Patrick Mower is the archetypal TV tough guy of the seventies and eighties. But his life began in far less glamorous circumstances.
Born in 1940 to a Welsh father and an English mother, he discovered years later that his father was a bigmaist with three other children of whom he knew nothing.
He recounts the story in his autobiography, published by John Blake, and in this OutLoud audio programme from the Yorkshire Post, he talks about his early years and reads a passage from the book.
