OK my story starts when Carl has ended his affair with barraclough Carl walks into the woolly
Carl pint please . Chas passes him his pint
Carl can i have a word please Chas not really says Chas as she pretends not to be interested please i need to talk to you i need to get afew things of my chest . Chas replys i think you've already got enough of your chest Carl i cant take any more insults thanks .you know i didn't mean all that i need to explain a few things , Chas replys oh do mean how you slept with the copper from hell , don't worry Carl i already know any way thats your business now isn't it . please i cant take this any more we have to talk i need you to understand .Chas tries to ignore him and Carl sits on a stool by the bar most of the night drinking mostly pints with a few whiskeys in between he kept thinking to himself i cant get to drunk i have got to get this right ,but as the night went on so did he still drinking .TIME PLEASE Dianne calls and Carl looks up at a half empty pup he thought to himself i wait till they empty and she might talk to me then .Chas was cleaning tables when Carl approached her . i still love you Chas he said i know you feel the same , please Chas please i don't care any more if i don't tell you now i may never tell you please . Chas looked up at Carl she suddenly saw a desperate man the man she loved for so long she seen sorrow in his eyes her heart ached to hold him ,but she was scared of letting her defenses down and worried it was just another cruel game he was playing , look Carl Chas said don't mess with my head am getting over you now i don't need this you've hurt me enough.i know but i need to explain because my head has been everywhere please ,suddenly Dianne approached come on Carl your the last its home time and am really tied . Carl looked at Chas desperately and said please Chas please , wait for me outside i will be finished in about 10 Min's i will come and see you then now go Ive got lock up now.

Carl was waiting outside wandering if he was about to make another huge mistake thinking how can i tell her he thought shall i just say it or explain first ,he was pacing up and down frantic when finally Chas came out .right you've got 5 Min's I'm tired i want to go to bed .Carl asks Chas to sit on the bench outside the pup Chas i need to explain some things to you ,Carl starts pacing up and down again i cant live with this no more Chas I'm sorry but Ive got to turn myself in , Chas looks at Carl stunned she knew what he was saying but she could not take it in . i wanted you to know before you hear it off someone else , still struggling to accept what he was saying she said what for what have you done it cant be that bad . tears start running down Carl's face , it was me Chas it was me I'm sorry ,i didn't want to drag you into it i love you to much for that .but theres one thing i want thou to know i didn't mean it i tried to catch him ,i don't care if any one else believes me so long as you do .Chas looks up at the broken man she has loved for so long ,she just stood up and grabbed hold of him Carl collapsed in her arms , sobbing frantically Carl said i had to finish with you Chas i never meant to hurt you i had to make you hate me I'm so sorry .just then the moment was broke when Dianne came out . Chas love we must get this place locked up now Ive got to get of home jack will be worried, sensing something was wrong Dianne said why don't you 2 come in out the cold and you can lock up and i will get off home. Dianne made a hurried exit and left Carl and Chas in the pup alone . do you want to talk about it , Ive got to Chas Ive wanted to talk to you for months and its just made me go crazy i mean i don't even recognize myself anymore . Chas tries to lighten the atmosphere and says i know what you mean.Chas i was so mad with him i wanted to know why he paid you off like that i told him how much i loved you and he just laughed in my face Chas and then he said you will get over it . Chas i cant even remember picking the statue up it happened that fast i just hit him with it i was stunned at what i had done and for a split second i froze i think.then i noticed him falling back wards i rushed forward to grab him but i missed his grip and he fell out the window .Chas looked up and said oh Carl I'm so sorry . Chas started feeling that somehow she was partly to blame . no Carl said this has nothing to do with you i mean Ive wanted to confront him over this for years always giving my girl friends the once over making sure they were good enough for the family then when they didn't match up he would scare them off some how ,honest it got that way were i only ever had one night stands because i was scared he would disapprove. even colleen wasn't my choice she was his choice i mean Ive got 2 kids i hardly ever see cuz he made me marry a woman i didn't love .then he threatened to disinherit my kids if i didn't sabotage Tate haulage for him ,something else i had