“Please forgive me if this isnt that good, its my first time at writing a fan fic but please tell me what you think…” The Haunting Twas a dull day down in Hotten but today was December 25th which for most people in the village is a wonderful time as it is for spending time with family and friends but for one family in the village this day would rather be forgotten than remembered…AT HOME FARM…Twas 7:30am and the sound of Jimmy’s alarm clock rang around the house, Jimmy reached and turned it off, when he got up and stepped out of his room he noticed that Carl and Matthew where already up and about.MEANWHILE DOWNSTAIRS…Matt was looking out the window whilst holding a G ‘n’ T in his hand, Carl was in the kitchen making up a cup of tea.Carl: ( seeing the g ‘n’ t) Isn it to early for that? Matt: ( whilst looking out window) Not really… Carl: Oh Matt: Besides looks like you could do with a drink, didn’t ya get enough sleep Carl: No not really… Matt: How can people enjoy this time of year… Carl: ( not hearing what Matt had said) Did you hear anything last night? Matt: ( puzzled) What on earth you going on about? Carl: I coulda sworn I heard something moving around Jimmy's coming down the stairs...Matt: ( sarcastically) Oooh maybe its dad coming back from the dead Carl: har har ya not funny… Matt: Didn’t say I was, maybe he’s come back to haunt us…well, you Just as Carl was about to reply Jimmy walks in…Jimmy: What’s going on ere then? Matt: Carlos is saying he heard something moving around last night Carl: ( yawning) I swear I did Jimmy: You look shattered Carl: I am Jimmy: Why don’t ya go back to bed Matt: Sure about that the ghost might get him Carl: ( sarcastic laugh) har har Jimmy: Besides the noises ya heard, it was probably the house settling, anyways this place isn’t haunted Matt: Jimmy’s right or it may be your mind playing tricks on ya as today is the anniversary of Dad’s death Carl: Yeah, ya probably right Matt: ( puts drink down) We going up to the cemetery today? Jimmy: Yeah as it is the anniversary, wouldn’t be right if we didn’t Matt: ( looks at Carl) You going to be joining us? Matt: Ya showed up late last time due to being with Barraclough Carl: ( sighs) Jimmy: Don’t start you two Carl: I’m hardly gonna be late when I’m in here aren't I? Matt: Ya never know Carl gets up and heads back to bed…Carl: Wake me when yas are going the cemetery Jimmy: We will Matt gets up and goes to sit at his desk…Jimmy: Matt we need to keep an eye on him today Matt: He’s a big boy Jimmy: I know that but he said hes been hearing things in the middle of the night, but if it is his mind playing tricks we don’t know do we? Matt: Well we shall have to see Jimmy: It mustn’t be easy for him today Matt: It aint easy for any of us Jimmy: We better go and see Scarlet, we can hand her the present we got her Matt: If ya want to Jimmy: Reckon Carl will be okay here for abit? Matt: Yeah he will Matt and Jimmy get their coats and quietly leave whilst Carl is asleep, he’s completely unaware that he is now the only person in the house… |

(PART 2)
MEANWHILE MATT AND JIMMY HAD ARRIVED AT SCARLETTS…
As Jimmy and Matt where walking up the path, Scarlett had already spotted them and was already opening the door
Scarlett: Hiya, weren’t expecting to see yous here
Jimmy: (smiles) We thought we’d drop by, besides we’ve bought you a little something
Scarlett: (smiling) thanks, (puzzled) where’s Carl?
Whilst entering the house…
Matt: Hiding away from the ghost…
Scarlett: Ghost?
Jimmy: He’s been up for most of the night cause he said he heard something last night moving around, so he’s gone back to bed, but he said to wish ya Merry Christmas
Scarlett: Oh, is he alright?
Jimmy: Yeah he’ll be right as rain when he’s had a good sleep
Matt: Take more than that…
Jimmy: oi
Whilst Jimmy and Matt where at Scarletts, Carl was woken by noises similar to the ones he’d heard the night before…
As he moved the duvet, he lifted his head up hoping to see or hear either Matt or Jimmy on the landing...
Carl: (getting up) Matt if that’s you your not funny, or you Jimmy, but thanks for waking me
So he decided to just go and check but he quietly crept out hoping to catch either of his brothers hiding behind one of the doors…as he got nearer to the door he tip-toed but when he got there he suddenly flung the door open..
