STARS of hit TV soap Emmerdale will be in Derry this weekend to take part in a fun day at Creggan's Rath Mor centre.
The actors who play Paddy Kirk, the affable village vet, and Laurel Potts, the village's scatter-brained cleaner and girlfriend of the local vicar, will be at the centre on Saturday to mark the opening of a new cafe and restaurant at the Costcutters store.
There will be a host of activities and entertainment for all the family during the fun day, including a Q102 roadshow, face painting, balloon modelling, storytelling and live music by the Gay McIntyre Trio.
Donal Ennis, Manager of Costcutter Superstore, said: "The new 66 seat restaurant/café will create six jobs and has been put in place to meet all the needs of shoppers and local residents as part of the shopping experience now available at Rath Mor."
Conal McFeely, Development Executive with Creggan Enterprises Limited, which manages the centre, said he was delighted that the Emmerdale stars were coming to the city.
"Everyone is welcome and this is an opportunity for local retailers and businesses to thank local residents and shoppers for their ongoing support."
