something smells nice Chas said as she walked into the kitchen, Yeah bacon on toast you want some Carl replied, oh no to early for bacon tea and toast will do for me Chas said .
Sitting down,placing the toast rack in front of Chas, Carl couldn't help but notice Chas's mood had improved, Thanks for last night he said as he sat opposite her, hoping he was right about her mood,Its OK Chas replied lifting her head and briefly glancing at him, I mean it I don't know what I would have done without you thanks, oh stop it Carl , Chas replied, what Carl asked, using emotional blackmail , I stayed because of Anya , Chas said , looking a little angry, and I will stay tonight for the same reason , so you don't need to creep around me am staying OK, OK , Carl replied , I just thought you seemed a little less stressed when you walked in , I thought we were fine am sorry, Carl continued,for a few moments the kitchen fell silent, Dad Can I have some toast Thomas said as he walked in the kitchen, yeah sure , Carl replied placing another two slices of toast in the toaster , you want cereal while you wait Carl asked, no just orange juice Thomas replied sitting down in the seat Carl had just vacated, Whats wrong Thomas said looking at Chas , and noticing a atmosphere , Erm nothing love just never had to good a sleep Chas replied , hoping her explanation would be believed, Oh Thomas replied that must be Anya's fault I bet she kicked you all night didn't she , she used to do that to me when we slept together, she used to get in my bed and fall asleep then she used to kick me ,Thomas laughed,to witch Carl and Chas , responded as if they was agreeing with him.

Here you go , Carl said placing Thomas's toast in front of him, now you go an watch some t.v. while I talk to Chas, OK Thomas replied walking out the door clearly knowing something else was wrong.Looking at Thomas walking out the door knowing how much Thomas and Anya needed them , Carl shrugged his shoulders a Chas, what am I supposed to do here he said, how do you mean Chas replied, they need me here Carl replied, I need to be with them , and I need to talk to you, I can't do that in front of the kids Carl continued. Oh your making excuses wondered how long it would take for that to happen Chas replied, Its not like that Chas and you know it Carl said, I mean i want to know stuff of you too about Charlotte ,I just cant do it in front of the kids you should know that.

Daddy Anya shouted excitingly as she run into the room, your up Early Carl said sitting her on his knee,anno daddy you said I could go and see nanny Edna today and I cant wait, did I Carl replied not recalling making such arrangements yes daddy you did, we are taking tootsie for a walk . you sure your not pulling my leg Carl asked smiling at Anya, I think you need to stay in today Carl said to Chas's annoyance, witch Carl noticed, OK I will phone and Make sure Carl replied , Rolling his eyes at them both,you get madam here some cereal,while I make that call Carl said walking out the room to get the phone.

Whilst Edna agreed with Carl about the arrangements she was only to happy to have her, She's probably missing her mother Edna said , she just wants to get out the house for a while.She likes winding me around her little finger thats what it is Carl laughed, he thanked Edna and put down the phone.
OK face ache go and get your stuff together, Carl shouted as he walked in the kitchen ,she's already doing it Chas said, half smiling, Did yeah make plans then Chas asked,No not at all except that she will see her after the funeral, but Edna was fine,Carl laughed and Anya seems happy enough today so there is no arm I suppose Carl said.