Carl: haha! got you..(puzzled)…wow there quick movers…
Carl had noticed that all the doors where open, so he quickly looked in all the rooms including the bathroom, but his bros where no-where to be found… but suddenly he heard a noise from downstairs…
Carl: (thinking) Surely they wouldn’t have got downstairs that quick I woulda heard them…
Being curious Carl crept quietly down the stairs…and slowly looks around the door frame…
Carl: That’s weird theres no-one in here, where have Jimmy and Matt gone to then? They wouldn’t have gone the cemetery without me surely and after all I did ask them to wake me…
Carl walks over to the cabinet to get a bottle of g ‘n’ t out…
Carl: (pouring drink) Maybe Jimmy is right, it is me mind playing tricks after all like he said this house isn‘t haunted…
But then just as soon as he said that he hear’s the noise again but it is now coming from upstairs again…Putting his drink down Carl slowly walks back up the stairs…
Carl: (sighing) This cannot be happening…surely it’s someone taking the mickey
The further he walked up the stairs the more he felt colder…at this point he begun to feel a little uneasy…when he reached the top step he looked round, he even looked back down the stairs, he then remembered what Matt had said, that it could be their dad… he begun to have flash backs from that terrible night when his dad fell out the window…
Carl: (crying) Dad? Dad if it’s you I can hear…(looking round) I’m so sorry for what happened…I didn’t mean for ya to fall, it was an accident…
But the house fell silent…just then there was a sound of the door opening, it was Jimmy and Matt they’d come back from Scarletts…
Jimmy: (see’s Carl at top of the stairs) What on earth you doing??
Carl: (turns round and comes down) Where have yous two been?
Matt: Been to see Scarlett
Carl: Oh she like her present?
Matt: Yeah
Carl: Guys I got woke up agen by something moving round
Jimmy: Carl, you need to take it easy…
Carl: I’m fine but what’s strange is that when I went out there was nothing here but then there was a noise from down here and I went I checked nothing was there, then it came from back upstairs….
Matt: Tis probably dad
Jimmy: Matt…(looks back at Carl) it might be ya mind still playing tricks on ya..
Carl: Like I said before ya probably right but why do I keep hearing them? Haven’t yous heard it?
Jimmy: Not really..
Matt: With Jimmy’s snoring I’m surprised we can hear anything…
Jimmy: Har har,
Carl: It has to be something, maybe it is dad..
Matt: If it is dad, he’s probably just checking on how where doing with the businesses
Jimmy: Yeah, so Carl theres nothing to worry about, anyways we better be getting down the cemetery
Carl goes to his desk to pick his jacket and keys up…they leave the house and head for the car…unaware of what’s going to happen whilst they are away, also what they are going to come back to…

(PART 3)
BACK AT HOME FARM:
It was almost going onto 9 o’clock when the Kings returned back home as they had stayed at the cemetery all day…Matt put the key in the door…whilst Jimmy and Carl where arguing about who got the best presents at christmas…
Matt: (opening door) Will yous two stop arguing
Jimmy: Come on Matt, you must wonder who got the best presents
Carl:Yeah, it had to be me..
Jimmy: No was me
Matt walks into the living room and suddenly stops, in shock from what he is seeing. Meanwhile Jimmy and Carl where still arguing, but with them doing so Jimmy walked right into Matt…
Jimmy: Sorry Ma…( sees room )..what the heck?
Carl:What?
Matt:Looks like we’ve had a visitor
Jimmy:On christmas day….
Carl:Maybe they wanted expensive presents
Jimmy:Don’t think so, I mean why would they trash it?
Matt: They maybe looking for something…
Carl: Like what?
Matt:I don’t know
Jimmy:(picking up a photograph) Well if they was looking for something I don’t think they found it
They began to start clearing the mess, when Jimmy heard something upstairs…
Jimmy: (hears noise ) Guys stay quiet
Carl and Matt turn round to look at Jimmy and stop still as not to make a noise….
Matt: What you heard now?
Jimmy:(whispering) I think whoever done this is upstairs (pointing up)
Matt:Well lets go and get them and see why there in here
Carl: We can’t just go barging up there, they maybe armed or something
Jimmy: Carls right…
They all decide to slowly creep up the stairs, hoping to catch whoever is in their house…

Sorry about the delay on this...
(PART 4)
When they go to the top of the stairs, they called out to anyone who might be hiding in any of the rooms…
Matt: (angrily) HELLO!!
The house lay silent…
Matt: HELLO! If theres anyone here they best show themselves…
Jimmy: Yeah sure shouting angrily is really gonna make them come out isn’t it?
Matt:(looking at Jimmy) Well, we can’t exactly be nice can we??
Matt gave Jimmy a stern hardy look...
Carl: Jimmy’s right
Matt: Fine then, ask them nicely to come out and whilst ya at it why not offer them a cup of tea
Jimmy: (looking at Matt) No need to be sarky, best thing we can do to give us a better chance of catching them is to split up… right?
