was for the best if she was to do right for her and the baby. As she was about to get into bed she noticed it on the floor it was carls hoodie, he must have left it off last night. She picked it up and hugged it tight it smelt just like him and that made her cry even more!

She woke early, her phone had been off so she thought she should turn it on. Her phone flashed up there was several missed calls and texts from carl but there was also one text message from donna.
Hi Grace hope everything went ok at doctors? im here if you want to tell me anything coz im always sharing all my problems and mistakes with you tehe from donna x

God thats all that she needed people starting to get suspicious especially donna ,her sister jimmys fiance kelly and her mother spreads news faster than the news at 10!

Grace was so glad it was her day off infact she had the whole weekend off! Now the only problem was just what to do with her, the baby and carl!

Carl sat there looking rather down. "Whats wrong with you" jimmy asked "Nothing" carl replied " you know what lets go for a drink, matt will pay for the full sup up!" "Matt will not pay for the full sup up!" matt piped up. Jimmy and matt laughed while carl just about cracked a smile. " Come on jim, just leave him here if hes going to be like that!" so jim and matthew left.

Carl looked at his phone still nothing from grace and it looked as if she wouldnt be relpying anytime soon. He decided he would go on a walk, clear his head sort out what was going to happen with grace and the kids. He had been walking for a while just around the top fields and the estate when he spotted a familiar face!
" Oi chas" He shouted " Carl im really not in the mood to talk to you ever after what you said to me" Chas snarled at him "Look chas im sorry but i really need to talk to you not about us i really need advice" Carl pleeded " Look Ive got 5 mins and thats it" Chas said " Well you know when youve messed up with a woman but you thought everything was alright then she just ignores you, what does that mean?" Carl asked " Well it means you have done something wrong and theres something this woman feels she carnt talk to you about, and any way i thought we wernt talking about us!" Chas said " Were not" Carl said sharply " whatever carl i hope you and lover girl are really happy together just get a life and get out of mine!" chas shouted

Carl felt really low at this point he was loosing everybody he loved or once loved! He knew though that one thing was certain he couldnt give up on his kids!

Carl drove to coleens he needed to see thomas and anya! He pulled up and knocked at the door. "Daddy" They both screemed and ran into his arms " go and get your things your coming to dads for the weekend" Carl said Cheerly " yeahh" they both screamed and ran to get their things. Coleen wasnt so warm with carl but he was here to look after his kids she thought and surely thats all that matters.

They set off back to home farm it was a long journey but an overnight drive wasnt that bad at least the kids will sleep he thought. He reached for his mobile on the hands free dock and typed in graces number, it rang and rang but still no answer! Carl thought what had he done and why does he always mess things up but at least he had thomas and anya and he wasnt going to mess things up with them! By the time he had arrived back in the village it was breakfast time and with the kids who havnt eaten for hours he took them cafe hope

"2 bowls of cereal and a large coffee please donna" He asked
" Ok ill bring them over" Donna replied

The breakfasts were brought over by donna who sat down at the next table to chat to jamie "Hi jamie hows you and lousie?"
"Fine thank you and Hows work going" (avoiding the subject of marlon) Jamie asked
"Its great ive been helping baraclough at the minute preparing for the open day on saturday, shes a really nice woman; you bringing tj to the open day?"

That comment made carl smiled he would take thomas and anya along entertainment for them and a chance for him and grace to talk!

Grace meanwhile had been feeling the affects of pregnancy kick in her disliking of coffee got worse and morning sickness had well and truley kicked in! Work seemed to make her more tired! She sat at her desk typing up her speech for the open day thinking it will be one day her taking her own child!

It was the open day and grace woke up feeling very much not in the mood. She didnt feel refreshed or anything still as tired as she was yesterday. Grace got out of bed and went into the shower, at least my morning sickness is ok this morning she thought. She got out of the shower and proceded to get ready. All ready to go then her phone rang, it was darassi "Hello Grace" "yes darassi im on my way" "good but i wasnt ringing to speak about that" Graces face dropped" oh what were you ringing about then?" "Vaughn wants to know are you taking part in the stunt show this year before he gets someone to fill you place?" "Oh erm i'd rather not sorry" "Grace if theres something going on i'll find out about it you seem to be diffrent, diffrent from the normal grace and diffrent carl grace. is there anything you want to tell me" "No Nothing and anyway ive got to go, See you there" And with that she hung up! She looked at her stomach ( 5 weeks today) and thought what have i done! Already she would give her life for that baby and she did love it just it was at the wrong time thats all.

