earlier that day, the police had turned up at colleens address,we have a warrant to search your address Desiri said, quickly ushering his teem past her , what colleen said , what for what do you mean , what are u looking for, Desiri just give colleen the warrant and got on with the search,they seized all the computer equipment the answer machine and some Mobile phones , then they asked Collen to escort them to the police station,colleen was reluctant to go with them ,no i cant she said i have made arrangements to collect my children from their farther ,i have to go and get them they will be waiting for me, i am already late ,it wont take long Desiri said , well I'm sorry but i have got to go she said trying to push past Desiri, well then you leave me no choice, colleen king i am arresting you in connection with the black mail of Carl king anything you say maybe used against you,colleen just stood there looking stunned, when they arrived at the police station , colleen said, i need to see my children , they need me, they are expecting me, Desiri replied oh I'm sure your children are weing very well looked after. later that day colleen got questioned, Desiri ,and Jones were doing the questioning again, colleen , do you know anything about the blackmail of Carl king. no colleen replied, only what he has told me,what has he told you , just that the children were in danger,Desiri asked did u get along with your in-laws, sometimes colleen replied,is there anyone you never got along with, what about tom king ,he was alright , oh until we got divorced that is , he was only nice when he wanted something from you, like what Desiri asked , grand children for one , as soon as we got married all he wanted me to do was stay at home having kids.he wasn't like that with Sadie tho i think he had a thing for her, did you resent him for that, colleen looked up and said , well i never killed him if thats what you mean,but yes i did resent him , he had Carl wrapped round his finger,he would do anything to keep daddy happy it made me sick.is that why you got divorced Desiri asked, well along with all the women , he called just friends yes ,Desiri asked colleen do you visit a Internet cafe in esteem road in Horten, no colleen said looking worried, well emails sent to Carl kings computer were sent from computers at that address, are you sure you were not at that Internet cafe.no comment colleen said ,can you take a look at this inspector Jones said ,handing her apiece of paper. this is a picture from a CCTV camera on esteem road it shows you coming out of the cafe ,then he said can you have a look at this this is an exact copy of a email sent to Carl king .colleen just shrugged her shoulders , if you notice the date and time Colleen , the CCTV is 5 minutes after you left the cafe.no comment colleen replied colleen if you have anythink to tell us it will be better if you tell us now, we have your mobile phone and your computers, also your answer machine , it would be a benefit to you if you tell us anythink now , we know you are not doing this on your own , has anyone approached you . no comment colleen replied

the detectives decided to wait a couple of hours to see if there was anymore evidence on the equipment that they had found.colleen was kept there while they waited on more information,meanwhile at home farm , Thomas and Anya were still asking questions about their mother. thought my mum was coming Anya said , youl see her soon enough Carl replied,i tell you what Carl said ,thinking his kids were safe now, shall we eat out today for a change, the kids got all exited ,and Matt said no are you mad ,you don't know what can happen, look Carl said if colleen has got any think to do with it then i don't think the kids are in danger do you, jimmy said well Carl you don't know who else is involved do you.well you know what Carl said i we've been stuck in here for a week , I'm fed up and the kids are fed up, were`going out for lunch do u want to come. they all decided to go they figured it would be safer if they all went.Carl took Chas and the kids in his car , and jimmy and Matt followed , with the security close behind. they decided to go on a picnic they had most , of the stuff in but needed some soft drinks .so they decided to stop at Viv hopes shop on the way. right kids what drinks do you want Carl said ,iwant Dr pepper Thomas said , Anya just agreed with Thomas that that was the best choice ,as Carl opened the door of the car Anya shouted hey Thomas theres that Rose woman ,who comes to our house . Carl looked up as rosemary was walking past the car oblivious to what was going on .who Carl said making sure he had heard right. uh yes Thomas replied thats mums friend .by this time jimmy and Matt came to the car , come on whats taking you so long Matt said ,no think hang on a minute. at which point rosemary had just walked into Viv's shop. Carl shut the door quick so the kids couldn't here him,i think Thomas and Anya have just recognized rosemary , Carl said stunned.what how jimmy said where is she , she walked in the shop and the kids recognized her ,i mean they called her Rosie but it was definitely her they were on about , they said she was colleens friend,Chas jumped out the car , ill kill her she said, no look Matt said she cant see the kids in your car,Carl had blacked out windows in the back of his car, so get back in the car wait till she comes out and make sure its her, Carl got back