A very kind, thoughtful friend of mine (yes I have 1 or 2), has just emailed me with details of a cricket match at Doncaster this Sunday (27th) afternoon. We're not entirely sure of the address yet, but it's somewhere near the racecourse. The usual team members are going plus Lorraine Chase and Julia Mallam. Perhaps any other Board members can post any more details, if and when they receive them. Cheers and have fun!

Sorry, we've just had a further message from Emmerdale saying this is a corporate event - not for the general public. So the next cricket match will be against The Bill on 3rd August. Has anybody got any more details for this match, like exact location?

I think you've got mixed up MG.
The Bradford match against The Bill is on 3rd August then the match on the 24th August (Bank Holiday) is in Bournemouth.
I don't have an exact location for her Bradford match but hopefully another member will post details here. Pleeeeaaase.

From Doncaster today
But this most English of scenes was more than just a cricket match. A celebrity side from Emmerdale took on a team of other celebrities to raise money for the Bluebell Wood children's hospice. Other well-known faces turned out to see the fun and demonstrate their support for the appeal. More than £10,000 was raised by the event at Doncaster Cricket Club, which saw Tony Booth and Patrick Mower rubbing shoulders with Lorraine Chase and hospice patron Chris Walker. Sharon Needham, representing the hospice appeal, said: "It was a fantastic day. It was supposed to finish at about 5.30-6pm but some people were still there at 11pm drinking champagne in the dark." She added that it was hoped the match would be an annual event and the Emmerdale team had already promised to return next year.
