sorry its taken me so long to update but here is more hope you enjoy it and thanks for all the great comments

The ambulance arrive and two paramedics went inside dale view to where carl laid unconscious on the floor with chas sat beside him holding onto his arm, jimmy followed the paramedics into the room and let them do there job, he went over to where scarlet was sat in shock she hadn’t moved or said anything since matt had attacked carl.

Matt was sat in the office drinking whiskey, when lexi and miles walked in, “what are you two doing in here,” matt said biting lexis head off, “ what’s happened to carl, I was on the phone to chas a minute ago and she never said anything now there is an ambulance outside there house,” lexi asked matt worriedly, “its got nothing to do with you what’s going on over there has it,” lexi and miles decided to leave matt before he turn nasty. The walked down the street to dale view where the ambulance was parked outside.

The paramedics did what they needed to do and strapped carl onto the stretcher with his head in head splint and an oxygen mask on him, they were wheeling carl out on the stretcher with chas by his side at all times, followed by jimmy and scarlet behind them.

The paramedics where putting carl in the back of the ambulance, when lexi ran over to chas who stood there in a world of her own starring at the love of her life being put in the back of the ambulance, “chas what’s happened are you ok what’s happened to carl is he ok,” chas turned to face lexi and just burst into tears and fell into her arms, lexi hugged chas tightly as she cried into her shoulder. “miss we are ready now if you want to come in the ambulance with him,” the paramedic said stepping out of the ambulance to close the door, chas pulled away from lexi and nodded to the paramedic who helped her into the back of the ambulance to where carl laid unconscious, “jimmy you cant let her go on her own with him like that,” lexi said walking over to jimmy and scarlet, “but but what about scarlet I cant just leave her here on her own she saw it all,” “jimmy just go with chas, miles will drive me and scarlet up to the hospital we will follow on behind you,” jimmy let go of scarlet and climbed into the back of the ambulance and sat beside chas and put his arm around her. Lexi put her arm around scarlet and they stood and watched as the ambulance pulled away with its sirens and lights on.

The paramedics wheeled carl straight through into resus where doctors were there looking out him straight away. This is carl king he’s 30 years old, he’s got bad head injuries and what looks like a broke arm, he’s been on oxygen all the way, and he has been drifting in and out of conscious since the accident which is like 20 minutes now, the paramedics said to the doctors as they stood back to let them see to carl, sorry are you to family of carl, one nurse asked jimmy and chas, yes they are they came in the ambulance with him, the paramedic said, I will show them to the relatives room for you nurse, I’m not leaving him tell them jimmy I’m not leaving him, jimmy put his arms on chas shoulders are tried to pull the back to the door but she didn’t move, the paramedic took hold of chas as they both pulled her outside the doors to resus, where she stood staring through the window on the door, the relatives room is this way I will show you to it.

Miles was parking the car up in the car park, lexi and scarlet run into casualty, excuse me do you no where carl king is he got brought in by an ambulance, lexi asked the receptionist, the receptionist typed something in on the computer, are you family of his, she asked lexi, yes this is his sister and I ammm her auntie, ok just wait a moment then please, the receptionist picked the phone up and dialled a number, miles run across to where lexi and scarlet was waiting, do you no where he is is he ok, she’s just finding out for us miles, lexi said trying to smile, hello there josh, its Jackie on reception I have some of Mr kings family here wanting to see him, she paused while josh gave her some information, ok thanks josh, and she put the phone down, right Mr king is in a bad way I am sorry to say but there is some more of your family in the relatives room just down that corridor if you want to wait in there, ok thanks, lexi said to the receptionist as the three of them raced door the corridor to the relatives room.

Lexi swung the door open to a room full of silence, chas was sat staring into space in a world of her own and jimmy was sat with his head in his hands, neither of them looked up when the door opened, lexi walked in followed by miles and scarlet, lexi went and stand down next to chas, who looked up at her and tears rolled down her eyes, scarlet went and sat end to jimmy who didn’t move she put her arm around her brother and put her head on his shoulder, miles just stood inside the door not knowing what to do.