Any breakfast going Matt asked , followed by Jimmy, thought you were in the office all day Carl replied what are you doing home, we smelt the toaster Matt replied,your out of luck this morning am afraid Chas replied for once Carl never done too much,Oh well come on Jim we'll get some on the way, were you off, Carl asked, we Just came back for our golf clubs fancy around Jimmy replied , sorry to much to sort out here, Yeah thought that would be the case Jimmy replied as they turned to leave, Erm I know someone who might though Carl called, what , who, Jimmy asked puzzled, Thomas , Carl replied he could do with a break and I need him out the way for a few hours, Are you joking , Matt replied, come on Carl, Jimmy said you cant expect us to take him , Why not Carl asked,he's been the driving range afew time's he is quite OK,Carl , Matt replied I am not taking a little kid golfing with me we will be there all day, Come on do me a favor, Carl continued, Sorry not happening am afraid,Matt replied as he walked out the door, get scarlet or someone to baby sit because am not, whats up Carl replied following his older brother, afraid he will end up better than you like I did, Now that was funny Jimmy replied , what Matt asked , the first time he beet you at golf, your face when you got home, Am not taking that little jumped up cheeky little jerk anywhere again, hahahahhaha Jimmy continued, Dad was ready to give him a who lopping thought he got up to something until we found out the truth,Yeah Carl replied and he has never beet me since. I only acted like that because he went on and on about it all the way home, I remember I nearly threw him out the car a few times. Still like that now the Matt, Carl said a sore loser, that why you wont take Thomas, Carl said teasing, he's hardly likely to give me a thumping is he at his age, oh I don't know Carl replied, I wasn't much older, Matt rolled his eyes at Carl , if I agree will you shut up about it,Yeah great Carl replied, I must be mad Matt said , Come on Jim you best get a tent I can see this being a long day Matt continued.

Thomas, Carl shouted how would you like to go and have a game of Golf with Matt and Jimmy, Really Thomas replied excitedly are you coming, no I cant son I need to sort a few things out here oh Thomas replied disappointed, hey come on now its Matt and Jimmy you'll be fine with them , Can I stay with you dad Thomas asked with a tear forming in his eye, you don't have to do nothing you don't want to son, Carl said as he grabbed Thomas and held him close, but I do want to go, I want you to come, Thomas, Carl replied you can phone me any time Matt and Jimmy will let you, Ive got a bit of business to sort out with Chas thats all,now wipe that tear away and go and get them golf clubs I bought yeah, its about time you got to use them, and your so lucky to , Golf this time of year isn't normally done so if you want to go hurry up , Thomas ran to get his stuff, and left Home farm leaving Carl And Chas alone.

Sitting on the Edge of his bed leaning forward bitting his nails , it wasn't that he didn't want Chas to know the truth,how could he tell Chas how weak he was,how could he explain , that the man who she wanted to marry was such a pushover scared of every one he met, would she understand his reasons , would he still get the respect from her that he has now, his heart was thumping faster than ever has before not knowing how the day would unfold and hoping that at the end of the day he would still have Chas by his side moving his hands only to cover his head as thought started making his head throb just as much as his heart.

