Haha just finished reading your story does it ever end? Carl pulled up outside colleens house, Cheeky cow he thought as he looked over the outside of the house he was paying for, huh he said to himself you wont be living here much longer you evil cow, Carl jumped out the car right away still reeling from what he had heard off the police,
Banging on the door as loud as possible to no reply Carl started shouting in the street, Come on open the door , you evil bitch he shouted as Colleen opened the door, Do you have to make so much noise Colleen said as she stepped aside to let Carl through the door, is that all you can say Carl replied, your more worried about the neighbors than your own son, No Colleen replied I just don't see the need to let the neighbors know our business thats all, A stunned look spread around Carl's face, huh he said it didn't stop you telling them all when it was me getting slagged off did it, I still get funny looks even now after taking them in, but I suppose you've twisted that as well Carl said ,suddenly Carl realized why he was there and sat down trying to let the anger go out of his voice, Look am stopping you money there is no need for all the money you get Ive got the kids so you don't need it any more.I want sole custody, Carl continued as Colleen looked shocked, you cant Colleen protested , well I am your going down so there is no need for you to be involved no more, am not going down Colleen replied ,yes Carl said you are , and am going to make sure you never see them again, looking Colleen straight in the eye, how could you, Carl said how could you arrange for your own son to get beaten up, I never , Yes you did and you know what Carl walked over to Colleen she could feel his breathe on he face as he said , he will know every think , just then there was a knock on the door ,Carl Jimmy shouted as Carl turned to let them in,come in lads he said take a last look at the house its on the market tomorrow, only had one evil sadistic owner, Carl Jimmy said get in the car , no i wont I want her out of this house today its my house my name on the deeds and she is out, Jimmy pushed Carl through the door, what will the kids think Colleen shouted that their precious daddy has kicked their mum out and left her on the streets,Mother Carl shouted well is that what you call yourself , you gave that right up when you threatened your kids lives or have you forgot that, get out jimmy said shoving Carl even harder through the door,Matt just stood and listened as Carl started losing it with Jimmy, Seems you had a lucky escape Matt said walking up to Colleen I can handle him Colleen said, oh I agree at one point yeah you could but you see he,s not a little fun boy no more and he's grew up now you made sure of that, hes a dad now , and guess what he's actually good at it , and although I never thought Id say this but Chas is doing your job quite well too, Matt could see the anger in Colleens face, he smiled as he took his business card out of his pocket,name your price Matt said , What Colleen said stunned, Carl, me, Jimmy ,Chas we all want you out of their lives so name your price who knows Matt continued if by any miracle you do escape prison you can make a fresh start somewhere else, Colleen never replied, Ill just leave my card then Matt said as he placed the card on the coffee table on the way out the door.

Jimmy and Matt followed Carl back to home farm making sure he didn't turn back , when they arrived back Chas had already arrived she left the hospital after reassuring Thomas everything was fine.
What the hell are you playing at Chas , shouted as Carl walked in , leave it Chas am not in the mood Carl replied as he walked past her, Well poor Thomas got upset when you stormed out like that, I'll see Thomas later , Carl said still looking angry, Oh so that makes it OK Chas said, OK Carl screamed I lost it am sorry and what do you care any way Carl said he isn't your kid is he , I mean what the hell is going on here am I the only one who Care's. No Chas replied we all care, oh Yeah well then , Carl looked Chas in the Eye, say you will be their mum, Chas paused, still confused not really wanting to steel someone Else's kids from them knowing only to well the feelings she would be inflicting on Colleen, but then thinking of the stuff Colleen had done to her own kids , thought so ,Carl said bringing Chas to her senses, what Chas replied, never mind it don't matter, Yes Chas said if thats what you want, if you think its for the best and if am allowed of coarse I will adopt them. Don't force yourself Chas , Carl replied, Carl Chas said I love the kids but what your asking me to do is hard for me and you know that , But after today I think you are right maybe she doesn't deserve them , Do you mean that Carl asked, yes I do I love the kids I'll do whats best for them thanks Carl replied,
Well Matt said I think I best go and pick Anya up, Edna will be warn out, Edna Carl replied, Yeah shes with Edna jimmy said Carl looked horrified , you two know how much of a handful Anya can be, Jesus Carl continued poor Edna, Ill go Carl said, I just gotta see this he said as he walked out the door, followed by Chas who also seen the funny side.
