The next morning,at 8 oc clock,Chas came into Anyas bedroom.She stood looking at her stepdaughter for a few moments."Anya?"she whispered gently."Anya!Wake up.Youve got school."Anya cursed,and burrowed deeper into the bed.Chas frowned.She caught the end of the duvet and pulled it off Anya."AAAAAAAAAAARGH!What-what did you do that for???I-I need to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep..."Anya mumbled,pulling the pillow over her ears so she wouldnt hear Chas.Chas pulled the pillow away from her head."GET UP!!Come on,I'll drop you and Scarlett in.Anya-I have something to ask you as well." Anya still didnt look up.Ahe guessed what was coming next."No I wasnt drinking.I know its bad for the baby.So I didnt."She lied."Thats good"Chas said,before poking Anya."Will ya ever just get up!!!!!" "FINE!!!!!!I AM!!!!!!!!!!ooooooooooh,my head!"Anya clutched her head when she sat up.Her wild,untamed hair fell around her shoulders.She had big bags under her eyes.She had to get somethinf for this hangover.Chas rolled her eyes."Breakfast is on the table."

Anya came down the stairs half an hour later,make up plastered on,hair pulled back into a high pony tail,wearing her new Nike Air tracksuit.She hadnt got her uniform yet.Carl said he would get it for her today.Everyone was seated around the table,except Scarlett and Kelly who was doing Scarletts hair at the counter.They both threw her dirty looks when she came in.Anya smirked back at them.She grabbed a roll,and tore into it hungrily.Matt smiled at his niece.Carl stared at her,looking her up and down."Could you have not taken off some of the make-up?I want you to make a good first impression." Anya gave him the dirtiest look.Carl felt small,as he always done when he was on the receiving end of a dirty look.Chas appeared in the doorway."Ready to go?" "Yeah"Scarlett said,pulling her schoolbag onto her back."One sec"said Anya,grabbing her phone."Okay.Bye lads,see ye all later."She waved at her uncles and her father,and,throwing one last look one last look at kelly,followed Chas and Scarlett out the door.
After a seemingly long journey listening to Scarlett yap out boring stuff,Anya was for the first time relieved to arrive at school gates.She thanked Chas for the lift and began to walk to the headmasters office.Scarlett was getting out of the front seat when Chas stopped her."Look,"she began,"I know you hate Anya,but do me a favour.Will you just watch her please?Make sure she doesnt get into any trouble.Please?"She added when she saw the look on Scarletts face."Alright,"Scarlett said reluctantly,"but im NOT hanging around with her.And im NOT making friends with her."Chas looked at the hooded figure fading into the distance."Fine.Thanks a lot,Scarlett."
When Chas arrived at the office,the door was shut.She made to knock on the door,but a voice beside her said "Dont."Anya turned around and saw a good-looking boy around her age sitting on a bench."Are you Anya?" Stunned that this boy knew her name,she nodded."Yeah"she said."Oh.Im Aaron.Im new here too.The Head said to wait here for her.She said someone called Anya was starting here today as well,and to tell her to wait as well." "Right.Thanks." She sat down beside him.Aaron was wearing jeans and a jersey that Anya didnt recognize.They talked,and soon they realised they found they had a lot of interests in common.Time past quickly,and soon enough the Head exited her office."So,"she said,rubbing her hands together,"where will we start?"

Matthew King sat at the bar,enjoying his lunchtime pint.He was deep in thought about Anya and her first day at her new school.She tough,he thought to himself.She'll be fine.He raised his pint in cheers to his niece,and swallowed it back.
"And thats our lovely tour concluded.What do you think?"Anya and Aaron looked at eachother."Its-its nice enough"said Anya.Aaron agreed."Well,"said the Head,looking at her watch,"I have to go to a meeting.You two run along to your next class-Geography,i think.That would be in the Geography Room." "Well spotted"said Aaron under his breath so only Anya could hear him.She sniggered,quickly turning it into a cough when the Head looked at her.She turned and walked away.When she turned the corner,Anya and Aaron exploded in laughter."Did-did you see her SHOES?!?!"cried Aaron,bent over laughing."I KNOW!"spluttered Anya."And her face when i started laughing!" Aaron blew out his cheeks,mimicking the large lady."Well,we better go in."said Aaron,reaching for the door handle.He paused.Anya didnt know what it was,but she felt the same sinking feeling as him."Think of it this way,"she reassuered him,"only this class left and then we're free."The tour had started straight after the paper work had been ran through.And,as always,that had taken a very long time.Aaron turned his head and smiled at her.Anya felt butterflies in her stomach.Or maybe it was just the baby.Aaron turned the door handle and pushed the door open.
"Whats your poison?"said a female voice beside Matthew,knocking him out of his thoughts.He looked up to see Carrie smirking at him."You"he sneered,getting up."Must dash.Talk to you soon."He left.Carrie turned to Val,"A vodlka and coke please,Val"

