It was good to get back into the UK and watch the cricket. Despite fears that the heavy rain would call the game off; the sun came out and the game commenced at 2:30pm. Skipton were put into bat first and they reached a grand total of 207 runs off 30 overs; despite some very good fielding by the Emmerdale team. John Middleton had a very good game and he managed to bowl out the last batsman with a ferocious drive down the centre. After tea, Emmerdale came out and gave it their best shot and the runs came thick and fast in reply to the unmerciless bowling of the Skipton team. Matthew Booth (paul Marsden) had a brilliant innings hitting about 4 boundaries and was the top run scorer for Emmerdale. Despite the cold wind and squally weather, I sat through the entire match to see Emmerdale lose, reaching a competent total of 163 runs all out. However, it was well worth flying in from Hong Kong to see the team in action and to enjoy the match. If any of the Emmerdale cast read this, thank you for a great season- can't wait til next summer's matches.

Thanks for letting me know the score Tabbycat. I spent most of the match in the clubhouse trying to keep warm, only emerging for the odd photo and autograph. I didn't know who'd won/lost the game and just presumed they fixed it to draw equal like at some of the other games this season!

Hi Kath2004. You usually get a variety of cast members but the regulars this season have been Chris Chittell, John Middleton, Karl Davies, Matthew Booth, Patrick Mower, Liam O'Brien, Lorraine Chase, Frazer Hines with Tom Lister and Ken Farrington playing at one game.

They are a great team- working hard to raise money for countless charities.
Though it was cold yesterday, I stayed the distance for the match (just to ogle John Middleton) and ended up shivering but the suffering was worth it.
Anybody know if there's any more matches in the next few weeks?
PS Just cried at tonights episode- true romantic I am!

There's a football match next week and the possibility of a cricket match in Doncaster, mid September, but this might be corporate only and not open to the public. Last year it was corporate only so don't hold your breath.