Carl stopped the car at Viv's shop, here he said giving a £20 to Chas run in and get some flowers or something we cant go empty handed,
Saw little Anya earlier , Viv said Fancy leaving a small child with a pensioner like Edna Viv said, Oh mind your own business Viv she will keep her young , Chas replied as she walked back out the shop with the biggest bunch of flowers,
Hello Edna Carl said as Edna answered the door I believe you have something belonging to me, hope she hasn't caused you to much trouble Carl continued handing Edna the flowers, Oh no she is a little treasure she's been helping me in the Garden , and she has Lent all the names of all the flowers Edna said as Anya came running daddy can I stay a bit longer Edna said I can have tea with her and Tootsie, Oh I think Edna needs her rest Anya maybe next time hey, Oh am sue I will be fine for a little longer Edna said were having a good time arnt we sweetheart, well if you insist Carl said but I need you ready for 6 o'clock you want to see Thomas don't you, so can I stay daddy Anya said exited,You want to be careful Edna she will have you harassed Chas said oh am sure she wont Edna replied, daddy Edna is my new nanny Anya said can I call her nanny cuz I haven't got a real proper nanny Anya protested , well I think you will have to ask Edna that don't you, Oh its fine Carl she's lovely, Carl started smiling, how is Thomas anyway Edna inquired, oh he's on the road to recovery now,Carl replied, its terrible what the kids in school get up to these days isn't it, Edna replied not knowing the full story, Carl just nodded in agreement not wanting to let everyone know the truth. Nanny can we take tootsy for a walk Anya said to Carl and Chas's amusement, You shore she is OK Carl asked Edna oh yes she's good company, OK Carl said writing his number on a piece of paper, I will see you at six then he said leaving Anya behind.
What a corker, Carl said when they got outside, yeah Chas replied a proper little Charmer like her dad It must run in the family.
When they got back to Home Farm Carl there was a police car outside, god what the hell do they want now l said to Chas I as he walked into home farm, what the hells happe Carl was cut short by the solom faces of Matt and Jimmy, What Carl screamed is it Thomas is Thomas OK Carl screamed anxiously Thomas is fine Jimmy said, but I think you should sit down, its Colleen Matt said shes dead mate, Carl just sat there starring at them not knowing how to feel, What how , your ex wife's body was found in her car she died from exhaust fumes, Carl just sat in shock not knowing what to do say or feel. As we cant trace any family members we need you to identifi the body the policeman said.

Carl , Matt shouted bringing Carl out of his trance like state, you need to identify the body, Why me Carl said there must be other people closer than me to do it, yes , but they are not available the police replied they are out the country, Well you will have to wait for them because am not doing it don't you think Ive been through enough, then theres the fact I have to tell Thomas and Anya, Can I do it Jimmy replied , No its OK I suppose it should be me Carl interrupted, come on then lets get it over with he said grabbing his coat, Ive got to be back for Anya at 6 so lets make it quick hey he continued,
Later that night at the hospital , Carl was very quiet sitting at Thomas.s bed he found it Hard talking to Thomas knowing that as soon as he was well his life would be lifted upside down again , and Anya was her happy little self just talking and laughing with Thomas as if nothing was happening , they were totally unaware of the news that was going to change their lives,yet as much as Carl felt sorry for his kids he also thought it was for the best, nobody could take the kids now no custody battle just him Chas and the kids left to get on with their lives.
Dad did you bring me any sweets Thomas asked, bringing Carl round, erm oh am sorry son I forgot he replied, Tell you what I will go and get some Chas will stay here with you while I go , Carl was glad of the break away looking Thomas and Anya in the eye was becoming hard and Carl didn't know how to deal with it.