The door opened again and everyone looked up, a doctor stood in the door way, are you Carl kings family, neither chas or jimmy could get there words out so scarlet said yes, the doctor walked in and said I have some news for you

The doctor sat down on the coffee table in front of the sofa, before he said anything he looked at chas, jimmy, scarlet, lexi and miles, they all looked like they had seen a ghost they was pale with red eyes and they looked so weak.
“Well I am sorry to have to tell you this but carl has taken so bad injuries to his head and me and my team think it is best if we sedate him for a while, as he will be in a lot of pain if we let him come round now,” the doctor went silent and looked at the others.
Scarlet looked at the doctor and said, “ What does sedate mean,”
“ Sorry I should have explain it, it means we will give him this drug so that he is asleep,” the doctor said.
Chas never moved she just sat there with her head in her hands crying. Miles walked over from the door and sat down at the other side of jimmy, “are his injuries serious then,” miles asked.
“Carl has serious head and chest injuries, that my nurses are looking at now, he has also broken his arm.”
Chas lifted her head up from her hands and said “ will he be ok is he going to recover,”
The doctor put his hand on chas hand and said “ we will do are best for him.”

The doctor left the room. Miles stood up and said, “Does anyone want a coffee?” “ Ye ye scarlet go with miles will you and help him with the coffee hears some money bring three coffees and two teas back,” jimmy said putting some money in scarlets hand who followed miles out of the door.

Chas stood up and walked over to the window which over looked the fields of farm land, where they was thousands of sheep, she just stared through the window.
Jimmy stood up, “chas we can go and see him if you want,” he said. Chas just looked at him she couldn’t get her words out so she just nodded to him and walked over to where he stood, he put his arm around her shoulders and walked out of the relatives room with jimmy and down the corridor to where carl was.

Lexi was left on her own in the relatives room, she sat there crying in a world of her own thinking of all the good times her and carl had together.

Chas and jimmy got to the room where carl was, jimmy pushed the door open and stood in the door way with chas at the side of him, chas looked over to the bed where carl laid and she burst out into tears and dropped to her knees, she went all weak seeing carl like that and couldnt stand up.

heres a bit more hope you enjoy it

Chas woke up, to an empty bed again, this was the fifth week that Carl hadn’t been beside her when she woke up. The house was silent chas was alone. Chas slowly got out of bed and walked over to the window to open the curtains. She looked out of the window and saw jimmy’s car pulled up outside the house, shit she thought to herself I am not dressed or ready yet. The doorbell rang. Chas slowly walked down the stairs she didn’t want to trip and she couldn’t see the step with the size of her belly. She opened the door to see jimmy stood at the other side.

“Come in jimmy I have told you before you have a key just come in,” chas said walked through to the living room so that jimmy could come in.

“Chas I have moved out of home farm and I was just wondering if I could move him here part time just for a little bit,” jimmy asked

“I guess matt’s home from his holiday then,” chas said

“Yes he got home this morning and I cant be in the same room as him chas not after what he did to carl, if I am honest I am scared of what he will do to me,” jimmy said

Chas waddled over to jimmy and put her arms around him and hugged him, “ mind the little one,” she said as him hugged her tightly, “of course you can stay here and don’t worry about matt,”

“ You heard from the hospital yet today then,” jimmy asked

“ To be honest jimmy I have just got up that’s why I am not dressed yet,” chas said

“I think you should go and get dressed then don’t you,” jimmy said smiling at her.

Jimmy and chas got in the car and drove to the hospital.
They arrived and jimmy help chas out of the car.

“ Are you sure you can fit through them doors chas,” jimmy said jokingly to her.

“I am sure I must be having twins look at the size of him,” chas said

“no carls the dad and if the baby is anything like him mum was a beach whale with carl,” jimmy said.