in the car, and waited for rosemary to come out the shop,my god Chas said how long does it take to buy a broom stick ,it seemed like a life time but in reality it was only a couple of minutes. but the kids were still getting restless,and it was making it seem even longer.when rosemary eventually came out , Carl said is that her ,is that the women who,s friends with your mum , yes they both said thats Rosie , can she come on the picnic with us Anya said , no Carl said you must not talk to her she is a very busy woman.Carl got out the car just in time to hear a smug Matt say hello rosemary and how have you been this fine day.my day has been very good and its just got awhole lot better for seeing you.Carl didn't want to disturb the kids knowing that they could see every think he chose to stay quiet , he didn't know quite how much trust she had gained of his kids , and didn,t want to risk any think.Rosemary just walked by without a care in the world she hadn't known colleen had been arrested,she thought she still had the upper hand,Chas stay in the car with the kids while we go to the shop Carl said to chases annoyance, she wanted to know what the plan was next.when they got in the shop they stood for a bit discussing what to do next.look Carl said lets have a picnic with the kids find out exactly what they know and when we come home we will call the police, don't you think the police are going to want to know why we haven't told them right away jimmy said , i don't care i promised the kids a pic nic and they are getting one , OK Matt said but i will phone Vaughn up and let him know they recognized her .they bought the soft drinks and left to Viv's annoyance she couldn't understand why it took three grown men to get two bottles of Dr pepper.they all headed off to their pic nic . when they were leaving the village they passed Rosemary,Matt popped his head out the window and shouted smugly ,have a nice day rosemary.

when they arrived at the park where they were having there picnic ,Matt told Carl that the police said not to ask any more questions , he made arrangements to come to home farm the next day and interview them there, so they decided to make a day of it to keep the kids minds of the fact that there mother had not turned up for them so after th picnic they all decuded to go to th e zoo . when they eventually did get home everybody was tired and they all went straight to bed , back at the police station the police applied for an extension to the arrest warrant on colleen and were given an extra 24 hours-to question her.the next morning every body was up early , Thomas and Anya was in the garden playing when the police arrived, can you give us 15 minutes and then you can bring in one of the kids Desiri said we need to set up recording equipment. Carl started to get worried about Anya she was still very young and she was very shy , he voiced his concerns to Desiri but Desiri said these are specialized officers they know what they are doing , but i suggest you send your son in first then we may well only have to ask her a few questions. Carl went to the garden to get Thomas. Thomas Carl shouted .come here someone has come to see you . hearing that Anya came running over is it mummy , no sweetheart Carl said but i will try to talk to her later Carl said hugging his daughter. Carl took Thomas to the room , telling him not to worry , by now Thomas new what to expect even though he didn't totally understand why. when they got to the room Thomas started playing , and just like the last time the officers started to ask pointless questions like , what football team do you like , Thomas replied he didn't like football but he did like rugby, they were having a bit of banter about the two sports , then they asked did you like the trip to the zoo , yes Thomas said we went for a picnic first tho , the officer asked oh that sounds nice what did you have Thomas replied butties and pop and stuff . the officer then asked remember when you first went out you went to buy pop yes Thomas replied, who did you see anyone you knew. yes it was Rosie mums friend, how long have you known her for i don't know Thomas replied , she just comes to our house .do you like her Thomas , some times Thomas replied why some times , well when sh first came she was nice she played with us. but sometimes when she comes mum sends us to bed and its only early . why do you think that is Thomas the police asked , Thomas shrugged his shoulders, but i know she doesn't like my dad or uncle jimmy and Matt, why the officer asked , because i listen on the stairs and i sometimes hear what they are saying.oh dear do you think you should be doing that . no but i don't care she said nasty things about dad what was that ,Thomas froze nothing Carl looked at Thomas knowing his son needed reassurance and said , it alright son ,to witch Thomas responded , Rosie just kept telling my mum that dad killed granddad, and she seen it. everyone in the room looked at Carl this time Carl kept his cool he didn't want to loose it nowcarl thought this proves rosemary was there .is that all you heard Thomas , no Thomas said she was saying i don't know Thomas said she said lots of things but it is all lies my dad wouldn't do nothing like that. Carl gave Thomas a reassuring smile and Thomas stated to feel more comfortable again. i know he dosent give mum much money tho because she always says things like , i shouldn't be struggling when he isn't