Well, Chas said as she entered the room, looking up with his hands clasped at the back of his head Carl said, you better sit down then, go on then explain Chas said, Ive been waiting long enough, yeah well Ive been waiting a while too , its not easy Chas , Carl said , I know its not Chas said noticing Carl's anguish , we were young, Well I know that Chas said , Colleen was 14 and i was 15, when we first slept together, Erm hang on Chas replied, you said Carrie was your first, Yeah I know am sorry, so you lied, it seemed easier that way, if I had told you there was someone else You would have wanted details, Chas it was hard enough at the time telling you about Carrie, Shaking her head, Chas just said go on, well am certain it must have happened right away i was just a kid Chas didn't even know I was doing it right, And god she can't have liked it, Chas laughed,to witch Carl did too. We just carried on fooling around to me it was fun you know I was walking around thinking yeah am a man,Jesus Christ Chas I had only just entered puberty, Colleen just wanted to keep me happy I think, I honestly don't know why she came back all the time, I must have been the worse lover ever, not much change there then Chas remarked with a giggle, mmmmmmmmm Carl replied, looking up at her, any way after a few months , We did notice her putting weight on but by that time Colleen had gone on the pill and she kept saying thats why she was putting the weight on, so we just kept going,never really thought of her being pregnant, and her parent were always away, they didn't care about her, they just run around were ever they wanted to god knows where, and my family situation wasn't much better either, my mum was dying and getting cared for Jimmy was in the business with dad Matt was golden boy couldn't do a thing wrong, then me , ha if I breathed in the wrong direction I was a failure, And max was just a kid really he didn't know any better was all dad said about him. didn't seem to think that when I was at that age like but I wasn't the youngest oldest smartest, I couldn't talk to my dad He would have leathered me. So even when I did start to worry I but it to the back of my mind and hoped it would go away, I would always think when mum gets better, I would talk to her, even though I knew she wasn't getting better, suppose I was just wishing but for some reason I always thought she would be there for me.
One day we were all having tea at the table, and the phone went, at first I never knew who it was but knew it was about me, it mostly was when dads face looked like that. anyway the others just looked at me and said what the hell have you done now.Quickly realizing I had done nothing , I knew it had to be about Colleen, me and Colleen had only discussed it the night before, it seemed strange that was the first time we both said that she could be pregnant, then the next day this happened, I ran Chas out of that house, I knew he would kill me I swear he would have, I hid outside by the window don't know why he never saw me but Jimmy did, and he stood in front of the window so dad couldn't see me, sometimes Jimmy was good like that he knew I took alot from dad and he would do his best to keep me out of trouble, I just wanted to know what was being said and whether I was right, boy was I right, he ranted and raved , Matt was standing laughing, how the hell has that little jerk got anyone pregnant . At first it was only a suspicion but now I knew it was true I sat there for 1 hour listening to how he would kill me when he got his hands on me, and he would have, this will kill your mother off he would say, ha that was his favorite to me Chas , you will kill her off lad is all he ever said, thinking back I think it was probably him who killed her off she probably had it as bad as me along the years, some times I actually wish it was me who killed him Chas, do you believe that,I do wish that, Carl looked up as Chas grabbed his hand and said its OK, Carl squeezed her hand back and continued,After that first hour I heard the phone going again and then dad ranting again and going out, he sped off down that drive at horrendous speeds am sure I wet myself that night Chas, Gently squeezing Carl's hand again Chas give Carl a reassuring smile, its OK she said as she pulled him close, Carl picked up a glass of water that he bought up with him knowing he would need it, and sat back on the edge of his bed to continue,I sat stuck to the spot when I heard Matt and Jimmy arguing, Jimmy clearly annoyed at hoe Matt had found it so funny, I felt proud to have him on my side, he wasn't always on my side but He knew golden boy was looked at as better than him so Jimmy probably felt a touch of what I was feeling at times,Am not saying I was any Cinderella type kid , I was pure and simply was the family mistake.
Anyway still sitting glued to the spot Matt and Jimmy came out I was amazed when I saw our Matt standing there , Its OK our kid, Jimmy said, he will help no Jim get him away, I went to leave but they stopped me , Carl calm down Jimmy kept saying, he's OK Its alright. Matt still found it funny but he did help me we got in Jimmy's car and went to Matt's Friends where I stayed for a few nights until his parents got home.And on that day Jimmy came to pick me up he said Colleens parents wanted an abortion , I was livid no I screamed am going there she can't s, She can and dads paying, What I thought I wanna see her , I begged and begged but he wouldn't, he said I would get murdered, You will have to come home and accept it once she has the abortion dad will calm down and you will be fine,although we both knew that wouldn't be true , jimmy thought it would be better than turning up at Collen's house, You cant take me home I shouted at him I wont let you , I jumped out the car and left Jimmy , I was on my own but I never cared anything was better than going home. it was two in the morning when I decided I wanted to see Colleen, I didn't want her to have an abortion I was crippled with guilt over it already I knew I had to do something, So when I arrived at her house I waited outside cursing her parents, normally they wouldn't give a dam now they are probably trying to milk dad to get what they can out if him, and stuff the consequences,me Colleen there very own daughter , I started throwing stones at her window until she heard, when she finally did she knew she had to come out, because she didn't want me to get caught, so there we were stuck in the middle of nowhere me not been home for three days and Collen stuck in her night gown I had no choice but to phone home and hope dad wouldn't hear, I was lucky in a way because dad had been spending his nights with mum in a granny flat and that had a different number to the house.after a huge row with Matt and Jimmy on the phone they agreed to help us. Jimmy knew a local property developer man who owed him a favor , this man had flats to hire he got us a flat, that business man was ,Sadie's dad thats how her and Colleen became good Friends.and its also when Sadie and Jimmy met Although something went on with Matt first, Hence the reason me and her never got on , She messed both of them around .Carl had started feeling a bit more relaxed about things, Chas had made it easier by holding him when he needed it, she hadn't questioned him and he was grateful for that, but he needed a break so he said he wanted to go the toilet as an excuse,Carl went and rinsed his face he didn't think he would ever have to tell anyone but he knew he had to and the realism was getting rather stressful even though Chas was making it easy he still found it hard and hurtful talking about it.Carl walked back into the bedroom , you OK Chas asked as he sat back down on the bed, Yeah Carl replied as he let out a big sigh,come on lets get it over with then he said, OK but are you sure your alright , no Chas I need to get it off my chest Its been lying here for years Carl said punching himself in they chest, and not to mention here pointing to his head, I really do feel better,its hard Chas but its better honest,OK Chas replied as she sat back down next to Carl.