After Geography,Anya and Aaron were walking out of the school gates together.Anya was telling him why she had to move school.She didnt tell him the reason her mom kicked her out though."So why are you here?"Anya asked Aaron."My dad got relocated.So we moved here.Worst thing is,my mother lives here."He had told Anya all about his mother earlier.Anya smiled sympathetically at him."Do you wanna come to house today?Id say dad wont mind." Aaron smiled."Okay."
Scarlett wallked out of Maths with Regina,her best friend.Thank God,Anya wasnt in her class.She stretched."Do you want to come back to my dads?My mom is working,so i have to go to his.We can do our homework,and then rent a movie or something." "No,sorry,i cant.I have piano,so boring.What about tomorrow?" "Alright." "See you"Scarlett turned and walked in the direction of Home Farm.
"Want somthing to drink?"Anya asked,going into the kitchen.Aaron followed her.Chas and Carl,who were having tea,were in the kitchen."Oh,hi An-"Carl stopped short when he saw who was behind her.Chas dropped the mug she was holding.It smashed all over the floor.Anya looked back at Aaron to see his reaction.Aaron's eyes were wide,his mouth open."Umm....well...this is Aaron,everybody-" "We know"snapped Carl."Carl,just leave it"said Chas quietly,looking down at her fingers."Oh!Oh,so your going to punish me for having
friends now?Well,Carl,I have news for you!Aaron is MY friend,and hes staying here!I dont know what the hell your problem is with him!!!" "I have to go,my dad will be wondering where i am."muttered Aaron quietly,before turning and walking out.

Kelly and Jimmy were sitting in the office,on the computer,looking up holidays.Jimmy had suggested it,not wanting to leave Carl and his confusing offsping have all the fun."So,where do you fancy?Italy?Brazil?"he asked his wife-to-be,typing rapidly."Hmm..."Kelly slid onto the arm of the chair that Jimmy was sitting on,staring at the screen,"ummmm......what bout Spain?No!NOOOO!GO BACK!!!!"shrieked Kelly,stabbing at the screen.Jimmy quickly clicked the back button."There!What about New York???"asked Kelly,looking at Jimmy with big pleading eyes.Jimmy smiled,in that soppy way he always did when Kelly made those eyes."Alright!We're going to New York!" "YAAAAAY!Thanks Jim!"Kelly gave him a big kiss,"we can go shopping,and ice skating,and some more shopping......."
Anya turned slowly around to face her father and her stepmother."What,"she growled,"was that about?"Carl opened his mouth,but Chas got there first."That-that was Aaron" Anya rolled her eyes impatiently."YES!Yes,well done,Chas.Full marks."Carl looked at her.She ignored him."My...son Aaron."
Scarlett walked up the long drive to Home Farm.She had stopped at the shop to grab a sandwich.She was starving.She was always starving on Mondays.She kept munching.As always,her thoughts turned to Daz.She hadnt spoken to him in ages.Then she remembered.She had decided not to speak to him.Oh well,she thought.His loss.She reached the front door and went inside.
She walked into one of the most awkward silences she would ever walk into in her life,even in her years to come.Anya stood,still,staring at Chas.Chas was staring at her fingers on the table.Carl looked away from his wife,up at Scarlett."Hi"he said weakly,trying to pretend nothing happened."How wasschool?" Scarlett threw her bag down on the floor beside her."Okay,whats wrong?"she sighed.Anya strode up toer,putting her face inches from Scarletts."You would HAVE to know,wouldn't you?"she whispered menacingly,before slamming intoo her shoulder and walking out.

"Yeah.New best friends,eh?"mumbled Chas,with tears in her eyes.Carl put his arm around her shoulders."I...I have to go do my homework,anyway.See you in a bit"muttered Scarlett,before rushing out.She didnt want to intrude.
Nosy cow,thought Anya,in the privacy of her room.She has to know everything,doesnt she?She paced the room,thinking.She picked up her phone,and dialled Daz's number."Hiya,Daz?......Im fine thanks,how are you?.....Yeah,do you fancy coming over tonight.....I need to tell you something......ok,see you then!"she hung up and began rummaging in her wardrobe for the hottest outfit she could find.
Matthew walked into the office,to find Kelly and Jimmy already there."Hey Jim.Kelly."he added,nodding.Kelly and he didnt get on at the best of the times."Hey,"said Jimmy,looking up from the computer screen."What you looking at then?"Matthew said,peering over his elder brother's shoulder."None of your business"snapped Kelly,but not before,he had caught a glimpse."New York,eh?"he grinned,"Very fancy.And how are you planning to pay for this,Jim?I hope its not out of our accounts." "Of course not."lied Jimmy,"im paying myself." "Good" Jimmy sighed.He would have to do a Del Dingle now.