no choice in .so see Chas it hasn't got any thing to do with you that was just the final straw.Chas leans over and hugs Carl , will you come with me ,you know to the police station tomorrow .Chas suddenly realizes he hasn't mentioned Matt and jimmy and says have you asked Matt and jimmy what they think do they know .Carl looked up and said they know thieve been covering for me Chas and i killed there dad they must hate me deep down .Chas grabbed Carl's face and says Carl they know you they know it could very easily have been any of them in your shoes thats why .there getting a bit fed up with me tho Chas i keep acting like a Pratt i think i want to get caught ,you know like having an affair with the main busy on the case.i don't think thats the best thing Ive ever done,and you know what she thinks its Matt . Chas grabbed him and said you never told her anything did you Carl, no but even if i had i don't think she can use it .but inearly did so many times . why tho Carl why did you have to sleep with her i mean you said you always loved me . i do Chas I'm just so sorry it meant nothing ,it doesn't really matter any more tho Chas because you've got to get on with your life now i cant live like this any more i mean I'm making everybody's life a misery ,yours Jimmy's Matt's the kids every ones Ive got to do it Chas . no Carl i will help you through it we can do it you've got it off your chest now we can do it i know we can.Chas when Matt and jimmy find out Ive told you ,you know thieve got nothing against you but i think there going to go mental i cant please no one any more I'm a liability to every one . let me talk to them Carl i will explain i talked you out of it they come round please Carl. Chas Ive made my mind up i owe it to them i killed there dad. OK Carl but will you just sleep on it tonight please .Carl leans forward and kisses Chas ,they brake off and Carl says i need to be with you tonight ,i. need you to hold me can i stay here tonight with you .Chas gets up and makes sure the woolly is all locked up she turns the lights of and grabs Carl's hand and leads him upstairs. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK

it was almost 2 in the morning when Chas and Carl went to bed they were both so mentally exhausted that they just fell right asleep in each others arms , it was the first time in a long time Carl had a good nights sleep.it was around 7.30am when Carl woke up he felt so at ease with himself. he thought how good it was to let her know how he really thought about her . he started liking round the room until he found a pen and paper .and he started to write a letter to Chas , he left the letter on the pillow gently kissed Chas on the chin and quietly left the pup by the back door . Carl knew what he had to do he didn't feel scared any more as he walked through the village he passed a few locals he just nodded at them and carried on walking .when he reached the police station he never even hesitated .inside he calmly rang the bell and waited until someone came out morning Mr king the duty officer said your becoming a regular lately what can i do for you,Carl just looked up and said i want to confess to the murder of my father.meanwhile it was around 8.30 when has woke up it took her a minute to realize Carl wasn't there she shouted him then she noticed the letter on the pillow ,oh no she thought hes gone she quickly phoned his number without even reading the letter. she rang his number it stated ringing next to her on the dresser . Chas started panicking she didn't know what to do . then she had a thought she picked up the phone and phoned home farm scarlet answered .hello its Chas is Carl there no why do you want him any way ,have you seen him this morning no he had row with jimmy and Matt last night we haven't seen him since .well is jimmy or Mathew there then .no there in bed ,well scarlet you'd better go and get them up i need to talk to one of them.just then Matt came through the door ,who's on the phone ,its Chas she wants to know where Carl is . Matt replied dint we all. she wants to talk to you . Matt takes the phone Chas didn't know how Matt was going to take it he might just say well leave the idiot the but she had try they needed to find him. Matt i think Carl's gone to the police Matt acting cautious said what the hell for . he came round last night he was desperate . he told me every thing he said he wanted to tell me before he turned himself in he was determined Matt ,i asked him to sleep on it i told him i would stand by him and i let him stay the night but Ive just woke up and hes gone.Chas hes playing games he will be home soon you watch . no Matt hes left me a note i think he has gone I'm worried for him Matt he was really bad last night .OK what time do you reckon he went well Ive just woke up so i don't know .well ill jump in the car no and see if i can catch him before he gets there , Chas asked Matt to phone when he found him and they rang off.