Jimmy and chas walked into the hospital laughing. They said hello to a few of the nurse which they had been seeing everyday for the last 2 months with coming to the hospital to see carl. They walked through the door to where Carl was. They froze. Neither of them new what to do. The bed was empty. Carl wasn’t there.

“Nurse nurse what’s happened to carl,” jimmy cried, a nurse came running to see what all the shouting was about, “jimmy, chas what’s the problem,” the nurse asked.

“What’s the problem, my brother isn’t in his bed where is he what’s happened to him,” jimmy screamed.

“Oh you can’t of got the message,” the nurse said, jimmy and chas looked at each other puzzles.

“I think your two better come this me,” the nurse said pointing them in a direction.

Jimmy and chas were so worried they thought something really bad had happened to Carl, they followed the nurse down lots of corridors until the come to a room.

“Where are we and where’s carl,” chas said getting inpatient.

“Just in her love,” the nurse said opening the door.

The nurse walked in the room first and jimmy and chas followed in behind.

“MR KING WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT OF YOUR BED,” the nurse screamed at him causing him to jump. Carl was about to try and explain himself when he noticed jimmy and chas stood behind the nurse, he hadn’t seen them for what seem years to him but was only 2 months that he had been unconscious to them.

“CHAS JIMMY,” he cried they both burst through the door knocking the nurse flying and rushed over to him, he was sat on the edge of his bed, chas flung her arms around him and hugged him tightly jimmy sat down next to him and put his arms around both of them. The nurse stood there with a massive smile on her face she was so happy for them, she had sat with jimmy and chas most of the time when they had visited carl and she was pleased for them all.

Chas laid in bed wake looking at the ceiling think of what a great day she had had seeing carl wake and up was the best thing she could of hoped for at this moment in time. Jimmy was in the room next door to chas looking at a photo of carl he had he was so happy he was ok and couldn’t wait for him to come home in a few days times. Scarlet was at the house with Donald where her and lexi was going to be staying with miles, lexi and miles had gone to the pub to celebrate carl being ok. Carl laid in his hospital bed think about chas and their baby she was soon going to have.

A nurse walked in Carl’s room, “are you ok Carl,” she asked.
Carl looked up at her with the biggest smile on his face and said, “yes I am great thank you,”
“Why are you so happy Carl its time for your medication you normal hate this bit,” she said.
“Chas is going to give birth to are baby in less than a months time,” carl said with a massive grin on his face.

Chas couldn’t sleep she was so restless and she couldn’t get comfy. Jimmy came into her room wearing just his boxers he had heard her and was worried about her; chas looked over to the door and nearly had a heart attack.
“Jimmy what are you doing,” chas screamed
“I come to see if you was ok I was getting a bit worried about you,” jimmy said

Chas sat up in bed and put her hand on her belly, “ this little one is giving me hell and am sure they want to come out now,” chas laughed
Jimmy went and sat on the bed next to her, chas took his hand on put in on her belly to feel the baby kicking, jimmy’s eyes lit up with happiness when he feel it he had never experienced anything like this before.


The next day

After managing to finally get to sleep chas woke up in a sweat the next day, she looked over at her clock and it was 10 o’clock. She went to stand up, “ARGH JIMMY,” chas screamed, jimmy came rushing up the stairs and barged through the door.
“Chas are you ok what’s happened, oh my god,” Jimmy said looking down at the floor, “chas why didn’t you go to the toilets,” he joked
“Jimmy my waters have just broke,” chas said

Jimmy bundled chas into the chas, and drove to the hospital.
“Jimmy we need to get Carl,” chas screamed
“Chas calm down I will ring the ward once we get you there ok,” jimmy said

Jimmy pulled up at the hospital and ran inside to fetch a wheel chair for chas; he wheeled it round to chas door and helped her in to it,
“Bloody hell chas you need to lose a bit of weight,” jimmy joked
Chas punched jimmy playfully and he wheeled her into the hospital.
“Jimmy watch where your going I think you need to go on some driving lessons,” chas laughed at him.

