From The Evening Times
THE British public love psychological thrillers and the latest to hit Glasgow is one with a intriguing start that hooks you from the opening moments.
When John Haddrell dies of a heart attack at the wheel of his car, the woman at his side is not his wife, Margaret, but his lover, Julia.
Recovering from the injuries she sustained in the ensuing crash, Julia is visited by Margaret, played by Emmerdale star Lorraine Chase. Margaret apparently knows nothing of the affair. Or does she?
Events take a sinister turn when she begins to encroach on Julia's life, engineering Julia's dismissal of her handyman Gary, and her counsellor, Anne.

Left alone in the house together, Julia and Margaret are locked in deadly combat.
Meanwhile it seems Julia's handyman Gary is stealing from her, money goes missing and plants are mysteriously planted in the garden.
Then Julia thinks there is a prowler in the house. Meanwhile, Margaret is being so nice to her - and the combination of all three makes the tension rise.
Margaret manages to convince she is killing Julia with kindness, but at the same time could be plotting to wring her neck.
The frustration and helplessness of Julia, played by Clare McGlinn, is palpable. Consumed by guilt, she is never sure whether Margaret knows about the affair with her husband - and neither is the audience.
Another two Emmerdale stars, Gary Turner, and Abigail Fisher make up the quartet.
# Dead Guilty, Theatre Royal, August 13-18. £10-£21. 0870 0606647