ive nearly finishing the next chapter post in about 30 mins

when Matt arrived at the police station there was no sign of Carl anywhere he sat in his car for a while not knowing what to do he didn't want the police getting suspicious by barging in asking questions so he just sat round for 10 minutes .he phoned Chas back up and said, Chas there is no sign of him ,i cant go in or i will be drawing attention to myself I'm going to have to leave it here but i will drive round the village looking for him. Chas agreed and said she would look round to.back at home farm jimmy got up , Matt up yet he asked scarlet ,yes hes gone out i don't know where but i think it had something to do with Carl because Chas phoned up looking for him and Matt went out straight away without getting a wash or a shave or nothing and told me to phone him if Carl turns up. jimmy just said oh whats he been up to now,just then Matt came through the door ,well whats he done now jimmy asks ,Matt just looks at him then looks at scarlet ,haven't you got school or something . its Saturday ,Matt here heres some money scarper. whats wrong she asks i know somethings up. just go please i need to talk to jimmy alone,hes my brother as well you know .Matt stared at her angrily so she turned on her heels and left not knowing where she was going. as soon as she left the house jimmy looked at a very worried Matt and said what the hell has he done ,oh well were shall i start ,well hes only gone and told the barmaid with the biggest mouth in Yorkshire every thing .jimmy just gulped at the thought then he replied i think Chas loves him Matt and he dose miss her.ye well i hope thats all hes done what why ,well according to Chas he was hell bent on turning himself in.jimmy just looked at his brother stunned i don't understand he said as he sat down slowly are you sure was Chas sure or was he just trying to get her to bed . no jimmy he'd already stayed the night chase let him stay, then he left his phone and a letter next to Chas this morning and left . what was in the letter jimmy asked to Matt's annoyance i don't bloody no do i , i never asked i just wanted to find him.jimmy just looked up at Matt and said i don't believe it i mean i thought he was mad but i didn't think he'd do that for her ,for them.Matt just looked at jimmy not knowing what he meant ,what on earth do you mean , jimmy still carried on staring at the floor said i knew it was getting to him but, i don't understand. frustrated , Matt said angrily you know something don't you jimmy still to shocked to answer just sat there with a bewildered look on his face,jimmy Matt screamed still no reply with that Matt grabbed jimmy by he freshly ironed shit and screamed tell me jimmy tell me ,jimmy just looked at him still in shock and said hes Innocent Matt he didn't do it

back at the station Carl was getting interviewed by inspector Vaughn he refused a solicitor and just told the same story he'd been telling all along .but nobody had asked about the murder. weapon before so he was abit taken back when they asked about it he simply answered no comment.back at home farm things were getting a bit heated between jimmy and Matt jimmy was reluctant to say to much because he had promised his brother but he realized he had no choose Matt jimmy said Carl was getting blackmailed.what do you mean who would want to do that well he thinks its rosemary but we have no proof but she has got people working for her if its her . and what on earth would they have on Carl if he is Innocent , well he said it happened just like he said but when he hit him with the statue he fell on the floor , Matt he said when he left the room he was sitting on the bed shouting at him . when dad fell he thought it was an accident due to him being dizzy ,so he went back up the stairs to get the statue and it was gone. Matt who ever it is are threatening the kids and Chas thats why he finished with Chas .they phone him all the time threatening to go to the police unless unless he pays them money they use one of those pre paid mobiles. but worse is they keep threatening the kids .thats why Matt thats why he told us it was him because .they whee threatening the kids they said they would hurt them and Chas.Matt just stood there in shock not knowing what to say. well then how the hell did you find out ; when he had that fight with Eli dingle and got arrested , he went out and got wasted when he came home we had a massive row and he broke down and told me everything he made me promise not to tell you he said you would go straight to the police ,to witch Matt replied dam right i would. i should have known about this sooner Matt said he said he wanted to sort it out himself thats why he went with that barracking he was seeing if he could scare them.jimmy Matt said did he give them any money jimmy looked at him sheepishly ,there his kids Matt ,how much Matt replied 150 grand .how the hell did he hide that from me Matt asked jimmy said he got a loan so you would not find out.as Matt and jimmy were arguing the door bell rang. Matt answered the door inspector Vaughn was standing at the door hello Matt Ive just come to in form you weave made an arrest .i bet you have Matt replied . I'm afraid Carl has confessed and been charged with murder.