Chas was laid on the bed in the hospital trying to breath how the midwife was telling her to breath.
“Jimmy I need Carl he cant miss this,” chas screamed
“Chas I am on to it straight away now don’t worry about it,” jimmy said rushing out of the room.

Jimmy rang the ward where Carl was and explained the situation to the nurse who said she was straight on to it, jimmy went back into the room where chas was going into labour.

“Carl king get into that wheelchair now,” the nurse shouted running into the room
“Why where we going, what’s happened,” Carl asked
“I have had a phone call from your brother saying he wants you and something special is happening and its your duty to be there,” the nurse said pushing carl out the room in the wheelchair, carl just looked forward puzzled with what his brother wanted him for.

heres more hope you enjoy let me no what you think its a little short


The nurse wheeled carl all the way through the hospital until they reached the women’s hospital where chas was in labour, carl was looking around at the wards full of women with there babies.
“Why are we down here in the women’s hospital,” Carl asked the nurse.
“I don’t know carl your brother just rang and said it was your duty to be there,” the nurse laughed at Carl (she new what was really happening).

Carl spotted jimmy waiting outside the door to a room with no windows.
“Jimmy what’s going on, chas said the scan wasn’t for a week or two,” Carl asked.
Jimmy just smiled at him and opened the door for the nurse to wheel Carl in.
Carl saw chas laid on the bed with a midwife talking to her.
“Chas are you ok,” Carl asked worriedly.
“I am fine carl,” chas answered.

The nurse left Carl and chas alone in the room with the midwife, and walked outside to where jimmy was sat on the chair. Jimmy stood up when she walked out,
“Thanks for letting him come,” jimmy said
“Its ok he should be here like you said, I will keep popping back on him to make sure he is ok and he can spend time with chas then,” the nurse said.

Carl opened the door. Jimmy looked up as soon as the door opened, he saw it was carl and jumped to his feet, carl walked over to jimmy with tears rolling down his checks, jimmy put his arms round him and hugged him tightly.
“It’s a little boy jimmy, I’ve got a little son,” Carl cried, jimmy hugged him tightly then stood back from him.
“So are you going to introduce me to my little nephew then,” jimmy said excitably.
Carl led jimmy into the room where chas was laid holding their little baby boy in her arms, jimmy walked round to the opposite side of the bed as Carl.
“He’s beautiful, must take after you then chas, cos he doesn’t get his looks from his dad,” jimmy joked.
“That’s what I told Carl but he was having none of it,” chas said handing jimmy then baby.
Jimmy was speechless was he stood there holding the baby he was so proud of his little brother and the baby was beautiful. Jimmy handed the baby back to chas and said, “So what’s he called then.”
Chas looked over at Carl “go on the carl tell him what are sons called.”
Carl picked the baby up from chas and said “Oliver James King, ye James after you jimmy thanks for looking after chas for me,”

After having an emotional time between the four of them, Carl, Chas, Jimmy and Oliver James, Carl was fast asleep in the chair, and Oliver James was fast asleep in his incubator and chas and jimmy was talking about how happy they was.
“Jimmy can you do me a favour while these two are asleep please,” chas asked
“Course I can chas what’s up, do you want me to go so you can have soon peace,” jimmy said
“No no jimmy don’t be so stupid I want you hear with me all the time if you don’t mind, I was just wondering if you could ring scarlet and tell her we have someone who wants to meet her,” chas said
“Of course I can chas, what about lexi?” jimmy asked
“Ye I suppose so,” chas laughed.
Jimmy went outside the hospital to phone scarlet up to tell her the news, chas had also fallen asleep.

