Strikers back for Tommy
Two of the most popular strikers in recent Halifax Town history will be at the Shay tomorrow.
Geoff Horsfield and Wayne Allison have both accepted invitations to appear in Tommy Gildert's testimonial (2.0).
Horsfield scored 30 league goals the season Town won the Conference title in the late 1990s before moving to Fulham in a deal that was eventually, with sell-ons, worth in excess of £800,000.
Almost 10 years earlier, Allison, who has just been offered a new one-year deal by his current club Chesterfield, was sold to Watford for £250,000 after scoring 23 goals in 74 starts for Town.
Many former players are returning to the club to support the game including Jon Brown, Andy Thackeray, Mark Bradshaw, Lee Martin and Kieran O'Regan.
Paul Stoneman, who enjoyed his own testimonial last summer, is also due to play while former boss George Mulhall will direct things from the sidelines.
