From the Liverpool Echo
WHEN she arrived in the village Emmerdale character Emily Wylie (as she was known then) had lived a sheltered life.
But when she took a job at Viv Windsors post office, Emilys life was transformed.
Of course, Emily was brought to lovely life by actress Kate McGregor who is currently appearing in The Flint Street Nativity at the Playhouse Theatre, Liverpool.
Kate is a huge food fan but she likes the best of everything.
When it comes to her last supper, she chooses one of the tastiest menus.
For starter I would have Caprese salad, but it must be with really fresh, tasty tomatoes and basil and real mozzarella di bufala.
In fact, can she have two starters?
Considering the occasion Id have Yorkshire Pudding as well. Square tin not round because thats wrong! And lots of gravy!
For her main course Kate would go for a fish dish.
I would have baked sea bass and potatoes with olives, lemon, tomatoes, garlic and herbs all baked together.
I could mop up all the juice with fresh crusty bread. Scrummy!
And for dessert madam? A deep New York vanilla cheesecake with Mascarpone cheese and loads of it!
To go with my meal Id have a Bombay Blue Sapphire Gin and tonic, ice and lemon as an aperitif, then a full-flavoured Rioja with the meal (who cares if youre not supposed to have red wine with fish!).
I would eat my last supper on the coast of Connemara in the West of Ireland because I love the wild beauty of the place.
And with me would be all my family, of course.
There would lots of music so Id have my own version of Woodstock going on around me, but with Joni Mitchell there.
She never made it to Woodstock although she sang about it so I would make sure she opened this time.