Back at home farm

Lexi and scarlet had moved back into home farm, and scarlet had just had the phone call from jimmy telling her the great news, she ran into the kitchen with a massive smile a mile wide on her face.
“Why are you so happy,” matt asked
Scarlet ignored Matthew and sat down next to lexi, “lexi chas has had the baby can we go and see him please,” scarlet asked excitably.
Matt drove lexi and scarlet up to the hospital, scarlet never spoke the whole journey she still haven’t forgiven Matthew for what he had done to Carl, as soon as Matthew stopped the carl scarlet jumped out of it without saying anything to lexi or Matthew, she saw jimmy stood at the door and she ran up to him and flung her around him. Lexi lent over and kissed Matthew “well are you coming in with us,” lexi asked him.

Jimmy and scarlet walked through the door and saw and nurse injection carl…..

“Is Carl ok what are you doing to him,” scarlet screamed
“Its alright sweetie I am just giving carl his medication don’t worry your big brother he’s a proper fighter,” the nurse said
“Thank god for that,” scarlet said walking into the room and over to chas. Scarlet gave chas a hug and kiss, and stood watching while the nurse dealt with Carl.
“Where’s lexi then,” chas asked
“She’s in the car with her boyfriends,” scarlet said angrily.
“WHAT!” jimmy said walking over to where she was stood.
“Jimmy calm down,” chas said
“Calm down don’t tell me to calm down, she’s seeing him what the heck does she think she’s playing at,” jimmy screamed
“Come on jimmy I think you should come with me,” the nurse said taking jimmy by the arm and taking him outside the door.
“Jimmy I understand where you are coming from, but please calm down for you brothers sake and the babies, don’t go shouting your head off in there,” the nurse said

Carl stood up and picked Oliver James up and walked over to scarlet
“Do you want to hold your little nephew,” Carl said
“Aw yes please can I,” scarlet asked
Carl handed scarlet the baby and she sat there cradling him in her arms, “so what did you decide to call him,” she asked
“Your brother decided to call him Oliver James, after jimmy,” chas said

Jimmy walked back in and apologized for his behaviour before.
“What was that all about anyway jimmy,” Carl asked
“Oh nothing Carl I am just a bit tired and it’s getting to me a bit,” jimmy said
Scarlet handed Carl Oliver back and sat back down on the bed next to chas so Carl could sit in the chair, jimmy was sat in the chair next to Carl stroking Oliver’s foot.

Lexi and Matthew walked hand in hand down the hospital to where chas’ room was.
“You sure your ready for his lexi,” Matthew asked
“ Yes come on lets get it over and done with,” lexi said
The pushed the door open and walked in, everyone turned there head towards the door, jimmy stood up from his seat and so did carl who grabbed hold of jimmy’s arm, chas’ face dropped, and scarlet sat there shaking worried about what was going to happen ………

“Jimmy he’s not worth it,” Carl said.
“Ye Jimmy listen to the man almighty I’m not worth it,” Matt said sarcastically.
“What you guna do to me Matt kill me, it didn’t work last time did it am I still here with my little boy and chas,” Carl said
“CARL,” chas shouted
Oliver started crying with all the noise; Carl passed him to chas to hold. Scarlet was shaking scared of what was going to happen she had seen what Matt could do and she new he would do it again.
“Matt just go you’re not welcome here,” jimmy said
“Is it your baby that’s just been born jimmy…no I didn’t think so, and lexi wanted me to come anyway,” Matt said.
“Its not her baby either its Carl and Chas’ baby,” jimmy said getting angry
Matt let go of chas handed and walked over to where jimmy and chas was stood, chas was worried not only for her and the baby but for scarlet and jimmy to as well was carl, so she reached behind her and pressed the nurses button. Matt and jimmy continued arguing, carl tried getting them to stop but the wouldn’t, matt pushed jimmy so carl stepped in between them to stop them to them and matt swung for jimmy and carl stepped in and got hit in the mouth by matt, carl dropped to his knees and put his hand up to his mouth which was now pouring with blood, the nursed rushed in to see what was wrong with chas, and having just witnessed matt hit chas.
“I think you better go,” the nurse shouted angrily
“I am not going anywhere until this is sorted,” matt shouted back
“Well this isn’t the place to be fighting,” the nurse shouted back at Matthew.
Jimmy pushed by everyone and walked outside to get away from it all, Matthew followed him, and they was both followed by lexi running after them screaming at them to stop it and come back.
Scarlet was about to run out when Carl grabbed her arm.
“Where do you think your going scarlet,” Carl asked
“There going to hurt jimmy,” scarlet cried
“The nurse said she was going to go and get security for Matthew, jimmy can stand up for himself look what matt did to me its not going to stop him hurting you,” Carl said angrily
“Come on Carl I think its time we got you back n bed,” the nurse said walking in
“I am not leaving chas and Oliver while he’s on the lose,” Carl said
“Carl you need your rest otherwise I want be letting you go home tomorrow,” the nurse said
“What I can go home tomorrow,” Carl asked
“Well I thought you would want to go home with your son and chas,” the nurse said
Carl said his goodbyes to scarlet chas and Oliver and the nurse wheeled him back to his ward in the wheelchair.
When the security had reached Matthew, him and jimmy had already had a fight…….