Grace arrived at the police station open day and there was greeted by vaughn. They walked through the station and disscussed the runnings of today. The exited through the back door to see it was already starting, hundreds of kids swarming around with there parents. The show was going really well, grace had done her speech and this time it was a sucsess! Grace was walking back to the station after her speech to talk to vaughn but was stopped on her way. " Excuse me Miss ive lost my daddy" The little blonde hair girl said about to burst in to tears "Oh Well we will have to go and find him" said grace reasuring " But first i need to know your name and your dads name" The girl who was much calmer now replyed " Im Anya Mary Grace King, After my Gran and My Dads Called Carl King, hes with my brother thomas". Grace thought oh god that was the last person she wanted to see but she had to get anya back to carl.

After a search round they found carl and thomas by the police cars " Wow dad i want one of these when im older" Thomas stated!. Anya ran over to her dad and hugged him tight " I thought i'd lost you for good, i came off the bouncy castle and couldnt see you!" Carl replied " And what did i say, stay on the bouncy castle if you dont want to come and see the cars and i'll be back soon" "Sorry Dad" Anya said bursting into tears. Carl Hugged her tigher and then told thomas and anya they could have a look round on there own. They both smiled and ran off. "Grace whats happened to us?" carl asked grace "Dunno" grace just looked blank "Well your the one who returns no calls and texts" Carl exclaimed "Ive just been buzy and this isnt the place to talk about it, ill ring you promise!" Grace sounding if she was about to burst into tears "Ok Sorry" Carl said and both walked off. She watched carl for the rest of the day, he was a good dad really she thought!

Everyone was leaving and the police officers returned back into the station, talking about today. Vaughn who had been missing for most of the afternoon came running into the main office where they were all sitting. " Team" He said looking shocked "we have movment on a case and its looking as if this could solve it!" "What case do we have movment on?" Grace asked " Tom Kings murder and it looks like you were on the right lines!" Repled vaughn!

this is really good. i love the carl and grace storyline at minute and this is really good cant wait to read the next part and find out whether she tells Carl she is having his baby and if they find out Carl is the killer xo

"Grace your in this car with me" Shouted vaughn "And the rest of you get a move on" Grace drove while vaughn explained, he told her that on the bottom of the statue there was some dna found and it wasnt toms so they matched it up with the suspects and it matched CARL KINGS! Grace looked at him horrified and suddenly felt sick "O'my god so hes the killer" "Well its not 100% but it certainly makes him the prime suspect so you were right it was one of the king brothers!" Grace carried on driving towards homefarm she had to keep it together for the sake of herself and her job!

They all stood at homefarm doorway waiting for an answer. This was the last thing she expected to happen, pregnant by a killer but no he couldnt be the way he took care of her, the way he held her and made her feel safe Surley it was all a mistake! The door swung open it was matthew "What do you's want?" Darassi about to speak, vaughn interupeted " its graces case!". Darassi shot a filthy look at her, he had so much on her that if he hadnt kept his mouth shut she wouldnt have even had this job!

" Matthew were here to see carl is he in?" Grace said in a professional manner. "Carl its grace and her lot here to see you!" Matthew shouted. Carl stood at the door "Carl king, we are arresting you for the murder of your father a Mr Thomas King!" Grace said almost about to burst into tears but she kept them inside. Jimmy and matthew looked in horror as carl was bundled into the police car that grace was driving. "Grace you drive him back to the station will see you in 20 mins Me and the others have alot to do her!"