Is my dad OK Thomas asked Chas , yeah he's just upset about you being in hospital thats all, oh tho mas replied I thought he was going to cry then Thomas said he looked weired, Chas laughed don't be silly your dad doesn't cry,Thomas Anya butted in I have a new nanny , her name is Edna and she said she will be my nanny, Thomas started laughing, you cant just say some woman is your Nan Anya , we haven't got a Nan have we Chas Thomas said, I have haven't I Chas , Daddy said she can be my Nan so She is, well if Anya and Edna are happy I don't see the harm Chas replied, Y ou can share her if you want to Thomas she said she will buy you a card tomorrow and some sweets, Thomas was still laughing at the prospect of a new Nan , When Carl walked in he had composed him self and had a smile on his face as he approached them, Guess what dad Anya has a new Nan she said, Oh has she been telling you he said as he lifted Anya out of his chair and sat Anya on his knee, yeah and she has alittle puppy called Tootsie, its hardly a puppy Anya Carl replied, giving the kids their sweets, Dad Thomas said does mum know am sick will she be able to come to see me, Carl and Chas just looked at each other, well we thought it would not be nice to tell her Carl said because remember the police said she couldn't see you and if she knew you were ill it would be to hard for her to cope with,but the police wont mind dad can we just asked,am sorry son was all Carl could bring himself to say. Thomas went quiet for a bit and Anya , sensed it again by bringing Colleen into it, Do you miss mummy Thomas cuz I do I wish we could go and see her , yes Thomas replied when will the police let us see her again dad Thomas said, this was starting to get to Carl normally he would get annoyed at them showing her loyalty but today it was making him feel sad, he decided there and then that it was in their best interest to tell the kids as soon as Thomas was well it wasn't fare to let them believe that they might see her again soon.
Later that night when Anya was in bed and Chas and Carl were alone, Chas thought she would try to find out how Carl really felt he haddn'treally spoke to her about it someone had been in the way all day.
You OK she asked, Carl let out a long sigh I don't know Chas what am I supposed to feel , I had two kids with her, tears were starting to form in his eyes , I saw her lying there and realized how much I used to love her, and then there is the kids they need to know Chas , do I let them go to the funeral, or do I keep them away,the police say her sister and brother cant come back over here so there is only me to sort things out, and I don't want to upset you but I have to do it for the kids sake.my heads in knots Chas it really is all this thats happening in my life I wish my luck would change one day it will, I mean I must be due some good luck from somewhere. but to be honest Chas the worse is yet to come, how the hell do I tell them that their mum is dead and that its my fault. How on earth is it your fault Chas replied, I went there Chas I told her she would never see the kids again and I told her I was going to sell her home from under her, she done it because of me Chas , No Carl Chas said she made her mistakes it was her own fault , was it Chas will Thomas And Anya think that when they find out,

The next day , the hospital said Thomas could come home, He was still a little weak but he was happy as Larry trying to get all his stuff together waiting to be picked up from the hospital, It was 9.30am when Carl arrived on his own to pick him up Thomas was so exited to see him he was waiting at the ward door with all his belongings.
What are you doing there a nurse asked Thomas, am waiting for my dad he said he will be here around 9 and he is late, well go back to your bed the nurse replied, OK Thomas replies feeling scalded at the nurses tone, as he was struggling back he heard a familiar voice, Oye, Carl said whats with all this stuff, am ready dad Thomas replied with a smile on his face, and your late you said 9 O'Clock, No Thomas I said around 9 I got abit caught up thats all , am here now any way so get this stuff back to your bed and see if we can sort it out a little better,Carl started folding Thomas's clothes up neatly , as Thomas looked on. Mum must have showed you that Thomas said , must she why Carl replied, because she folds just like you Thomas replied and men Cant fold clothes, so it must have been mum when we all lived together, yes she probably did Carl said smiling at Thomas,
Come on then lets get you home, yeah Thomas replied because I want to win you at fiffa, oh I don't think so Carl replied laughing , but knowing when he got home Thomas wouldn't want to play on any game when he got home,
Alright mate Jimmy said as Thomas walked in the kitchen , how you feeling, I'm better now Thomas replied , Erm Carl interrupted you heard the Dr you cant be running round and I wont have you running round either , OK Carl Jimmy said hes just walked through the door for Christs sake calm down, Jimmy said so Thomas couldn't hear him, I cant Jim hes so happy and am about to burst his bubble, and you know what the last couple of days the two have them have mentioned Colleen more than they have all the rest of the time since they left her, telling me they miss her too, It seems so strange Jim l9like they sense something is wrong they never mentioned her for weeks and all of a sudden they wont shut up about her. I know Jimmy replied little Anya was saying she was going to ask the police could they see their mum soon she was saying Thomas misses her but I think she meant her as well.Oh I don't know Jim Carl replied how on earth am I gong to tell them, where is Anya any way Carl asked, she went to the shop with Chas and Anya wanted to see Edna again , Carl rolled his eyes, poor Edna Carl said she wont be able to get rid of her, Jimmy just laughed.
