From Harrogate today.
Taking the lead in race for theatre cash HUNDREDS of runners crossed the finish line at this year's Harrogate Theatre Race. Held in the Valley Gardens, the race was hailed a huge success by organisers Up and Running, who arranged the event in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Harrogate.
They said more than 300 runners had taken part in the 10km run and over 100 had joined in the fun run, which was officially started by Mark Chanock, who plays Marlon Dingle in Emmerdale.
Gillian MacFarlane, of Up and Running, said they hope to have raised thousands of pounds for the Harrogate Theatre Restoration Appeal.
"Congratulations to everyone who took part in this event," she said.
"We have always considered the Theatre Race one that is open to everyone, and so we are thrilled that such a large percentage of the runners are not club runners but people who enjoy keeping fit and the challenge of such a popular event."