Grace and carl where driving to the police station when she suddenly stopped and said " Carl what have you done please just tell me the truth?" "Grace i killed him but i wasnt ment to honest! It was an argument that got out of hand all because i had to dump chas, the woman i thought was the love of my life but it turned out she wasnt! I feel so guilty there isnt 1 minute goes by where i dont regret it" Carl said bursting in to tears. Grace looked away she didnt know what to say, carl started again " Grace i love you please belive that and whatever has or is happening between us i always will. Chas wasnt the love of my life neither was coleen, i never felt the way i do for you about anyone". Grace then knew she had to tell him " Carl i love you aswell but i carnt be with you! Of corse i belive that you killing your father was an accident, your not like that i really do know that! But carl you'll lose the rest of your family and ill lose my job if we stay together and plus carl ......... im pr-pregnant! and we carnt bring a baby up in this and like you said now would be the worst time! Carl looked shocked " Grace why didnt you tell me i never would have left you and now you've told me this it makes me more sure how much i want and need you!" Grace and carl moved near each other they both held each other with carls hand protectivly on graces stomach. Just at that moment Vaughan and darassi pulled up behind them!
"So whats going on here " Vaughan asked looking very angry
" Sir, ive been seeing carl king for 5 weeks and im pregnant" Grace said, she knew how much carl had risked for her she had to do the same for him!
"You stupid woman, we carnt charge him now, you and him thats classed as tamporing with the evidence, we dont know what youve done to this case and how can i belive you that you've only been going out for 5 weeks! Ahh so that was why carl was never the prime suspect because you wanted lover boy not to get sent down eh! Well grace the case has to be dropped now and we carnt even punish carl! Oh and by the way grace your fired, dont even think about aplying for the police ever again because ill make sure you'll never get in!"
Grace suddenly found the confidence to stand up to vaughan " Its not only me though charles! darassi caught me and carl together and he wasnt even planning to tell you!"
"Darassi is this right?" Bellowed Vaughan
"Erm.Well...."Muttered Darassi
"Well same goes for you as ive just said to grace" "Now both of you get out my sight"
Carl looked at grace, grace couldnt bare to look at him!
"Ive just lost my job and everything else for you" She said to carl in floods of tears, clutching her stomach. She got out the car and threw the keys at carl " Go wherever do whatever but ive got something to do!" "But its pitch black, grace come back please" "ill meet you at home farm later but theres something i need to do!"

Grace walked into emmerdale grave yard not a place she'd visit often on a personal front. She walked to the furthest grave in the furthest corner "Albert Thomas Baraclough" She read! God she hated that bloke, the person who she called father but at this minute she would give anything for his advice! She sat at the grave and started to talk "Dad i really am sorry and look what happens without you, i get into all this!" Why couldnt something tell her or what to do. Grace started to tidy up around his grave through out all the old flowers that nor her, her mother or brother had bothered changing. She cleared away the weeds that had grown around the grave and there she found the answer " Husband of Gail, father of grace and james" She read "Always folow your head not your heart!". Grace read the line over and over then it hit her thats what she had to do!

She Started to walk back to homefarm and thought what would her head do! She ignored the feelings from her heart and came to the conclusion! The only way she could get her life back and prove to everyone that she hadnt made the biggest mistake of her life was to stand by carl, raise the new baby and most of all swallow her pride!

Heyy Well Im Sorry But This Story Wont Be Updated Often In The Future, Im Starting My Gcse Courses And Have Got Lots To Do ! But I Promise If Ive Got Some Free Time I Will Update It

So Here It Goes: A Year On!

Grace could hardly have called the year easy and Carls year was pritty tough at times too. Well First It was loosing her job then trying to fit in with the kings, then her mother dying and then having baby Harriet! Carls year had been tough too trying to get matt and jimmy to welcome grace, financialy supporting two people, supporting grace when her mother died, Coping and trying not to confess the murder of his father on his anniversary and then finally having baby Harriet!

Both of their years had been tough but they had got through it together and had proved everybody wrong! They both really did love each other and things were getting better when they had moved in togther!
It all sounds to perfect doesnt it and things dont run like this in a soap do they!