Sitting back on the bed and after a small pause, Carl continued, ahhhhhhh were was I, he said, oh yeah the flat, he made a small chuckle sound,its funny when you look back , he said, we were gunna take on the world me and Colleen, we had all these plans,I mean I knew I never loved her, but I would have told her anything Chas, to stop that abortion, so I lied and told her time and time again how much I loved her and we would bring our own baby up, she agreed and we hid in that flat for 3 weeks , Jimmy and Matt got us food and Sadie got hold of some clothes for colleen , she helped because her dad asked her to, I don't know what Jimmy had over him but I got the feeling it was big, because he was doing everything he could for me and Colleen, it was really strange, because even when the police where looking for us he never done nothing to get rid of use and you could see he was nervous. Then one day there was a knock on the door, we were expecting Jimmy so I just opened the door without checking, And me dad was standing there, He walked in to our scatty little flat with no furniture, and laughed at us, Called me all the idiots under the son , and said I didn't deserve to have kids I was just a waster and I always would be, Then he turned to Colleen, is this what you want , to end up with him, hes an idiot he can't look after you look at him, I can I said we are having this baby and were getting married I informed him , Ha dad replied your doing nothing except coming home with me, and this girl is going home to her parents, do you understand me, no I said defiantly, oh sit down lad he said your just a pair of school kids, and he pushed me , wasn't even hard Chas, but I fell back on the chair, and stumbled, then he bent down and grabbed me and pushed me up against the wall , I was only a little skinny thing am sure my feet weren't touching the floor , and he just said something in the lines of get this girl home now or I will call the police myself, I was terrified and he let me go, I cowered to the floor and dad just stood there and hit me across the head, now get in that car he said as he threw me to the door, Thinking about it I should have ran then but I was terrified, I just went to the car, Guess who was there waiting for me Carl said to Chas, Matthew, Chas replied, in one Carl answered, He just laughed at me he could see i was scared and he just sat laughing, I later found out he told dad to get back at Jimmy because Jimmy took Sadie out, Can you believe that Chas he was prepared to let my baby die because Jimmy went out with Sadie, still angers me now that does Chas Carl said tears started falling on Chas's arm , and Carl quickly whipped his eye's, its OK Chas said still holding his hand, any way She went home I went home , dad just kept going on about how much stress I was putting on mum, and I was going to finish her off, I was grounded of course I knew he wouldn't let me out, until the abortion, so I just stayed in my room out of the way of every one they had all let me down, Even Jimmy , If he hadn't have got with Sadie this would never have happened, I looked out my window at everyone going to see mum but I never wanted to go , I really believed she was sick because of me and if I never went near she would stay alive longer, Thinking back Chas, I don't even think she knew, am sure she would have tried to help me, I wish I would have gone to see her I so needed her, Carl laughed, I was fifteen and here I was crying for my mum , Carl laughed sad hey, no its not Chas replied.