greedy b word. Thomas found it amusing that he nearly swore, do you remember any think else Thomas the officer asked , Thomas looked up realizing that this was more of a task than play ,dad can i go now i want to go outside in the garden,Carl looked up at the officer and they nodded at him yes son go on Thomas run out into the garden.when Thomas went out side Carl asked did they really need to speak to Anya , yes we need as much evidence as possible then replied , an angry Carl went outside to fetch hi daughter. Jesus he thought ,how the hell do they think they are going to get her to talk to them , shes only just started to talk to me and I'm her dad, Carl had always had a distant relationship with Anya , he always found it hard to form a proper relationship with her , she was still a very little baby when they split up and colleen always made it hard for him to see them , in fact this week has been the longest they have ever spent together and Carl was more than happy with the progress he had made with Anya over this past week . she had really opened up to him and he now had a strong bond with both his kids. Anya Carl shouted will you come with me for a few minutes .Anya went with Carl as they were walking Carl said there is some people who want to talk to you there is no need to worry i will be with you Anya could sense Carl wasn't happy witch made her even more nervous , but he just knew she would not like it and they would scare her. when they got to the room . the officers started asking Anya questions similar to the ones asked to Thomas but Anya just clung on to her dad as if her life depended on it.eventually Carl picked her up and tried to reassure her but when she held and he could feel her heart beating on his chest , he just snapped is this necessary , you can see she is not happy the room is full of strangers i am taking her back to the garden to play i think Thomas told you enough.Carl walked out of the room still annoyed . he took Anya outside and returned back to the room , I'm sorry Carl said but i could feel her heart beating on my chest . she was terrified.i don't know why you had to do that in the first place.look Carl Desiri said we need all the evidence we can get we don't want this going wrong now I'm sorry we upset your daughter but we had to try.OK Carl said , but they have been asking about their mother , when will they be able to see her. Desiri said , look i need to understand something , what Carl said we are probably going to charge your ex wife with blackmail , she may get bail i don't know but there will be no way she will be able to have the kids back , she has threatened their lives and although it may not have been mean,t we cannot take that chance, so until your wife is cleared you may have the kids. and if sh gets found guilty you should apply for full custody. Carl stood there glued to the spot he didn't realize that this might happen he thought maybe colleen only had a small involvement , what I'm i going to tell Thomas and Anya , and will Chas still stay with me .

next morning Desiri decided to interview colleen some more ththeey needed to find out why rosemary had been to her home , and they had had some results back from the equipment they took from Collen's house,Desiri, asked do you know rosemary King yes colleen answered ,she married Carl's dad, how did you meet her Desiri asked . colleen thought for a minute about her reply, i dont know she replied not so convincingly, i must have met her when i have dropped the children off at home farm. so would you say your children know rosemary then , well i would think so, they have been there often enough, are you sure you see , the King family don't seem to remember the children ever meeting rosemary , colleen replied well if thieve never met then they must not know her. colleen Desiri asked has rosemary ever been to your home.no never colleen answered sharpish. well colleen , you need to understand your children have both said she has been to your house on a number of occasions, they must be mistaken colleen replied anxiously .colleen do you know any think about the blackmail of your ex husband. no colleen replied sternly. Desiri put a parcel on the table in it was a answer machine, do you recognize this, yes it is my answer machine,then Desiri placed another package on the table do you recognize this yes colleen said it is Thomasa's mobile phone i bought him it a few weeks ago because he was complaining his friends had them.Desiri new this was a lie as in the first interview Thomas had said he wasn't allowed a mobile phone.colleen can you tell me why your sons voice is recorded on both the mobile and the answer machine with the same message, no colleen answered it must have been Thomas he liked to mess on the phone with Carl he was always doing it.Desiri played both recordings to colleen, and asked her if she thought they were the same recording , to witch colleen agreed,then Desiri asked have you ever used this phone Collen , i dont know she replied i may have done once or twice. because Collen this mobile was used to send pictures to your ex husbands phone it has been traced back.colleen looked shocked she didn't know what her next move would be , Desiri sensed she was getting nervous and started pressing her more,colleen are you covering for some one it would be in your best interest to co-oparte. to witch colleens solicitor asked could he have a few moments with his client.