Carl: Right
Matt: Right, only if I stay downstairs because then if they goto run out I’ll catch them
Jimmy: Okay…
But remembering what Carl had said earlier about that whoever it is in the house maybe armed so they each got one of their fathers golf clubs, and split up, Matthew headed back downstairs whilst Carl and Jimmy stay up to search through all the rooms…
MEANWHILE UPSTAIRS…
Jimmy:(pushes bedroom doors open ): Hello, anyone here? Hello!…This is daft, I must of been hearing things…
On the opposite side of the house…
Carl: Hello, is anybody in here? Come on show yourselves… (pushes door and looks in )….hello…nobody in this one either
MEANWHILE DOWNSTAIRS…
Matt looks round and waits for either of his brothers to shout they’ve got someone, so he decides to have a g‘n’t whilst waiting…
MEANWHILE BACK UPSTAIRS…
Jimmy and Carl both return to where they had started..
Jimmy: Well? Take it ya didn’t find anyone?
Carl:(shrugs shoulders) No, no-one they may have left a long time before we got back
Jimmy: I did hear something or someone up here though
Carl: May have been the house settling or an animal outside
Jimmy: Coulda been
Matt hears his brothers talking and goes back to the stairs…
Matt: Well, I take it you didn’t find anyone?
Jimmy: No, must have been the house or something
They head back into the living room and continue cleaning up, un aware that they noise Jimmy heard was caused by someone who was still lurking in the house and watching their everymove…

Short update =]
(PART 5)
The clearing was almost done it had took them a few good hours to do, most of the things broken could be fixed or replaced. But it was not long til one of the brothers noticed a photograph had been altered…
Jimmy: (picks up photograph) What’s this then…
Matt: What’s up?
Jimmy: Look at this, someones ripped me, u, Carl and even Max off and just left dad and then put the photo back in the frame…
Carl: That’s weird… Who would do that?
Matt: I don’t know but we have to find out…
Jimmy: (puts photo back on the fire place) We’ll have to do it tomorrow…
Carl: Yeah but it will probably take awhile as we have many enemies
Jimmy: Its probably someone having a joke
Matt: Some joke, what person would tare a photograph up as a joke??
Jimmy: Your right there but we can’t blame anyone were gonna need proof…
Carl: Proof? What about the CCTV cameras?
Matt: Carl’s right but it’s gonna take hours to go through all the footage..
Carl: Let me take some back to mine, I’ll go threw it there
Jimmy: Good idea, be quicker that way too
They all got the tapes showing the recordings of the day, Matthew, Jimmy and Carl went through them all at Home Farm, they stayed up all night running over all the tapes…by the time they reached the last one it was morning…
Jimmy: I can’t believe the tapes never picked anyone up on em…
Matt: That’s impossible…we have CCTV all around this place, they cannot have avoided them all…
Jimmy: Well they have…
Carl: They musta knew where they all was…
Matt: Don’t be ridiculous, only we know where they are all placed
Carl: I was just saying as it does look that way…
Jimmy: Well getting the culprit isn’t going to be easy if where arguing, where going to either beat them at their own game or play the waiting game..
Matt: Well we can’t do much as we have a business to run, and if you two don’t mind I don’t want to ignore it and we end up running it into the ground
Carl: We have to catch them somehow otherwise they’ll think they’ve got the better of us!
Jimmy: Your both right, we’ll just have to wait and see if anything else odd happens
Matt: (sarcastically) Oooh maybe they’ll drop by next time and leave us a note why they’re doin all this…
Carl: har har
They all decided to leave it for now and catch up with the business…but they did not realise how soon the next spooky goings on was to happen…

(PART 6)
A few days and weeks went by and all remained calm, there was no spooky goings on or noises heard…
Jimmy: (whilst holding the paper ) Haven’t heard any noises or strange gongs on for a few days have you two?
Carl: No not heard a peep
Matt: No, maybe whoever it was got bored and realised they weren’t going to get to us that easy.
Jimmy: Yeah let’s hope so
Matt: We can’t hang around here all day we have a job to do
Carl: (sitting down at the table) I’ll be there shortly
Just as Matt stood up and went to leave something hit him on his back…
Matt: “thump!” (turns around) Was that any of you? (picking up the towel)
Jimmy: (putting paper down ) Was what any of us?
Carl: (looking up ) What?
Matt: Did one of yous throw that?
Jimmy: No I didn’t because it weren’t on here
Matt: Carl?
Carl: Weren’t me either Matthew
Matt: Musta been someone it didn’t decide to throw itself at me did it?
Carl: Maybe it has the hots for you
Matt: (snarling Carl )
Carl: What?
Jimmy: Don’t wind him up Carl
Carl: (chuckling) May have though
Jimmy: You may have knocked it with your arm as ya went past or something…
Matt: Ive not got time to find out who threw it…
Matthew left the kitchen leaving Jimmy and Carl…
Jimmy: Was it you who threw it?