Just then Anya came running through the door, Daddy nanny Edna said I can sleep over some time If its OK with you, Erm more like you told Edna you could Chas replied, Can I daddy please, no not tonight another time maybe, oh its not fare Anya said I have to phone her up now Anya replied as she went to get the phone, What Carl said to Chas she has Edna's phone number, MMMMMMMM Chas replied shes a torment Carl the woman is going to be harassed with her, oh I don't know Carl replied Edna seems to like her she seem like she's enjoying it as much as Anya is, so just leave it for now , who knows Carl said she could be a god send in the next few weeks, Yeah Chas replied,
Carl and Chas were sitting at the kitchen table both wondering what way would be the best to tell the kids , When there was a knock on the door,Carl Jumped up to answer the door, Am sorry to here about Colleen inspector Vaughn said standing with a sympathy card, Erma OK but .....,why whats up with mum Thomas from behind Carl , Erm nothing son go in I will explain in a bit, No Thomas said there is something wrong , Thomas Carl half shouted go in I will be in now go on , A worried Thomas walked away while Carl stood wondering how he was going to explain what happened.
wheres Thomas Carl asked Chas , what Chas replied hes with you he wanted you to play fiffa with him, well he ain't and he knows something is up with Colleen, he heard me talking to Vaughn , Carl started searching the house but to no joy , Jesus not again he must have run off again Carl fretted , and after an operation as well , We Need to find him Carl said and Quick.

OUR SPECIAL PLACE

After walking round the grounds of home farm for what seemed like hours, but infact was only half an hour, Carl found Thomas sitting by a tree not far from a small pond that Tom had , had made for the kids for when they stayed he liked the pond it reminded him of his granddad and how he would bring him and Anya there to show them the fish, and sometimes they would bring a pic-nic out and sit there in there with their colouring books and a football, Just Thomas Anya and their granddad, Unknown to Carl this was one of Thomas's favorite places he found it very relaxing, just sitting remembering good times, Even though their dad wasn't there very much they were always happy and their granddad spoilt them rotten.
Hey what you doing all the way up here Carl shouted as he approached Thomas, Nothing Thomas replied wiping his eyes quickly so as not to show Carl he had been crying, You know you shouldn't be running around you heard the doctor , come on lets go back. No Thomas replied am fed up here I want mum back, Thomas , Carl tried to speak as Thomas continued, no its not fare dad you wont even tell me nothing I know something is wrong with mum and you just wont tell me what it is , Even that horrible police man knows before me , Well come back to the house and we can all sit down and talk about it Carl replied. No Thomas said I like it here I like it here this is were granddad bought us he told us it was our special place , So you had a special place Carl replied a little taken aback , yeah we came here When it was your week end to have us over , but you were never here so we stayed with granddad mostly, Oh Carl replied feeling alittle ashamed off himself. am sorry, its OK Thomas said we liked granddad, he told us loads of stories about you when you were growing up, Did he now Carl replied as he took a seat next to him, all nice I hope, Thomas turned to his dad , I used to wish you loved us like he loved you, Carl looked at Thomas shocked at his statement, I do is all Carl could reply as he voice started to shake at the thought of how much he had hurt his kids in the past, So what stories he been telling you Carl asked trying to think of a single day he had made hid dad proud but couldn't actually think of one. Thomas started to laugh he said you were an idiot, oh that sounds like dad Carl replied a little disappointed, not a bad idiot a good one Thomas replied, oh thats OK then Carl replied with a chuckle, He showed us all your photo's Thomas said looking in Carl's eyes, yeah Carl replied many of me , don't think dad kept many photos Carl said laughing, They were all you he has a album full of you, he told me I could have it when I get old enough, did he Carl said shocked wondering what Thomas was talking about, I saw all the pictures of you winning your swimming and your running you was the best in the school granddad said Thomas continued he told me he was really proud of you and all he would say is one day he will see sense he always does ,Did he Carl said shocked, mmmmmmmm strange one your granddad, Carl said putting his arm round Thomas,Why Thomas asked curiously, Nowt Carl replied come on lets get back to the house, No Thomas replied whats wrong with mum I know there is something wrong, dad I want to know , Am sorry son Carl said placing his arm back on Thomas shoulder, am afraid your right its bad news, What Thomas replied, am sorry son, Carl repeated taking Thomas in his arms , gently rocking his son who instinctively new what his dad meant without even mentioning the word, Carl held on to Thomas for around five minutes just cradling , as broken hearted Thomas lay sunk so far into Carl's chest he could hear his heart beat, Rocking from side to side the mood was only broke by the sound of Carl's mobile ringing,
yeah its OK Carl said down the phone as Jimmy was inquiring if he Had found Thomas, were on our way back now he continued shaken voiced, take it he knows then Jimmy said noticing Carl's tone yes Carl replied with a distinctive sob, OK take your time Jimmy replied as Carl placed the phone down Thomas Lent back into his chest as if it was the only place on earth he could stay safe sitting by the tree by the pond witch will now become a special place for Thomas and his dad, a place they can both be happy together, without anyone disturbing them.