Carl took some more water he was starting to get upset, Thats all I do to you isn't it Carl remarked , all I do is cry , I bet your sorry now arnt yeah, he continued,sorry you wanted to know, no am not Chas replied,am here for yeah , you know that, Not what you thought though is it Carl said , What Chas replied, the other day, when you found out, Carl's emotions was starting to take over , he couldn't help but take his frustrations out on Chas, there was no one else there, she was his only target and he couldn't help himself. I don't know what I thought Chas replied, I was right though weren't I , about what Chas asked, you thought I agreed to everything thought it was my idea , Carl I never knew what to think, mmmmmmmmm Carl said starting to get angry, you thought my dad , helped me out of a situation, Carl went up to Chas's face, noses nearly touching, It never once occurred to you I never wanted helping out , it never once occurred in your head that I might have wanted the baby,You just assumed I was as bad as you, Carl this is not about Aaron, Chas replied ,would have been nice for you though wouldn't it if I had walked away,I could be just as bad as you then equal, stop it Carl , Chas said your attacking me for no reason . you sat there who did you tell Zak,Lisa,called be for everything, I bet , no Chas replied,well let me tell you something Chastity he continued, I would never walk out on my kids ever, Chas snapped she couldn't help herself , he was upset but he had gone to far,Oh is that right Chas replied ,well let me tell you something , You are exactly the same as me,You walked out on your kids to or have you forgot, and you wouldn't have them now if it wasn't for the situation you were in so don't grag me down Carl, like I told you the other day I never asked for all this I just got it all dumped on me.

Chas's outburst brought Carl down to earth , he just sat on the bed again with his hands behind his head, Am sorry My heads all over the place I don't know how am supposed to think all this , it hasn't been mentioned for years , and its there again now, Carl looked at Chas and smiled am sorry, its OK she said leave it now if you want its OK for a bit, narrrrrrrrr Carl said lets get it over with, it will only be wrecking my head ,

well you ready then , Carl said putting his arm round Chas, yeah go on then Chas said, this is a good bit I was jumping for joy all over the house, behind dads back of course, Carl for the first time was smiling, brilliant , Carl said still smiling at the memory, Carl, Chas said just tell me, I was just sitting in my room, I heard the commotion down stairs knew he was going on about me again, so I just stayed in my room, about 10 minutes later Matt came in , Looks like your little plan worked our kid, just looking at him confused , I shrugged my shoulders what plan I asked , well it seem that when you and your little slapper ran off to play pretend mummy and daddy , she passed the abortion deadline, and it gets better for you little brother, it seems had a scan this morning ,Carl looked at Chas, now don't shout at me for this , it didn't seem right to tell you when we were fighting,but ... Just tell me Carl ,has replied , he got hold of my cheeks , I don't know whether he was patronizing me or not , but he just said it seem your going to be a daddy after all, not to one baby but to two,Carl looked at Chas with a eke expression waiting for her to flip even more, sorry Carl said, so there is two of them Chas replied, yes Carl said a boy, I knew there was someone else she was talking about, didn't think it was another kid though, Yes Carl nodded triumphantly, and I was ecstatic , I thought we did it we saved their lives I mean I knew dad would still keep me away but after their born he will love them, why wouldn't he they were his grandchildren after all.

