From Skegness today
Soap star set to get engines revving
LUCY Pargeter, the actress who plays Chastity Dingle in the popular TV soap Emmerdale, will make a personal appearance at Skegness Stock Car Stadium next Thursday, writes Graham Brown.
Lucy was recently a leading light in the hit TV show Soap Stars Superstar.
She will be on hand to present trophies and generally mix with spectators, signing autographs and having her photograph taken.
This is just one of the tasty ingredients which makes Skegness Stadium the place to be for family entertainment on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the peak holiday season.
Tomorrow's meeting will be the stadium's biggest midweek session of the season as Britain's busiest circuit presents the nation's top attraction, the awesome Brisca F1 stock cars.
This is the only occasion the F1s race in midweek throughout the UK.
The cast list is impressive with the likes of World and European champion Peter Falding joined by Murray Harrison, who recently claimed the UK title at Skegness.
The final should be a bruising affair, with £50 on offer for every lap leader.
Also on Thursdays the popular Las Vegas Stunt Show continue their summer season and the entertainment also includes Monster Trucks and a firework display.
Next Tuesday, August 8, the action will start with divers parachuting into the stadium from 13,000ft, while on track full-blooded high octane action is guaranteed from both the Brisca F2s and Banger Stox.
The F2s will continue their cash-laden midweek series sponsored by the Skegness Standard, which guarantees unrivalled action.
The current leader is Andrew Spence, from Burgh le Marsh.
Both meetings will start at 7.30pm.
Andrew Spence produced the drive of his blossoming career when he beat a star-studded grid to win the Grand Final in the last world championship qualifying round at Skegness last Tuesday.
Unfortunately it was not enough for the Burgh le Marsh driver to gain an automatic semi-final grid position, but he is one of the leading reserves.
Meanwhile Ingoldmells-based Mark Simpson has an outstanding chance of reaching the world final starting line-up.
Simpson is ideally placed on row two of his semi-final, to be staged at Barford, County Durham next month.
A top ten finish there will guarantee him a world final slot.