“Come on scarlet your coming home with me,” Jimmy said walking into the room, he had bloodstains on his collar and his shirt was all ripped.
“Jimmy what happened,” Chas asked
“Nothing Matthew just got what was going to him that’s all, now come on scarlet lets let Chas and Oliver get some rest shall we,”
“Jimmy you haven’t done anything stupid have you and have you got the keys for the house,” chas asked
“Chas I promise you I haven’t done anything he didn’t deserve to get and you don’t mind if me and scarlet stay at your house do you,” jimmy asked
“Course I don’t they keys in the draw over there, and scarlet look after your brother for us please,” chas said
Scarlet and Jimmy said there goodbyes and the left to go home.

Lexi and Matthew was back at home farm, lexi was cleaning Matthews cuts up that he had on his face from where jimmy had punched him.
“I told you it was a bad idea me going in with you” Matt said
“Well if you could control your angry Matt there would have been no problem,” lexi said
“What you guna do about scarlet now then,” Matt asked
“Well I don’t think she will want to come back here, so it looks like jimmy’s going to be looking after her,” lexi said
“When does carl come home,” Matt asked
“They said this week sometime Matt, why do you want to no, your not going to hurt him again are you,” lexi asked worriedly

The Next Day

“Carl all your medication is in your bag don’t forget to take it will you, and I have made a follow up appointment for you to come back so we can do another scan on your ribs and head to make sure everything is ok,” the nurse said
“Thanks you’ve been a great nurse to me thanks for looking after me,” Carl said
“Now shut up Carl you will have me crying,” the nurse laughed and said her goodbyes to Carl and sent him on his way.

“Scarlet come on have you done that wall yet,” Jimmy shouting
“Well if you was helping me paint in stead of trying to fix the cot together which you cant do then we would get it done a lot faster,” scarlet shouted back
“Find I will help you paint, how much more you got left to do,” Jimmy asked
“Just that one wall left to do,” scarlet said
Scarlet and Jimmy finished painting the walls and finally got the cot up and they put all the presents they had bought Oliver into what was now his room, and they sat down to have a cup of tea and a rest when they phone rang
“Hello, who’s that please jimmy king speaking”
“Drop the posh voice Jimmy where are you,”
“Sat at home with scarlet have a cup of tea Carl why,”
“You were meant to be picking us up at 10 its now 11 Jimmy,”
“Oh sorry Carl was got a bit carried away we are on are way now,”
Jimmy and Scarlet jumped in the car and speed away to the hospital

“Matt where are you going,” Lexi shouted after him
“I need to go any get something I will see you around dinner time ok,” Matt shouted back
Matthew drove down to hotten and went in every shop until he found what he was looking for, he came out of the shop with a massive teddy which was nearly as big as him, and a bag full of baby clothes and a bracelet with Oliver James King engraved on it.
