The family were all huddled around a motionless Carl, suddenly they heard sirens and a blue flashing light. 'About bloody time' Jimmy said as he got up to go over to the ambulance, 'look its my brother, you've gotta help him' he said. 'What happened?' the paramedic asked, 'he was hit by a car' Scarlett said, and tears started to fill her eyes again. 'Whats his name?', 'Its Carl' Jimmy answered, 'Ok, right Carl can you hear me?' the paramedic said as he bent down to check on Carl, but there was no response. 'Right we ae going to have to get him to hospital as soon as we can, that head wound looks bad' the paramedic said to his collegue as they went and got the back brace. They began to slowly get Carl onto the board and into the back of the ambulance, 'i want to go with him' Matt said, and climbed into the back. 'Right i will follow in the car' Jimmy said, and gave Matt a reasurring smile, Jimmy could see Matt was emotional, he just hoped Carl was gonna get through this, he didnt know how they would all cope with another death in the family. As the ambulance quickly roared away, a taxi pulled up outside the pub. 'Well that looks like its me' Chas said. She had been very quiet throughout the ordeal, she didnt really know where she fitted in, she was just a friend now, well not even that. 'What your still going?' Scarlett said, 'Carl could die!'. 'Just let me know what happens ok,' Chas said. ' I cant believe your leaving' Scarlett said, 'Well there is nothing here for me now, i understand your upset about Carl but it really doesnt make any difference, i still have no one' Chas answered, she could tell she was getting upset and she just wanted to leave. 'Yeah but you do!' Scarlett shouted at her, 'you still have Carl!, he still loves you!' 'I havnt got time for this' Chas said, 'Ive gotta catch my flight, just please let me know when you hear from the hospital. 'Chas you really dont understand!' Scarlett said, but Chas was getting into the cab, 'No Chas wait! Ive gotta explain' Scarlett banged onto the window. Chas rolled down her window, 'Look Scarlett, im really sorry, but i dont believe you, Carl knew i was leaving, but he didnt say anything, its too late', Chas rolled the window back up and the car started to move. 'No Chas!' Scarlett shouted after the cab, but it was already half way down the road. She couldnt believe this was happening, she knew Carl loved Chas and that she couldnt let her leave, especially now this had happened to Carl. Scarlett knew that her brother would want her to fight for his relationship if he couldnt and she wasnt going to let him down. 'Scarlett what the hell is going on?' Jimmy asked walking up the road, 'look i will explain it in the car just please we have gotta stop that cab!' Scarlett said and quickly got into the car.

Scarlett and Jimmy roared down the village road in the direction of Chas's cab. 'look i know you think this is important' Jimmy said, 'but we really need to be getting to the hospital, Carl is seriously hurt', 'yeah i know Jim' Scarlett answered, 'but if Carl does pull through, then he will never forgive me for letting Chas leave without knowing the truth.' 'Ok' Jimmy said, 'but if we dont find her soon thats it, alright?' Scarlett nodded in agreement and prayed they would find Chas soon.
'Are we nearly there yet?!' Matt shouted at one of the paramedics, ' a few more minutes' he replied. Carl was still unconscious, he hadnt moved since the accident and the paramedics were finding it hard to stop the bleeding from his head injury. 'Is he going to make it?' Matt asked as a tear silently rolled down his cheek, ' Look you just need to stay strong for your brother, and we will do everything we can to keep him alive' the paramedic answered. Matt just nodded and took hold of Carl's hand, 'It ok mate, im here....im here'.
'There!' Scarlett shouted as she spotted a maroon mondeo in the distance, 'That's Chas's taxi!', Jimmy began to speed up and started bibbing his horn and flashing his lights at the taxi. Once the cab had finally stopped Jimmy pulled up behind it and he and Scarlett got out. 'What the hell is going on here?' Chas said as she got out of the car, ' Oh i should have known it would have something to do with you' she said turning to look at Scarlett. 'Look love, im really sorry for what has happened to Carl, but at the end of the day nothing has changed', ' No Chas you dont understand!' Scarlett pleaded with her, ' I know you think your trying to help, but its just making it worse kid, Carl had plenty of time to tell me how he felt and you know him he wouldnt keep his gob shut about something like that, so im sorry i just cant believe you because its not you who should be telling me this' Chas said and she reached out to stroke Scarlett's arm, 'Just let me go hey, I need to get on with the rest of my life now', and she turned to walk back to the car. 'Well you tried your best' Jimmy looked at Scarlett, 'Yeah but it wasn't good enough was it!' Scarlett shouted back at him and angrily pushed her hands into her pockets. 'Whats that?' Scarlett thought, as she felt something cold and metal like in her pocket. 'Oh my god' she whispered as she realised what it was, ' Chas! Chas!' she shouted as she ran after her, ' Scarlett its over!' Chas shouted back, 'no its not' Scarlett said smiling, 'and i can prove it!' and with that she pulled out a shiny, silver braclet from her pocket.

Scarlett handed the bracelet to Chas, ' here, this is for you' she said. 'For me?' Chas asked as she took the bracelet and held it in her hand, 'yep' Scarlett nodded. Chas looked at the bracelet, it was gorgeous she thought, 'whos it from?' she asked , 'take a guess' Scarlett answered, 'Carl' Chas softly whispered. 'Turn it over' Scarlett said, and so Chas did, and she read those four little words she had been longing for Carl to say to her 'Chas, your the one'. A single tear rolled down Chas's cheek, 'when did you get this...how?..i dont understand' she said, 'This all happened tonight' Scarlett said, ' I saw Carl earlier and he was really upset, and i knew it was about you, and he basically realised that he wanted you back', Chas bit her lip, she couldnt believe this was happening, she still loved Carl but thought there was never any chance of them getting back together. 'And then i saw him just before we were about to go into the pub for your leaving doo' Scarlett continued, ' He was so excited' she smiled, 'he showed me the bracelet and then he was just going to the car to show me the card he had got but then...' Scarlett's words trailed off, she didnt want to think about what had happened next. 'Its ok' Jimmy said and put his arm around her, 'Look i know alot of stuff is obviously going on here, and as usual i have not got a clue about any of it' he said, 'but we really need to be getting to the hospital'. ' Yeah ok' Scarlett said and she looked at Chas, ' Chas?', Chas just stood there still stunned at what has just been said, but finally she spoke 'Look ive just got one thing to say to you' Chas started, 'Can i share a lift?'

Thats ok megan it is up to you if you want to kill Carl off but I think that most people will disagree but it is up to you.