Well come on then super sperm, Chas said, if her name was Charlotte what was his name, Chas asked, Johnny, his name is Johnny, Carl turned and looked at her do you want to see some photo's, Yeah Chas replied, I don't have many got these copied when me and Colleen split up, so there is only about six.I don't know if she got any more after that but I never, Carl got up and walked over to the wardrobe, and he got them out of a book, He started laughing, can't believe am still hiding them even though the miserable old sods dead,yeah Chas replied some people have that effect don't they. Yeah well dad certainly did Carl replied as he handed the photo's to Chas, the top one I took that Carl said its the only time I ever saw them , it was a picture of them in the hospital just after they where born,It was clear that Carl was moved by the photo he seemed proud of it,Chas looked at the pictures one by one while Carl explained as much as he knew about them, witch wasn't much, so I don't understand Chas said what went wrong, I don't know Chas, Carl said he just kept saying It would kill mum , but sometimes it felt like he just wanted to get back at me , one minute mum knew the next she never I never knew what to believe, and I was to scared to ask her,I asked Jimmy one day , did she know he said he hadn't spoke about it, but warned me to say nothing she was very weak at the time, but all I do know was there was alot of phone calls between dad and Colleens parents, but all that did not bother me in the least, oh it will be OK I thought, wait till he See's them I was stupid enough to think he had values, What an idiot I was I should have known , but I loved him Chas he was my dad , I always thought he was right even through this , deep down in my stomach he made me believe it was for the best no matter how much it hurt. So thats why I thought the babies would be fine , Carl had hold of the picture he took, he looked at it and turned to Chas, that was the worst day of my life, she had the twins the day before, I hadn't seen Colleen since we left the flat,I don't know how long it was, but it was made clear to me that I couldn't go near her, Turning his head to Chas , that was the biggest mistake of my life, how I wish I wasn't so scared, I just thought she would have the twins and there is nothing any one could do about it, her parents didn't care they never ever cared, yeah maybe the twins might have been a burden , But I know Chas , I know who it was, he never ever admitted it but I knew he was behind it, there is no other explanation, Colleen was told that when I found out it was twins I ran away again,and when I came back I never wanted to know about the babies, her parents talked her into adoption and told her to tell no one I was the father, that way I wouldn't be held responsible, Carl turned to Chas , now why would Colleens parents do that, they were money grabbers Chas, so why would they do that, I was the son of one of the richest in town , It didn't make sense, he paid them off I know he did, Colleen swore she didn't know whether that happened but with her relationship to Sadie and Sadie's to dad, I did start to have doubts about her, but she was still only 15 when the twins were born so , maybe am to quick to judge. but it all seemed so strange how after it happened dad and Sadie became like father daughter, I always wandered why he liked her so much I couldn't stand her, I never came up with an answer,

Do you want a drink Chas asked Carl, as he sat looking at the photo, erm , erm yeah a drink of water will do, Carl croaked, Chas left the room , and Carl sat there staring at the picture, they where mine there he thought that day they were my babies,smiling at the photo through teary eye's Carl wondered would he ever see them again, would want to see him would he tell them the truth would he believe him , all the thoughts that only occasionally went through his mind these days have been rapidly flashing through his mind since he found out Charlotte had been in touch.