sitting on the settee in the lounge Thomas was hugging into Carl not letting go of his dad and sobbing Thomas had not uttered a word since they came back all he wanted is what he couldn't have and never would be able to have again , suddenly Thomas asked the question Carl had been dreading how dad why did someone do it like they did to granddad , No son Carl said hoping he was making the right decision in telling the truth, Your mum simply had enough she couldn't live no more with all that has happened , once again Carl took Thomas in his arms as Thomas sobbed uncontrollable as he realized what his dad was saying . Was it my fault dad is it because of me , Carl took Thoma's face in his hands as he looked into his eyes, listen he said no doubt your mum missed you, but this is not your fault , and I never want to hear you blaming your self ever again , A pang of guilt swept through Carl's body as he though if he hadn't have gone there that day he wouldn't have pushed Colleen to the end of despair, fear suddenly shot through Carl's body as he thought if Thomas ever found that out he may lose his son forever,
What about Anya Thomas suddenly reminded Carl, should I tell her dad , don't be daft Carl said thats my Job, but Can I be there please , Carl looked at his son suddenly realizing how mature Thomas had became lately and yet he knew even with all his maturity he needed Carl more now than he would ever need him in his life, grabbing Thomas in his arms , with tears streaming from their now blood shot eyes , of cause you can Carl replied we will be there for her together , thanks dad Thomas said as he went to find his sister who was being entertained by Chas,
Entering Anya's bedroom Thomas stood starring at his little sister playing games like there was nothing more important in the world than those dolls she was dressing up or the make up Chas has been applying to her face, wondering why the world was still spinning while his had stopped,as his dad followed close behind , Carl placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, you don't need to do this son, this is my job, your only a young lad why don't you sit with Jimmy while I talk to Anya, no Dad I want to be with Anya, knowing what was happening Chas said shall I go then leave you t it, no please stay Carl said as he grabbed her hand we need you here with us, No , no we don't Thomas suddenly shouted , she isn't one of us dad tell her to go, Yes Thomas Chas is one of us and she is here for you , well I hate her Thomas said , Anya tell dad you don't want Chas here, I do Anya said promptly not knowing anything was wrong, why cant Chas stay , because thats why Thomas said , Thomas Carl said Anya wants Chas to stay, standing up defiantly Thomas stormed out the room , I think I should go Chas replied, yeah maybe we all should, Carl picked Anya up and left the room, with Chas following him to the place he knew he would find Thomas,
Sitting down in almost the same spot as earlier but this time with Anya in his arms and Chas by his side Carl , pulled Thomas close while he sat and told Anya about her mum , explaining only that she had gone to heaven , and that she was now an Angel Carl thought it best to leave it at that, sitting by the pond withe tears running freely , the sun began to fade as the cold night started to draw in realizing how much Thomas didn't need to be out in the cold Carl decided it was time to go,All four of them walking back to the home witch was now almost certainly theres for the rest of their lives , looking back at the pond one last time before he he left Thomas decided to turn back, taking Anya by the hand he led her to the pond, this is our pond Anya , Thomas said if we feel sad we can talk to mum here, and we can talk to granddad too, Carl looked up at Thomas you little star he thought as he watched his two kids embrace , with pure love of only siblings have when their so young , it almost made Carl feel ashamed of the way he fights with Matt over nothing but then he realized , Matt would do anything for him just as Thomas would for Anya,walking back with sobbing hearts , heads down looking to the ground where four pair of feet were kicking through the remains of the brown leaves that had fallen from the trees, breathing in the cold but fresh winters air no one said aword quietness spread across the four of them as they all imagined their own version of the rest of their lives.