Matt and jimmy called the inspector in ,Matt asked what solicitor he had ,and the inspector replied he declined ,what jimmy said you never got him a solicitor . well I'm insisting on him having one asap Matt said. he admitted it Matt .,the inspector said . also he needs to see a doctor . why dose he need to see a doctor the inspector said .because hes just admitted a murder i know he never done . you don't do that for nothing do you ,the inspector asked what makes you think Carl is lying .well i think we will let our jimmy tell you that one .they turned towards jimmy, jimmy just looked up and said , he was getting blackmailed thieve threatened his kids and his girl friend have you got any proof ,no jimmy said there careful but Ive been there when the phones rang and he just panics ,on what grounds are there for blackmail the inspector asks .Matt and jimmy both looked at each other not knowing whether or not they were about to dig a deeper hole or help him out .but they thought this is time for the truth, so they told the truth in the hope that they would be believed .jimmy told it the way Carl told him without leaving out a single detail , he also told them that now that the truth was coming out Carl's kids and Chas needed to be protected .Carl would not do this unless he was desperate jimmy said .Matt asked if there was any chance he they could talk to their brother . the inspector said look Ive known you for a long time now i shouldn't but i will try . please jimmy said i think he needs to know we want to help him .look Matt said i know you don't think rosemary had anything to do with this but Carl dose so can you be a bit cautious with her please. look Matt at the moment Carl has been charged and she was his wife we have to inform her .look Charles Matt said sternly my dad is dead and my brother is on the verge of a break down his kids and his girlfriends life is in danger .and hes been charged with his dads murder,and the main policeman is my dads best mate surly you can offer a little protection, so when we see him we can tell him were looking after them .tell you what jimmy said you just get the kids protection and we will look after Chas we will let her move back here for a while, Matt looked at jimmy and said as if. Matt he wont tell the truth unless they are all safe ,i know you don't like her that much but he dose and this is about Carl isn't it , oh i suppose she dose make a nice curry Matt said.an any way i don't think shes that bad i just like winding him up of cause we will Lock after her.with that the inspector decided to leave and he said he would sort out the protection as soon as Carl told the truth he had to agree first , they said their goodbyes and Matt and jimmy set about finding a solicitor.

Chas was still at the pub waiting for information ,it was midday now and she was starting work, Dianne seen how edgy she looked and said ,is everything alright Chas ,yes Chas replied , is it Carl I'm telling you you should get rid if him once and far all ,at least until hes gone through this crisis that hes going through right now, Dianne was just going on about how Carl had gone off the rails .Chas thought oh my god whats she going to think when finds out what he told me last night.just then jimmy and Matt came in , can we have a word please jimmy said .Dianne was looking over wondering what was going on ,Matt noticed and said in private. yes then she asked Dianne could she take them in the back .Dianne agreed but asked was every thing alright. Chas assured her and they went through. well Chas said what happened have you found out any thing yet , he turned him self in and hes been charged with murder.jimmy asked Chas could he see the letter and she got it for him , we might need this for the police , why what for well we've just got in touch with a solicitor and when we told him he told us to keep hold of it it could help us.Matt started to read the letter,it said,(Chas i think you know how much Ive always loved you but this is something i don't feel like i have much choise in i honestly cant live like this any more my head is aching all the time with worry i think you and the kids will be better off without me ,you can all get on with your lives .will you tell jimmy and Matt I'm sorry about everything i didnt mean to be a selfish pratt .but i really dont think they understood how bad it got for me tell them to tell Thomas and Anya that i love them . please dont wait for me go and meet someone who you deserve. all my love Carl) do you think there is any think in that Matt ,that we can use ,i mean he mentions Chas and the kids in the same way, different to how he mentions us ,true Matt said he tells them they will be better off without him but not us .there could be some think there i dint know we will have to wait and see. wait the hell are you two on about Chas asked .never mind that Matt said what happened between you two last night to trigger this of ,Chas said dont