meanwhile at home farm Carl was preparing himself to tell the kids that colleen may not be able to have them back at least for the time being any way. he decided to ask Mathew and Jimmy's opinion first , he was genuinely worried but Mathew and jimmy couldn't help mocking him they new Carl loved life in the fast lane and he wouldn't be able to do that now, hey Carlos Mathew said dont ask me to baby sit , ill be to busy going through your little black book because you wont need it any more,very funny Matt i dint have one, and I'm trying to be serious here. jimmy said well i think you best go and get one because when Chas finds this out shell be out the door she cant even look after her own kid she wont want yours, shut it Jim , i dont know what to tell them they miss her, Mathew suddenly became More serious and said perhaps they deserve to know the truth, no Carl said i couldn't do that to them , i agree jimmy said, just then Chas walked in and said i agree as well ,Chas Carl said shocked how long have you been there ,oh you mean listening how crap a mother i am , or about little black books. Carl gave his brothers a angry glare , to witch jimmy said , look Chas it was just a joke .yeah well maybe he should have my opinion first instead of telling you dead heads. you know since I'm supposed to be marrying him . Chas stormed off and Carl went to go after her , jimmy stopped him sensing if he went there would be an argument, leave her Carl shell calm down soon, well she wouldn't have to if you two idiots had have kept your gobs shut.

back at the station , colleen returned for her interview she decided to co-operate with the police and admit her part in the whole thing. Desiri asked how do you know rosemary , colleen answered i already knew her i had seen her before , i dont know why the children never recognized her , it may be because they were playing or something but i have seen her at home farm. is rosemary King blackmailing Carl King yes , she emailed me about 2 weeks after toms death, she got my email address of Carl's laptop, and she said she had a proposition for me. at first i ignored it and i even deleted it , but then Carl phoned up . and said he couldn't see the kids, he never give a reason , i know his dad had just died maybe i should have been a bit more understanding , but every time we speak on the phone a huge argument breaks out. and i was still annoyed, i would not be suppressed if she heard us on the phone because the next email came just after yhe argument, it was only about five minutes later. so out of anger i emailed her back. we arranged for her to come to my house , when she got there she said she had evidence that Carl had murdered tom , and we could both earn a lot of money from it, at first i said no Carl would never hurt his dad , but she said she saw him do it.

Back at home farm Carl decided to leave telling Thomas and Anya until the next day it had started getting late and he did not want them going to bed with a head full of thoughts.
And he wanted to talk to Chas as she hadn't spoken to him sense she heard Mathew and Jimmy bating him about the kids ,Carl wanted to know where he stood with her as he could not choose her over his kids .His kids needed him he had no choice he needed her to know that.
After Carl put the kids to bed he went to find Chas ' you seen Chas any where Jim, Carl asked , yes jimmy said she just went out , she said she's fed up sitting in all night babysitting, to witch Matt started laughing, what the hells funny Carl said if it wasn't for you two idiots , she'd still be here, don't you think Ive got enough on my plate without arguing with Chas as well.Shell get over it just leave her for a while , Matt said no i wont Carl screamed she.s had all day and she's still upset I'm going to sort it out.
Carl stormed out leaving Mathew and Jimmy in pleats of laughter suppose your babysitting Jimbo Matt said because I'm off out suppose i am then Jimmy replied . although they cared about Carl they thought there was no way Chas would ever give Carl up weather he had the kids or not.
Carl went to Zak and Lisa's first to find Chas but after a hostile reception , he realized she wasn't there , Zak still hadn't forgot about the the way Carl had insulted Chas in the past and he started throwing warnings at him but Carl just ignored them and left. After leaving the Dingles Carl made his way to the Wool pack I hope she's here he thought I don't fancy looking all over Hotten for her,
When Carl walked into the wool pack he was glad to see Chas sitting at the bar talking to Eli and Katie ,thank god I've found you I thought I'd be looking all night Carl said , but Chas looked at him still annoyed , look Carl just give me a little bit of space I need a break from all this , yes do one Eli replied , shut it you Carl said I'm talking to Chas, well she doesn't want to talk to you so get lost. Leave it Eli Chas said sensing Carl's mood changing . Please Chas we really do need to talk I'm sorry about Matt and Jimmy earlier they don't know when to give up, please can we talk things over.Why would you want to can you really see me helping you bring your kids up , you know how rubbish i am Chas said , in full hearing distance of all the bar . please Chas can we talk in private . No Carl I'm here with my friends on a night out and i want to enjoy it . Fine Carl stormed have it your way , see you at home ,as Carl walked past Eli , Eli remarked , thats if she wants to mate, Carl stopped reeling from his argument with Chas, he looked Eli in the eye , and sent a right hook straight at him , Eli was knocked clean out on the floor, Carl ,Chas screamed what was that for , look Carl said I'm going I'll see you at home if you come home. Carl didn't even look at Eli lying on the floor he just walked straight out and headed home.