Well It all was this perfect until today!
Grace had pushed baby harriet round leeds in her buggy and had arrived back at the home she shares with carl. Having this baby was more energy draining than her old job but she loved being a mum!
Carl greeted her and the baby at the door with a kiss! They both bathed harriet and then put her down. They then sat down to their evening meal and talked:
"Carl ive got something to tell you" Grace Exclaimed
"I Had A Letter off The Poilce Today, Well It Looks Like Vaughn Has realised me and you were for real and has forgiven me. Hes put me forward for my old position back but in london"
Carl Put his knife and fork down
"Grace thats fab, you and harriet are my life now, Take the job. We'll move, It will A Little holiday every weekend for thomas and anya"
Grace could have almost cried, everytime she had though about ending the relationship, she at this moment was glad she didnt!
"ohh Carl, thank you honest im soo happy with you and i Do honestly love you"
Carl reached into his pocket and grabbed out a box
"Grace i was going to do this anyway but im sure this is the best time now ... Will you marry me!"
"Of Course" Grace Replied bursting into tears
"But there is something i need to tell you though if were going to keep no secrets and have trust in this marriage" Carl paused her " I Killed My Father!"

Carl Started
" He Told Me About Scarlett , He told me he loved carrie and the relationship he had with her while mam was dying! He Told me mam was never in his heart anymore, he said that rosemary was the love of his life and he wished he had never met mum cause all us boys caused him was trouble!"
Carl Broke down in tears
" Look thats why i need to tell you this now i need to be honest from the start! my family was built on lies and look how its got us!
He Continued " Grace ... Your the best thing that ever happened to me my dad would have been so proud to have you as a daughter in law but i never honestly belived our relationship would have gone this far, i never belivied we would have children and to be honest i dont belive we still would have been toghter if you hadnt had fell pregnant! But Grace listen them feelings soo disapeard after a few weeks togther i saw the true side to you the one im madly in love with!
Grace Looked at him and started to cry
" Carl im glad you said that honestly now it doesnt make me feel so bad! Carl i felt the same way too and i would have probably given up on us if it wasnt for the baby but now i see us being togther is soo right and i would have made the biggest mistake giving you up!"
Carl Looked at grace with a smile on his face
"Grace i guess us, is true love i had never felt this way until we got serious, i love you but in this relationship please be honest
"Carl, im sure it is and yess this is going to last!"

Carl picked her up and lead her to their bedroom!

They both woke with harriets wimpers, she had slept well it was 9:00! They both got her ready and sorted and headed off out!
They were walking through hotton, carl and grace hand in hand and grace pushing the pram only to be stopped by vaughn!
" Grace " He said "Hows it all going"
"Fine" SheSmiled " Me and carls getting married and this is our baby!"
"Aww Shes Gourgous" He Said " And Congratulations!" Hugging Grace and Shaking hands with carl "Im Sorry About the other year but i presume you got the letter about the job and i really do hope you get it!"
"Thanks " She Said"But we've got to go!"

The All went back to the car and set off to Home Farm
Time to tell jimmy and matthew and the village the news!
She still wasnt entirly sure how she stood with matt and jimmy! and the village well no one had even knew that she had given birth and what was happening with her and carl, they only visited emmerdale now to go to home farm! well here it goes they both thought ad they were sure however it went they would still have each other!

They Pulled up at home farm and got out of the car
They Both Walked hand in hand to the front door with carl carrying harriet.
"Anybody in" Shouted Carl
"Yeh were in the kitchen!" Shouted jimmy
They Walked into the kitchen
"Look we need to tell you's something!" Carl said to matt and jimmy
"Me and carl are moving to london" Grace said
" And were getting married too" Carl Added
Both brothers looked at each other
" Well ive never liked yous toghter but i now do honestly think that yous have done the right thing and grace im sorry about how i treated you i just didnt want my ittle brother to get hurt!" Jimmy had changed too he had become a much stronger person since kelly left him and was happy now since he had settled down with jayne ( the local vet) Who everyone was sure that she loved him back!

Chas looked horrified she rembered that night he had told her she wasnt wife material or mother material, but here he was with flaming grace barraclough, baby and engaged!

She walked over with the drinks and poured a pint over carl
Carl stood up " Look everyone gossip all you want but i love grace and this is our baby togther and yes were getting married! Ive moved on with my life moved out of this village and i honestly have never been happier!"