blame me it was you two that had been arguing with him not me scarlet told me this morning.yes well you knew what frame of mind he was in why didnt you phone us up i thought i managed to calm him down Matt I'm sorry,then jimmy said stop it Matt its not her fault it all our fault we should have been there a bit more. yet but jimmy some new a bit More than others didn't they Jim.why what do you know jimmy Chas asked a bit bemused by the whole conversation, jimmy said you should sit down we have a few things to talk over.Chas Carl is getting blackmailed ,what why would anyone want to blackmail Carl well when he told you he killed dad he didn't but he did hit him with the statue . dad was arguing with him still when he left the room who ever murdered dad has the statue with Cal's D.N.A. on it Chas there threatening you Thomas and Anya thats why he finished with you .so they would think he didnt love you any more he thinks it could be rosemary i think that is why he argued with you in public but i dont know what made him do this today there must be something else .Chas we think you will be better off coming to stay at home farm the security will be better and we will get some guards. i cant Chas said my job ,Chas Matt said if your not safe Carl wont tell the truth but you cannot say any think yet keep it quiet until the papers leek it then you dont answer any questions do you OK then Chas said pick me up in 1 hour Ive got to talk to Dianne.jimmy and Matt left and said they would return in 1 hour,

when jimmy and matt left, chas went into the bar to talk to dianne , she didnt want to tell her the truth but she thought she had to to keep her job. dianne can i have a word she said , dianne looked at her and said come on tell me whats he done now must be pretty bad for them two to come round .dianne she said can i have some time off i dont know how long but iwant to know if my jobs safe .sorry love i need staff i cant afford to lose staff . if you leave ive got to replace you im sorry. chas said ok .and said she had to leave straight away.dianne could tell something was wrong ,whatevers the matter love she said , dianne its carl hes been charged with his dads murder, what i dont beleive it he killed his own dad. ive got to leave dianne because before long everyones going to know and i cant face all that . so what did he want then last night , o my god i left ypu with him . chas looked up and said dianne he wouldent hurt me. yes we thought he wouldnt hurt his dad niether , dianne leave it this is why i have to leave .even you having a go , whats everyone else going to say.he told me last night dianne and i told him i would stand by him .chas he didnt stay here last night did he . chas just looked at her . oh you stuppid girl your finished why did you get involved with hum again after everythink he has put you through.because i love him thats all . were are you going any way dianne asks ,im going to home farm chas said trying not to reveal to much i need a little time away from every one ,ok dianne said i will try to hire a temp.thanx oh and could you please keep it . to yourself ,at least until ive gone . chas people will find outsooner or later , i know and thats why i want to go now. ok thenif thats what you want but i think you should stay and hold your head up high youve got nothing to be shammed of ,chas ignored her and she wen to pack .

when Chas got to home farm , she started to unpack all her belongings when she realized she still had Carl's phone she had packed it earlier in the pup. she put it on the dresser and carried on unpacking ,she thought at first she would give him it back hopefully when he got out of this mess, just then a text message popped up on the phone Chas picked the phone up and read the text , it said (you never turned up you know what that means) Chas was shocked this meant alot to Chas as it proved to her that Carl must be Innocent. then she started panicking what else did it mean . she run downstairs shouting Matt and jimmy , what the hells the matter Matt said ,look look , look at this Carl has a text i think it off them . give us it here Matt said snatching it out of Chase's hand ,Matt and jimmy both looked . then they decided to go through all his other texts they didn't find any think . but there was plenty of missed calls from withheld numbers ,they immediately phoned Carl's solicitor , who advised the police ,meanwhile at the police station inspector Vaughn had decided to interview Carl again ,he wanted to make sure Carl was telling the truth ,because his brothers were convinced he wasn't . Carl we have informed your brothers of your arrest ,Carl replied and , well they don't believe you did it ,jimmy said you are getting blackmailed ,Carl replied ye well they would wouldn't they there trying to protect me thats all,you know I'm the baby brother thats what it is . Carl are you telling us every think , yes Carl said, i mean if you've got anything to add to your