When Carl got home he was still reelling at Chas but mainly at himself for letting Eli get to him like that , he was sure Chas would not want him now , so when Jimmy shouted at him for leaving him with the kids. You call your self responsable you never even asked , i knew they'd be alright Carl replied , and any way it was you two jokers that caused all this dont you understand whats going on here jim i should have left things the way they were , if i had kept to my story the kids would still have there mum , not a waster like me , Jimmy sensed Carl's anguish and tried to calm him down . Look your not a waster you've just been through a bad time lately and your brilliant with the kids , yeah Carl replied but I'm not their mum am I. Just then Chas stormed in ,what the hell was you playing at you could have caused brain damage your a thug she screamed at Carl , whats going on Jimmy asked , him Chas soulted hes just knocked Eli clean out .Oh my god Jimmy replied is he OK , yes no thanks to him .Jimmy said Carl you have got to stop this brawling in the street you've got to think of the kids now. Oh yeah Carl said you were saying how good a dad i was a minute ago soon changed your mind didn't you. and you Carl said to Chas you know how much I hate that weasel yet you argue with me in front of him so he has all the ammunition to throw back at me , what do you expect he said to Chas , Chas replied you didn't have to flatten him. well Chas Carl said I have got to kids to look after I was coming to ask you what you wanted to do because I wont give my kids up only I would have rather do it a different way than this so let me know Chas because quite frankly I'm fed up worrying about it . Carl turned to wards the door and said I'm going to bed good night.

You Fancy a coffee Jimmy asked Chas, as Carl had gone to bed he thought he would take his chance to clear the air, yeah go on then I'm not going to bed yet not while he's in that mood any way.It will be world war three if i do I'll wait till he goes to sleep first, look Chas it wasn't Carl's fault you know it was me and Matt we were just teasing him we never meant to upset ye, oh yeah Chas said well why bring my son into it hey You should be thanking me, standing by him like that after every think thats happened, but no you just have a go all the time don't ye, well sometimes it gets to much and it starts hurting Jimmy , and you know what he thinks he's the only one hurting , him and the kids but I never asked for all this Jimmy , and sometimes you all forget it was my life that got threatened as well.I know that Chas were just all bit stressed at the moment thats all we all need to try and chill out a bit more , to be honest Chas thats all we were doing with Carl just a bit of brotherly banter to try to keep his spirits up we never meant you to hear it . and it wasn't meant know but Idid hear .Well what happened then , jimmy said with Eli ,Well to be honest Eli deserved it he could tell Carl was getting in a mood and he carried on dont tell Carl Isaid that though he can't just smack every one who rubs him up the wrong way . He's just a bit worried about how he'll cope thats all, and he doesn't want to lose you thats why he was like that tonight.Yeah well Chas said, any more nights like tonight and he just might.Chas and Jimmy had been talking for around one hour when Matt came in smirking , well where is he then Matt asked wheres Rocky , you heard then Chas said sarcastically , yeah what happened you have your tongue down his throat again.Matt jimmy said pack it in . well thats what happened last time wasn't it , shut up Matt Chas is upset, jimmy said.So where is Carl , in bed jimmy said look Matt you need to apologize to Chas we was out of order today , Oh come on Chas you know were always messing around with Carl like that Ive seen you do it yourself, But OK it was a joke and I'm sorry you wasn't meant to hear it. I'll take it thats an apology Chas said , well thats the best you'll get of me Matt replied. Well I'm going to bed lets just hope he's asleep because I seriously don't need more arguments tonight. Chas said good night and headed of to bed. She creped in the room without a sound and slipped into bed so she would not wake Carl up. she was lying there around one minute when she felt Carl's arm wrapping round her , I'm sorry Chas I've been an idiot. Ive a lot on my mind , its OK Carl ,Chas replied go to sleep we can talk in the morning.
