Pictures can be found in 'READERS PICTURES'Mr & Mrs BogSnorkeller and Mr & Mrs Cass today attended a charity cricket match at Rotherham Town CC. It was disappointing as it was not up to the normal standards of Emmerdale cricket, this not being down to the players but the charity organisers. From the cast there was Peter Martin, Danny Lawrence, Dale Meeks, Karl Davies and Sherrie Hewson selling her face for photos. Good old Roly Plant and one or two of the usual suspects were there from the crew but the biggest ommision was Chris Chittell whom Roly told us was poorly. Emmerdale were playing an 'all stars' team and the ones we recognised were: Rik Wakeman, Paul Shane, Dougie Brown, 2 Grumbleweeds, Sid Little, Duncan Norville, Tommy Cannon, Mike Ryall, most of whom had to be recusitated in order to play. The good news is that Emmerdale won even though Karl Davies was accused of batting and bowling like a 'lass'...Which was true.

I was there too and disappointed by the under-par match. It lacked Chris Chittell's exuberance and felt flat. I didn't stay to the end as I got a bit cold! I also saw Karl Davies trying to "dance" to a dance version of "Hungry Eyes" and coming across as very poncey- Paul would have been horrified!

Me and my hubbie attended this to and have to agree with you Tabbycat that the match did lack Chris's exuberance however we still had an enjoyable day and got some great photos.
We also had a chat with Roly who told us how hard it is putting together a team for these matches so it could be a mixed bag of cast at the next cricket matches to i only hope that Patrick manages to put in a few appearances !

I had been planning to come along for this little event you know, since Sadie was not going to be there I thought meeting Mr and Mrs Boggy in person along with Mr and Mrs Cass would be a nice treat, but at about 8 hours to get there if we had a clear run, it seemed like too much of a long haul. I had thought about booking in as well to get some accomodation and come back Monday, but I had an emergency appointment with the dentist because my jaw is getting worse with my bad gums due to teeth fragments. Upshot is circumstances put paid to our attempt to get there. Plus that old bat of a mother in law has not been too well either. And GL didn't fancy it generally as she was feeling shy about it It sounds like it was not too bad a day out. Hopefully they raised plenty of cash for the charity. I don't think the cricket would have held much interest for me though, it bores me to tears unfortunately But Boggy seemed to watch it.

For me it was the worst match I've been too.... nothing to do with Emmerdale but it was the organisation (or lack of it). We had to put up with girlies with pom-poms dancing about delaying things, then four blokes warbling delaying things further and then a dodgy radio mike delaying things even more. The cricket was fine but by the time they started playing I was getting fed up of the wait so we didn't really watch much.
It was still a nice afternoon in good company though and, as always, the cast and crew were great. And from what I saw of them, the other "celebs" were nice people too.

Yes, we were planning on coming, but didn't. And yes, I was feeling very nervous too.

Well I’ve not been to one of these Charity Matches before but both Mr Cass and I thoroughly enjoyed the day… We had great company too and even the rain stayed away so a good time was had by all…
Yes it was late starting but the cricket was enjoyable and Bobby Knutt as MC was a scream… The little dance team did their best and the band played and deafend us a bit but I enjoyed them...
The one person I did want to see there was Chris but he was poorly but the cast and celebs that were there were very nice and when the game was over and mingled so the public could have their photos taken or to sign autographs.
Now that I’ve gone once I can happily say I will go again.

Yes, we were planning on coming, but didn't. And yes, I was feeling very nervous too. It was a pity that you and DG couldn't come GL... Maybe next time! By the way! Why were you nervous? Was it the thought of meeting Mr Snorks LOL...