Hay, your not allowed to cry without me here Chas said as she walked back in the room with the drinks, oh sorry Carl replied smiling, just looking at this photo , I smile and cry at the same time at it, I had just found out she had them about one hour before, It was even a mistake I found that out, I walked in dads office, and normally I wasn't allowed in, but this day, Carrie came over from being with mum , Jimmy and Carl wasn't there so Carrie asked me to get some letter out of dads draw for mum, I always had a nose when I went in, dad was right about me sometimes I did get myself into to much trouble ahhhhhhhhh we all done that , but if I hadn't I wouldn't have known the babies were born, when I walked in I pressed play on the answer phone ,it was Colleens dad saying something about her going into labour, even that Chas if they told her I never wanted to know what he hell were they doing letting dad know she went in labour, were taking her to the Royal hospital, wow but it was from the day before and instead of listening to the next message I ran out , As I give Carrie the letter Jimmy walked in the door, huffing and puffing I begged jimmy to take me to the hospital, What the hells going on Carl will you calm down, and have you been in dads office he'll kill yeah, I don't care Jim I kept saying the babies shes having them now, well last night I think , I was like a mad man Jimmy was laughing his face off at me ,you can't Carl dad will go mad at me for taking you to, he was like no am not getting involved, OK I will you lend me some money then, oh go on I will drop you off he said but don't tell dad.so we went in his car, and he was really nice that day dad had stopped all my pocket money for some silly reason , probably now I think about it he was making sure I couldn't get in touch, ahhhhhhhhhh well , Jimmy stopped got me some flowers to give Colleen and lent me his camera that he had in the car, I ran n that hospital as fast as I could must have looked like a mad lunatic didn't even know where the ward was , when I finally found it , I walked down the corridor and I saw them I surmise it was them they were outside a side ward, I looked in the side ward and Colleen was there with her parents,once again me being the wimp that I am I hid in the next room witch was empty, that was fine because I could see them perfectly from where i was and thats when I took the picture. I just stood for ages thinking there mine there my babies, you know what Chas for the first time since I met Colleen I think I actually loved her, she was the mother of my kids now dad wasn't going to stop me seeing them I loved all of them, I mean Chas we was a family, as Carl was talking Chas noticed he was starting to shake, she grabbed him Its OK Carl , Chas said I think I know the next bit you don't need to tell me, They just seem to come from nowhere Chas I didn't know what to do , one minute I was hiding in this little room proud of my family the next , I was screaming in the corridor, Colleen was in floods of tears too i thats how it kicked of she screamed I ran out and it was over, even after that they were so brutal as I wasn't named anywhere they just go security to remove me, I sat on the steps of the hospital for an hour crying my eyes out, still holding the smashed in flowers , Its OK Carl , Chas said holding Carl as he visibly shook, have a drink sweetheart Chas said as she give Carl the glass thanks Carl replied , drinking it, and calming himself down, thats it they were gone, Colleen got a letter saying their names another strange thing to happen , and every no and then she would get a photo no return address nothing, And you know what Chas , Carl said, Dad turned up I was sobbing on that step for about one hour and dad turned up, they must have phoned him, how embarrassing for dad must that have been, all he could say is its for the best son you two where far to young they will have a better life now, For once though I never cared what I said to him , I screamed in that car, how can you say that , they took our babies away, I cried all the way home,and dad soon got sick of that , the its for the best speech didn't last long, It turned into , look at yeah you want to have babies and you crying like one yourself, then it was grow up will yeah lad you sound like a girl. all that night he went on at me until Jimmy had heard enough and butted in , I was amazed he told dad off , and for me, what did he say Chas replied, oh just something like , oh leave him alone dad don't you realize whats happened to him today, and dad said well look at him he a wimp , I think Jimmy just tutted at him and left the room, and a few days later Jimmy passed me a envelope and winked at me, when I opened it , it was the photograph, look what he wrote on the back Carl handed the photo back to Chas , she turned it upside down , it said , Chin up kidda xxxxx

Well I think thats about it , Carl said , blowing his nose , I knew you and your dad had problems Chas replied but I never knew how bad it really was, Yeah Carl replied we did try to put it aside when Thomas was born but it was always there, When I saw him with Thomas in the hospital that first day after he was born, I actually wanted to tell him to get lost, But even then I was scared it was over 4 years nearly five in fact and here i was no different, he was right about one thing I was a waste of space couldn't even protect my own kids, how sad is that, Don't be daft Chas replied you've been brilliant with them, not all of them though Chas I should be there for four kids not two, Yeah well who knows Chas replied , Thomas and Anya may not be here if , Carl interrupted, thats no consolation Chas, I have to explain things to four of them and I only know two of them, its been hard enough telling you I cant explain all that to them its to much.

Sitting on the bed Chas and Carl sat in silence for a while , Carl was stirring at the wall vacant look spread across his face , strange Carl suddenly said its all strange, What is Chas replied, How I feel sometimes Thomas will do something and even though I don't know him, I will randomly think of Johnny , and when Anya does stuff with you like her make up and she is playing I think Charlotte will be doing that for real now, and I will smile and someone will say to me whats up why you laughing, whats funny, Even though I don't know them they make me smile, and now when you ask why am smiling I can say , Carl , took Chas's hand , and that feels good I can talk to you and mention them, Carl lay back on his bed and put his hands behind his head and let out a huge sigh, I am so scared of meeting them Carl said , but you know what am still looking forward to it, they are still my babies and they always will be.

