From Bridlington today
EMMERDALE star Lucy Pargeter had a taste of the sea this week as she filmed in Bridlington as part of a GMTV feature. Lucy, who is famous for her role as Chastity Dingle as well as appearing in ITV's Soapstar Superstar, filmed at Brid Bay Cafe and Brid Bay Fisheries in North Marine Drive. Lucy was in the resort from 8.30am until 6pm on Tuesday, spending the day promoting favourite British dishes such as the fried breakfast, fish and chips and beans on toast. The feature is called Best of British and it will be shown on September 25 and 26, at 7.15am and 8.15am as part of British Food Fortnight. Lucy said: "It is my first time in Bridlington. "I haven't had time to look around but it looks lovely." Accompanied by the crew, Lucy said she was due to film in Harrogate today, sampling other classics such as a roast and steak and kidney pie. They will also travel to London to try out some curries. Maggie Walsh, who has owned Brid Bay Cafe for 12 years, said: "They just rang up and said 'can we come?' They were looking for a nice seaside fish and chip shop and cafe." The crew filmed in Brid Bay Fisheries, which is owned by Roger Othick, in the morning and then moved into the cafe. Maggie said she and the staff all enjoyed the day.