The doorbell rang.Anya sneaked out onto the landing,peeking around Scarletts semi-closed bedroom door.She was busy singing along to her CD player while reading a book.Ugh,thought Anya to herself,her singing is terrible.Anya tiptoed across the landing,to the bars of wood that were the handrail.She adjusted the strap of her tight pink top.She also was wearing her new black skinny jeans.The doorbell rang again."I'm coming,"she shouted,coming downstairs,but not before Jimmy got the door."Oh,hi Daz.I'll get Scarlett now." "No actually im here to see Anya." "Oh!Oh,right.Well,go on up.Fancy something to drink?" "No thanks,Mr.King." Daz began to climb the stairs.Anya was already back in her room,practising what she was going to say.As his footsteps came closer,she fixed her hair.Finally he was at her door."Can I come in?"he asked,grinning."Yeah,come in.I have something to tell you."said Anya,pushing up on the bed to make room for Daz to sit down."I have something to to tell you too......"Daz trailed off,looking at Anya."Well?What did you want to tell me?"he laughed."Scarletts cheating on you!"she blurted out,lying through her teeth."Oh.Well hats okay,I guess." Anya made a face."But you like love her,dont you?" "I think I love someone else now"murmered Daz as they moved in to kiss........

Thay were all over eachother.They never heard the footsteps coming closer,and closer,to the bedroom door.Finally the footsteps were there,the shadow beneath the door stopped,and begen to open the door,so silently that it never dawned on Anya that someone was there.Scarlett came into the room.She caught sight of her boyfriend kissing her half-sister.She froze for a second,hoping that this was just a dream.One thought entered her head-"Bitch".
Jimmy,Matthew and Carl were sitting in the kitchen drinking coffee when they heard the big bang and the screaming.They looked at eachother."What the-" "Daz and Anya"muttered Jimmy as he sped up the stairs.Carl raced up after him.Mathhew chuckled,and picked up his coffee before casually walking up after them.
Jimmy burst into the room to find Daz standing,staring open-mouthed at Scarlett,who was pinned against the wall by Anya.Her nose was pumping blood and she was slouched slightly,held up only by Anya's surprisingly powerful arms.Anya seemed unscathed.Carl ran in behind Jimmy."ANYA!"he pulled her arms from Scarlett's shoulders.Scarlett slid down the wall slowly until she hit the ground with a a thud."Are you okay?"Carl asked Scarlett gently,helping her up.Scarlett shook her head.She felt as though she was going to be sick.This was too much.She walks in on her sister getting cosy with the love of her life,then gets the crap beaten out of her by the same girl.It should be the other way around.She started sobbing.Daz stood still.He was staring,riveted,like a car crash he wanted to but still couldnt tear his gaze from,at the scene.Anya was standing beside him,a smirk across her face.She turned to Daz."Okay,look,no offence,but I don't like you.You played your part.Now stay away from me,Got it?"she turned on her heel and walked out,followed by Carl,who was screaming at her.Daz stared after her in awe.He had to admit,that girl had class.

Anya ran into her room and locked the door.She ignored her fathers yells to open the door,which became quieter and quieter every minute that passed.Soon they were pleads,then he fell completely silent.Anya knelt down on the floor to check that he was gone.Sure enough,she saw Carl's shoes facing her.Oh well.He can wait there outside all night if he wants.She put on her stereo and cranked up the volume,then sat back on her bed,textin Aaron.Soon,she heard Chas come up."Look,"she heard her say to her husband,"just leave her.She'll come out when shes ready." Listen to her,Dad,willed Anya silently.She heard him mumble something,and then they both left.
"Scarlett?Scarlett,come here." Scarlett was standing in her bedroom,trying to conceal the marks left on her face that had been left after the nutter tried to do her in.She looked in the mirror to see her Kelly with her arms open wide.Scarlett got up and ran into her arms."Why did he do it?How could he do that to me?"she was all cried out now,no more tears to fall."Shhh,"whispered Kelly,guiding her over to her bed and sitting her down on it.She knelt down before her. "If he cheated on you with some random tart,he's not worth it.Trust me,I know" Scarlett looked at her with big eyes. "But I really love him,y'know.I thought he felt the same.Obviously not!" "Look,"Kelly said,frustrated that she couldn't cheer her up."Will we go shopping tomorrow?Forget all about men!Boys-whichever age you are!Remember the King female saying-Boys are whatever,Shopping forever!"she said in a despereate attempt to make her laugh.Scarlett forced a weak laugh,for her aunties sake.
There was a knock in the door.Anya ignored it,and switched off her phone.Aaron had said in the last text he was low on credit."Its me.Matt" "OH!Coming-1 sec"Anya hopped up and unlocked her door.Matt came in quickly,holding a small card."I said I was carrying you some supper.Better give you this before they come up and see it."He gave her a quick kiss on her head and gave it to her.He exited.Anya stared down at the scrap.Printed in bold letters at the top was HOTTEN CLINIC.The appointmant was for tomorrow during French.Yes,thought Anya.Dont have to stare at Ms.Enrights massive mole for forty minutes.