Chas lay next to Carl on the bed, so what did he say when Colleen got pregnant again, Chas remarked, Well by that time Colleen and Sadie where well in together never apart, her parents had move abroad and Sadie had alot of say in our house, her and Jimmy were married and , Colleen was like Sadie's sister, He would have done anything for her, I was a little scared of him finding out but, Sadie had a word and dad was fine in the end, you know what he said to me Chas, I can't keep bailing you out son, I said what is that supposed to mean, Then he remarked about other scrapes I got myself into, But I knew what he meant, Don't know what hold Sadie had over him though, She always seems to have been able to get one over on dad, and he let her , Carl started laughing , am sure they all shared her , Chas started laughing, you reckon ,she replied, No Carl chuckled but something went on, and it was her got on at dad about me marrying Colleen, You can be a man he said, and do the right thing, I had already started despising Colleens money grabbing nature she had adopted from Sadie but I just went along with it trying to keep the Peace.

So is that OK now Carl asked, are we OK, I am sorry that I never told yeah , I just found it hard , Am OK with it Carl , Chas replied but it does still make me think about the trust we have between us, I trust you with my life Carl replied and the kids lives , i don't know how much more proof you need, I told you everything now, oh yeah Chas replied, there will be something else , some dark secret , I don't know about , Chas replied, you know what its like with you Carl , its a never ending mystery, what with this Carrie , confessing to murders, sleeping around , Thats not true Carl interrupted, We were never together, he went on, I know Chas replied but I don't think I can cope if anything else comes up Carl, I mean am constantly waiting for you to finish with me just so you can go off with someone else, And just when I think were fine something crops up and knocks us down again, I know Carl replied but Ive told yeah now, I know Chas replied, but if it wasn't for Anya am not sure you would have even got the chance to even explain, there is nothing else Chas I swear Carl interrupted, if you let this come between us you've done nothing but let him win again, Carl turned to face Chas , he sat up took her hand, don't let him win again please, don't blackmail me Carl , this is nothing to do with your dad its the way you are always so secretive.

Carl lay back on the bed with his hand behind his head, stirring for a minute, a worried look on his face,
Lay down with me he said as he moved over and stroked her hand,Stop it Chas said pulling her hand away come on Carl continued, am tired its all been Emotional draining on us both, lets lye down for a while let things sink in for a while, Chas , looked at Carl and shook her head and smiled, I hate it when you look at me like that she said as she lay down with her head on his chest, look at you like what Carl chuckled, as Carl put his arm round her, seriously Chas, Carl said, am glad I told yeah like I said it feels so good, I want so much for this to work , and am a nutter not telling yeah , shurrup Chas said , am tired too , so lets get an hour in before the kids get home.Chas and Carl fell asleep on top of the bed in each others arms.

Daddy , daddy , Anya shouted as she jumped on the bed, oh when did you get in , Carl said, I had to pick her up , Jimmy said standing at the door, oh crap yeah I forgot all about it, Edna wasn't annoyed was she Carl asked, No Jimmy replied, am sure there's a good excuse she said, Jimmy started laughing, wounder what she would say if she knew you to were in bed together at the time, Oh don't Jimmy, Carl said looking at Anya , as if to say don't alert her mind to it. I know Jimmy replied, I remember Edna last time she caught you two together, hey its not like that Carl said jumping up followed by Chas, how did he do then Carl shouted through to Matt as he walked passed his room, Dad Thomas shouted as he realized his dad had walked past, Matt and Jimmy said am better than you was at my age, Did they Carl shouted back, well it wont be long before your better than them then will it, Carl , Chas shouted as Carl was walking to the living room, what , whats up he said am only here, you better read this I got a text, what Carl said nervously taking her phone.
