Bad boy to turn city lights on A SOAP bad boy is set to draw in thousands of people when he performs the grand Christmas lights switch-on in Cathedral Square. Popular Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle in the ITV soap, has agreed to perform the traditional honour which marks the start of the festive season.
Jeff has been signed up to join the Mayor of Peterborough councillor Michael Burton, Lite FM presenter Keith Dalton and Father Christmas to lead the count down to the switch-on of the city’s illuminations.
Peterborough City Council, in association with local radio station Lite FM, has organised the popular annual event.
Cabinet member for the environment and community safety councillor Graham Murphy said: “We are delighted to welcome Emmerdale’s bad boy to the city to start Peterborough’s Christmas celebrations, and I would urge residents to come along and join in the fun on the night.”