statement we can get some protection ,Carl started to get more edgy the inspector noticed and said i know your hiding something ,look Carl said sternly tell my brothers idid it accept it .OK inspector Vaughn said but ,can make arrangements to meet them would you like to see them Carl , whatever Carl replied OK i will arrange it ,just one thing Carl said before you go iwouldnt mind seeing Chas as well.i will see what i can do inspector Vaughn left the room knowing Carl was hiding something.when he left the room he had a message that jimmy Matt and Chas were waiting for him in reception, he went to see them, well have we got something for you Matt said , what the inspector asked ,they handed over the phone and the inspector looked at it,they got called into a room and told to wait while the inspector checked a few things out,15 Min's went by then the inspector came back ,right this is how it is this is not proof but after interviewing Carl earlier today i do believe he is hiding something so we are stopping all press release concerning Carl's arrest that way we may get more calls to this phone and we can try to find out a bit more about them.thanks they said ,you must make sure you don't tell anybody as this can cause it all to go wrong the inspector said , oh my god what have i done Chas said what jimmy said , Ive told Dianne what the hell did you tell her for Matt said ,i had to tell her i needed to keep my job, she said she wouldn't tell any one but idont know ,well we better call her Matt said handing Chas his mobile annoyingly, i cant get any answer it must be busy Chas said well we better get over there quick then hadn't we, they all left in a hurry hopping it wasn't to late.

when they got back to the pup, to their relief Dianne had not spoken to any body as it was still quiet in the pup she had not seen any of the locals,they explained everything to Dianne and she agreed to keep things quiet ,she also apologized to Chas for all the things she had said about him,i am shocked Chas Dianne said it all makes sense now.you should have told me Chas you know i would always listen to you, Dianne i only found out the truth this morning last night he told me it was him. Chas suggested that as things were being kept quiet that until they got Carl to tell the truth she should stay at work . they all agreed and Matt and jimmy left the pup and Chas went to work that night.early the next morning inspector Vaughn phoned home form , Matt and jimmy had decided they would start calling him Charlie ,and try to be more friendly with him so he would feel more close to them. Matt answered the phone , hello Charlie , Matt said , you got any news on them texts yet, no not yet hes still keeping to his original statement. well let me see him i,ll sort him out ,well Matt thats what i,m phoning for , Ive pulled some strings i should,nt really but you can see him for 10 minates at 2pm this afternoon, but he wants to see Chas as well, Matt said OK but can i ask you a question Charlie ,what ,do you believe us ,Charlie answered ,Matt i don't know the truth but i do know Carl,s holding something back .and whatever it is we need to find out ,i will do all i have to to find out what that truth is .Charlie Matt said thanks for everything ,no problem Charlie said i hope you will still be thanking me when its all over. well Matt said you do your job right and i will. Matt and jimmy went to the pup before it opened they didn't want anyone getting suspicious about them meeting Chas they knew people would wounder why they were meeting as they hav,nt spoken for months. at the pup they discussed what way to approach Carl ,they knew he was in a frail state of frame of mind. Matt suggested we should just tell him straight i,ll tell the idiot he said .Matt jimmy said why do you think he told me the truth and not you, he,s listened to dad talk like that all his life,he needs to know we love him , Chas agreed and said i,m going to let him know i love him, i think thats what he needs to hear, Matt said oh you mean like the other night when he went straight to the police. well maybe we could all do it differently ,jimmy said he should know how we all feel, they all agreed and made arrangement to meet Chas at the police station at 1.45pm . Chas was 15 minutes early at the`police station Matt and jimmy arrived` 10 minutes later , they all just sat looking at one another in silence.Charlie came out exactly at 2pm he just nodded at them , and said follow me ,before`they got to were Carl was being held Charlie said ,we have another 24 hours extension to question him , i really should,t be doing this i can get into serious trouble for it,you have to make him listen now or it will be along time before you get to see him again. they all just nodded and looked at each other ,jimmy said well we better get this right then haddn,t we. when they got in the room Carl wasn,t there they were asked to wait a moment while Charlie went to get him.
