From Saturday express magazine dated 5th May 2007.
My weekend-
Actress Hayley Tamaddon's big television break came when she arrived in the Yorkshire Dales in 2005 to play Delilah Dingle. She has also appeared in The Royal and Where The Heart Is.
She recently won second place on Soapstar Superstar and cooked on Soapstar Superchef, where she and Emmerdale co-star Matthew Bose (Paul) were crowned joint winners.
Hayley, 30, lives in Leeds with her fiance Darren Charles, who is a choreographer.
After I finish filming, Friday night is a good time to go out in Leeds with Darren as we haven't got anything to get up for the next morning! We'll go to one of our favourite restaurants, either Nick's Brasserie or The Living Room, and sit till closing time drinking wine.
After a late one the night before, Saturday morning doesn't usually start until 10.30am when Darren will cook an amazing breakfast for me and bring it upstairs. After that we'll go into Leeds town centre and when we're feeling hungry we head to YO! Sushi in Harvey Nichols for lunch.
We always go food shopping on the weekend so eventually we'll end up in Morrisons. We never leave without buying a DVD - they have such great offers! We'll also pick up the weekend newspapers and read them back at home, in front of the TV. I've become addicted to the internet at the moment, looking for houses - or puppies! If Darren sees I'm on the computer he knows hell have to put the dinner on. He's a really good cook; until I met him I thought I was amazing, but he really outdoes me.
Saturdays are usually late to bed, especially if we go out with some of the Emmerdale cast. There will always be a group who have decided not to go home for the weekend, so if Darren and I aren't seeing my family in Blackpool, or his parents in Grimsby, we'll go out with Matthew Wolfenden [who plays David], who lives next door with his girlfriend, or Adele Silva [Kelly].
On Sundays, we always go somewhere for the day. We love our sleep though, so we are never out of the house before 11am. I love going to York and having a big Sunday lunch in one of the two Russells Restaurants there. The outdoor market is also a must, as is a visit to an old sweet shop.
Every time I go to York, I spend 10 on bags of goodies!
If we don't visit York, we'll head to Ingleton in the Dales. It's really nice to walk around as it has gorgeous waterfalls.
Then, Sunday evening is TV night. We watch, in order, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and, when it's on, Wild At Heart, which I love and have managed to get Darren into watching. Next if s movie time, and I'll get my scripts in order and learn my lines while we're watching it. Then I'll probably nod off in front of the computer and Darren will fall asleep on the sofa!