Carl: What, wait, you think it was me?
Jimmy: Well it certainly weren’t me and you’re the only other person in here
Carl: No it weren’t, maybe it was the ghost who wrecked our things a few days ago
Jimmy: You don’t believe that do you?
Carl: No was just saying
Jimmy: Anyway lets leave it, we better go and catch up with Matthew
Carl: Okay…
Jimmy: You go ahead I need to get me files
Carl: Okay see ya later…
Carl left, leaving Jimmy in on his own.
He begun collecting his things together before leaving for the office until he heard a noise…
Jimmy: Hello, Carl? Matthew? That you?
He looked around and seen no-one…Then just as he turnt back round he heard footsteps coming from the hall…
Jimmy: (picking up an ornament ) Hello, who’s there?
There was no answer
Jimmy: I have a weapon, so you better show yourselves…
Closer and closer he crept to the hall way until he reached the doorway, he then slowly looked round…but no-one was there…He decided to get all of his stuff and leave…
Just as he was leaving he turnt round and there was a misty figure standing in the hallway. His hair stood up on end and he went as a white as a sheet, he dropped his files and ran straight out. He got to his car and drove off…

MEANWHILE AT ORCHARD COTTAGE
Carl and Matthew where completely unaware of what was going on back at Home Farm…
Carl:Jimmy’s taking a long time to get back here, he was only getting his files
Matt: Prob…
Before Matt could get a chance to finish in bursts Jimmy, completely out of breathe and pale …
Matt: Whats wrong with you? Looks like you seen a ghost
Jimmy: Your not far off
Carl: What?
Matthew got Jimmy a class of g’n’t and passed it to him…
Jimmy:(taking glass) Thanks
Carl: What happened?
Jimmy: Well not long after you left Carl, I heard noises coming from the hall, at first I thought it coulda been you or Matthew, but then I called out and there was no reply..
Carl: Go on..
Jimmy: I then thought that maybe someone had broken into the house, I picked up an ornament and walked to the hall but there wasn’t anyone around. So I decided to leave, I got my stuff and just as I turnt round I seen this misty figure standing there…
Matt: Sure that weren’t your imagination?
Jimmy: No, it was clear as day, I didn’t hang around though I dropped the files and ran straight out the house and came straight here
Carl: I knew there was something else in that house ever since I heard the noises that night on Christmas Day
Jimmy: That’s why we never seen anything on the cameras when we checked them all
Matt: Might have been dad
Carl: What? You’d really think he would come back to haunt this place?
Matt: Either that or hes checking on the business…
Carl: Don’t talk daft…
Jimmy: Matt could be right, he won’t be hanging round for anything else
Matt: Might be after you Carl
Carl: Har har, we’ll have to go back and get your files Jimmy
Jimmy: Ok, but I’m going to wait outside
Matt: It doesn’t take all three of us, Carl you stay here. Me and Jimmy will go
Matt and Jimmy get into the car and drive back to home farm…
Matt: Jimmy you sure it weren’t your imagination?
Jimmy: Matt, it was clear as day
Matt: Okay, just thought it might have been
They pull up outside Home Farm…
Matt: (sees door open) Jimmy, you’ve left the door open, anyone coulda walked in…there could be anyone in there now…
Jimmy: Sorry was panic, I was too scared to stay and lock the door…
Matt: That doesn matter now, we gotta check the house to ensure we have no uninvited visitors
Jimmy: I’ll wait here
Matt: No you wont say if there armed or jump me whilst inside?
Jimmy: Like that’s gonna happen, Ill give Carl a ring he’ll come round
Matt: What helps he gonna be??
Jimmy: Three onto one, be easier to stop then…
Matt (rolls eyes): I’m going in, besides there probably isn’t anyone in there…
Matt enters the home, whilst Jimmy is on the phone to Carl
Matt: (looking round) Hello? Anyone in here?? Hello??, this is daft there is nobody in here…
Jimmy puts the phone down after talking to Carl and heads in…
Jimmy:Matt?!?! Where are ya?
Matt (coming down the stairs): Told ya Jimmy there is nobody around
Jimmy: That’s a relief…
Matt: Well ya might aswell phone Carl back, seeing as there is nobody around
Jimmy: Yeah ya right…(turning round to head outside to ring Carl)
Matt: Where did you drop your files??
Jimmy: (turns round) In the hall way
Matt: Jimmy…there not there..
Jimmy: (putting phone down) What?!? I did drop them there…
Matt: Well they aint there now
Jimmy: (looks around ) Oh my god, there in the living room on the table
Matt: What??
Jimmy: I swear I did not leave them on the table, there spread out too, as if someone was looking at them…
Unknown to them Jimmy wasn’t to far off, someone had been looking at the files and now it was watching the two brothers…
